I see Clean in quotation marks in the title, and I know there's got to be a rant coming!
I think I may have read the Northwoods series as a kid, but I'm not sure. If I did, I definitely liked Mandi more.

Hahaha, for sure a rant or two! 😅😂
Oooh, yay! Another vote for Mandie! 😁💗

The author for The Unlucky Prince could have had a pet frog...😂 that would have helped her describe frog movements

…see, that makes complete normal sense but somehow never entered into my brain. 🤣 Huh, I forgot that some people have frogs as pets! 🤣😅

For The golden goal book…Thank you so much for pointing out the lust part. You are absolutely right the physical attraction was too intense and the kissing part also too much for clean book. I skipped it because it make me really uncomfortable.

Never heard of the Northwoods series and I tried the Mandie series and…hated them. 😬😅 Oops. I do like the two movies though so there’s that…
Loved your rants and thoughts on all these books!

…I’m loving your comment because it’s you and not because of the slight Mandie slander 😜😁😂 I’m glad you liked the movies though! (Even if they’re so not accurate, like every book to movie adaptation, hahaha!)
      Thank you, sweet Sarah! 😁🥰💗

If you're looking for a contemporary romance about baseball, I just found this book, Hooked on You, by Kathleen Fuller. It has a former major league player in it that teaches softball.

Ooooh! Thank you so much for the recommendation! I read a bunch of that author’s Amish books years ago, but haven’t kept up with her newer releases. I will have to check it out! 😁💗🥰

Lois Walfrid Johnson - loved that series in my younger years. Actually still have the series.

I read the second book from Carolyn Miller called Love on Ice. I really liked it. The sister you talked about was a secondary character in this book and she didn't seem so bad. Maybe she matured by the end of the first book. The second book was about her best friend who was a speed skater. This was my first sports rom com.

I was curious about the second book because of the speed skating aspect! That one might be fun to read around the Olympics! I’m glad to hear the sister wasn’t over the top in that book, thank you for letting me know! 💗

Haha! You’re making me wanna read on e a queen way more than I did before! Obedient kids are boring. Haha! But I kind of see what mean about consequences? I felt that way about the vanderbeker series. But for this type of book, I could forgive it. I mean how do you write about family secrets without snooping? That’s how you find out the secrets.

I think I'm going to have to give Once a Queen a try. I'm much more of a portal fantasy person (most of the time... depends on how it's handled) and it sounds interesting conceptually, while at the same time certain things you mentioned have me going, hmm, and I need to see for myself if it works.😆 Like, in fairytales, white stags are traditionally associated with the fae/fairies, so using one as a Christ figure is one of those "hmmmm, not sure about that" elements. At the same time I wonder if the main girl's non-rule-following attitude will annoy me. At least in Narnia, if one of the kids was not following good rules or being snotty, they got corrected. Once a Queen has a 12 week wait at my library, though, so looks like I better get in line!😂

There really is a range with Christian content. Just because the bedroom scene isnt on paper, doesnt make the book "clean." Which doesnt make sense to me because the majority of readers who dont want to read that stuff, dont want to read long kisses, details leading up to, etc!

Aww, thank you! I’m not sure what the actual style’s name is, but they’re from the brand MODO and it says Model 4526 inside the frames! I’ve had them for three years (switching out the lenses when my prescription changes) and really like them! They’re super light and comfortable! 😁🥰💗

Your videos are good but you still give too much away, you pretty much say the whole thing but say “something happen”, then straightaway tell us what happen, but not reveal the subject, I.e. we see a prospective, then tell us it was the villain, but not reveal what he said. Villains are number two foundation of a book, there is no hero without a villain…most readers don’t want to know too much about them. Also your rants give away far too much in opinion which makes me not want to read it as it loses that excitement. But I know your videos can take time, so I do appreciate , so a big thank you for that x

Hi there! Oh no! I’m so sorry that you feel that way! I used to barely share about the book, but was told by many viewers that I didn’t give enough info to hook them into reading it. I guess everyone likes a different amount of information! 😉 Thank you for your feedback, though!

Another non-Narnian exists??? 🥹 I have theological issues with Lewis but my main issue with Narnia and the reason I haven’t read them is because they make Jesus an animal and I’m not okay with that AT ALL.

    • @LindseyfromBFCG
      @LindseyfromBFCG  6 месяцев назад +1

I was never pushed to read it as a child because I really didn’t like any fantasy like books then, so I never read it! Definitely an anomaly for a homeschooler. 😂 Not sure about his theology stance, but I totally understand what you mean about making Jesus an animal. It can be iffy! 😬
