I replaced my AC tensioner pulley yesterday. Grease wasn't gonna save this one...
When I took it off, the pulley was off-center and stuck against the body of the tensioner. All the bearing innurds fell right out when I took out the center bolt.
    😃

This is interesting. I have to admit, I've done my fair share of parts swapping. When things get hard to find like durring a grid down we need to know these things.

Sometimes you have to parts swap, but whenever it's just a bearing or something, I fix it. I learned that from my Yanmar tractor project. You can't always get new parts.

where you get the new bearings for 5.3 an 6.0? an how do you press them in the pulley? nice video.

Just read the side of the bearing it will be a number like 6202 and then you order a new one and pop the old one out.

@@MattsShop I do this all the time on my bikes. Most bearings are a standard size, nobody got time and budget to design a custom one. Dealer part is $50, same bearing from a standard catalog is $5 for a cheap one off eBay, and $20 for a high-quality one made in Japan or Sweden.
I go for the $20 ones where it matters, like wheels. The $5 works, but doesn't last as long.
