My parents' first car as a married couple was green '71 Impala....purchased in '72....and they kept it until the engine finally gave out 14 years later.
My 71 Impala Custom 2 door Hardtop was the best car I ever had. Other than brakes, tune-ups, a starter motor and some front suspension work, it was virtually maintenance free. Mine was the same dark blue as the vinyl top seen here, but without the vinyl. Had it for years.
Our family had a 1971 Impala Sport Sedan with the gold brown paint and white vinyl top. The interior was the upgraded all-vinyl brown bench seats. My father purchased it as a used car in the Fall of 1972. I had just turned 8 years old and I became a car fanatic for life as a result.
Bought a 71 metallic blue with white vinyl top with 22,000 miles out of an elderly gentleman's driveway in 1988 for $1000 . Taught my then gf how to drive on her permit with it. First time out she ran a stop sign, t boned a new vette and wrapped it around a pole. No one injured but car was totalled.
This was the best looking of the biggest full size CHEVORLET'S of the 70's ! until the down size in 77 . One of my top 10 full size CHEVORLET'S ( IMHO ) thanks for the video.
Ahhh! Love the styling, the big, confortable size, the metal, underbody mud guards, the shiny chrome details, the shock absorbers, and the overall American feel to them! Back then American cars were the best in the world and were available to everyone. Unlike other countries that _despite the fact that they built tiny, unconfortable, bugs_ most people couldn't afford them! Wish MGM would make land yatchs like these again but with 21st century essencials like air bags and dvd players! But less computerized like cars nowadays that break over tiny things and need computer analysis to fix them rather than a mechanics expertise!
IMPALA Is One of The Best Looking And The Most Reliable American Car Ever Made, Bar None & Hands Down! A Lot Of My Relatives, Friends, And Neighbours bought A Lot Of Impalas From The Start Beginning With The 1958 Model Year, Thru All The Following Model Years Up To Today! If GM still made an IMPALA 2-DOOR SPORT COUPE like the last ones made in Model Year 1981, I WOULD have bought One BACK in Model Year 2015 instead of My 2015 CHEVY Camaro 2LS 323 Horsepower 3.6 Litre V6 SPORT COUPE! Do Not Get Me Wrong, The Camaro is a Great Performing Muscle Car, But The IMPALA is more Versatile & User Friendy when It Comes To Taking More Passengers with The Driver! 5 or 6 People at the Maximum can be accommodated in an IMPALA while a Camaro can only accommodate 4 at the Maximum!😁😎😍👍
My Mom Had A 1971 Chevrolet Caprice-This 1971 Chevy Impala is nice and rides good and goes from 0-60
