GTA 4 taught me a lot when i was younger. The story mode with Niko Bellic was truly an eye opener for me. Literally a man who lost everything and watched his friends get killed and betrayed as he came to a new country with next to nothing except for his cousin who he cared a lot for and a vengeance to find the ones who betrayed him. Niko's story taught me a few valuable lessons in life i still carry to this day: -Love and loyalty go a long way, especially with your friends and family -Do not trust everything you're presented with at face value, sometimes things are too good to be true -Appreciate the things you have while you have them, even the small things -Change can be scary, but necessary to become a better person...and you're never to old for change. -Never let hate or disdain cloud your judgement, sometimes the best thing to do is to forgive those who wronged you and move on with your life.
If you haven't already, I recommend you to watch a movie called "Брат"("Brother") that this game has a lot in common with (and was possibly one of the inspirations for), including the songs that are a part of its ost that play on Vostok's wavelength in GTA4
GTA improved my character and made me more aware and less vulnerable around my surroundings, because i used to be betrayed a lot in my past by my "friends". I was like a hired guy, while i do the dirty work (not in the way you're thinking), my friends get away and they always backstab me because i was such a easy target, but GTA stayed loyal and taught a moral lesson, don't fully trust everyone you know, because anyone can hide their true face from you and backstab at the correct time. GTA and Real life are two different worlds, in one of them, you can do whatever you want probably after a rough day at work and in the other world, you have to be respectful and not do the same thing you do in GTA for entertainment. It taught me to never do drugs, not be involved with bad people, you're a good guy, but your surroundings can change you. People always say GTA makes me violent, but it's false, it made me into a better honorable person, and no do bad deeds anymore.
I say this all the time, there are two quotes from GTA Vice City that I have lived by, "It takes a wise man to learn from his mistakes, but an even wiser man to learn from the mistakes of others." and "If you listen, one day you might be heard." both of those I heard on the radio stations of Vice City and they stuck with me, I've lived by them since playing it.
With regards to the drugs: Growing up i was disgusted with even the thought of drugs, especially thanks to GTA, never did i think they were glamorous. 2 years ago i recovered from a severe coke addiction and admittedly i havent been the same since i was addicted. Unfortunately i fell into a life of drugs and sheer willpower alone pulled me out of "the life". Ironic to call it that. My point is though, GTA never once was the reason i got into that sort of life. If anything, GTA did exceptionally well to turn me off it. I have no time for anyone who has anything negative to say about GTA
I'm surprised that you didn't mentioned Big Bear from San Andreas in the drugs chapter. When we were introduced to him, he was said to be the toughest OGs in GSF, but after he took the drugs, he became a slave to B-Dup before much later he commands him to kill Sweet and CJ; which he decided that it's not worth it for crack, and liberated from B-Dup. Mis-opportunity too, as a way to show that going against your true friends is not worth it for crack
It doesn’t matter if you are a boy or a girl. You are one lucky person if you played GTA in your childhood and also understood the difference between virtual and reality… I’m only 15 but GTA taught me to not do bad stuff and not to trust everybody as well as to be careful always. You try to leave the world of crime, but the world of crime doesn’t forget about you. I watched Skyfall when I was 5 when it came out and I watched it with my grandmother. Oh the 2012 atmosphere! Then, a few years later we watched it again in the same month. That was the like greatest memory I had with her, RIP. So what I’m trying to say is, Skyfall and GTA made me like the dark atmosphere of the world ,it made me into a realistic person and made me appreciate how time is money. I’m that quiet student in class (but not fully quiet and I am not anti-social). Expectations are what we think will happen, while reality is what actually transpires… The world we live in today is just a joke. Rockstar and lots of companies (like car brands putting fakery everywhere) only care about money, annoying kids in GTA Online, modern movies are getting trash with futuristic crap, politics, war and etcetera. I never understood most of the memes today with people putting garbage music in them like what is wrong with Ohio?? I know memes are funny but I just don’t like when people make memes about people and places, they are “cringy” I should say…. I think the most luckiest people in the world are those that were born before the 2010s, just saying. We don’t know what the future of GTA and Rockstar Games will be like. I just hope Rockstar will be good again like the old days even tho I only started playing GTA in 2021 So people just enjoy life ,do good things in life like helping each other. If you are having a hard time find some help. And lastly, don’t waste time. Spend time with family members and friends to make great memories.
Here's the many things that GTA has taught me : -GTA has taught me that freedom of choice is an illusion (or can be in some situations) but that choices mostly includes compromises. When I've played GTA IV storyline and completed it a couple of times, it doesn't matter what choice you make, Niko gonna still gonna lose one of his closest person either Roman or Kate either way, you are f*cked. - Also being loyal or having integrity is one of the most important value of friendship or business related, there's a lot of betrayal issues between protagonist and their peers at least in every GTA. - I don't know how or why to explain it because it contradict itself, but doing criminal stuff in GTA in general aside from drugs and making blood/dirty money makes you more ethically and morally conscious of what kind of path you have to lead in life.
Every single thing you mentioned over here is of great value. There is some freedom of choice in real life, but most of the time it turns out we don't have influence on almost everything. Still, it's something at least. Loyalty is just like you said one of the key values when it comes to friendships and business relationships. And well, doing all these bad things in GTA actually make you more aware of the negative effects of doing them in reality.
Honestly the Gta series teaches you a lot about why having greed get the best of you in the end will end you in the long run also rdr2 it teaches you that money isn’t everything and loyalty matters and etc
Rdr2 was an eye opener It made me realize what blind loyalty can do and funny enough around the time it came out i was dealing with somebody who i was blinded by loyalty with After realizing how that person was treating me and his actions i ended up cutting him off for good…
Also a good story is of Michael De santa from gta 5, he got in “the game” and the more money he got the more depressed he got. And after the north yankton heist when he moved to LS his family hated him and only when he got a job outside of “the game” his family respected him
I remember one guy (Midnight the Doom content creator guy, I think) said that violent games don't make more killers, it reduced them. (Edit: My memory is a little bit hazy about what I said. He only said (refer to the video in the replies at around 7:00-8:00) about the difference of being violent in fantasy (video games) and in the real world. I still can't find who said that, sadly) Damn, if I never played GTA, I'll probably smoke vape and do crimes right now
That's a really interesting statement, tbh. Did he think that the amount of killers in real life is reduced because they can kill people in video games instead? That sounds a bit far-fetched.
I like GTA and its moral message. It shows what happens to traitors, as well as the consequences of drugs etc. Rockstar may give us valuable entertainment in these games but they want us to remain law abiding citizens and not to get involved with the criminal underworld. Also with Lance and Big Smoke, it also says that we should appreciate what we have and don't get greedy!
Okay heres my take. My mom and dad were cool with me playing Vice City and San Andreas at 6 aslong as I had some minor supervision. My grandmother on the other hand was very upset. GTA not only is an amazing series but it showed me the things in life that are bad and only should be done in a video game. If anything these games KEPT me out of trouble
Another important lesson is to find a good partner. because if your girfriend/boyfriend is a bad person, maybe he/she will lead you to the wrong path and even take you to face the wrong person (like johnny klebitz)
I've played GTA Vice City since I was a kid, and it inspired my love for '80s music from a young age. Wave 103 was my go-to station besides VCPR, and it had some of the best songs I ever heard at the time. Especially Kids in America, which I already knew from Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. And even to this day, I prefer music from the '80s over any other era, even though I was born in 1993.
And yes, GTA make us better people sending us strong messages. Things like: If you betray, you will be betrayed. Live like a snitch = dies like a bitch End usually don't justify the means but even if it does, the price is usually too great to pay. Greed will get you killed. Don't do drugs or you will become a slave to the drugs. Family comes first...your really family that is. Is revenge really worth the price we pay to enact it? In the end you can only truly rely only on yourself Careful whom you trust There is a bunch more but this ones are keystone ones
GTA VCS taught me that having your own businesses is a lot better than having a job since you are the boss and you let the money work for you not the other way around. Because when you have jobs the people and management( Marty, Jerry Martinez, Ricardo Diaz) might treat you like crap or hate you no matter how loyal or kind you are to them. So its better to save your money and have your own brand instead of being lapdogs to people you're not even comfortable with.
Honestly I see these games as I see movies and shows. Like I wanna experience the story of a Bank robber, a hitman, a gangster or drug dealer. I don't want to be any of those things in the same way that I don't want to become a meth cook after watching breaking bad.
This was pointed out to me while watching a gta4 retrospective, but in the game and dlcs. All the drug deals go bad which I feel is subtle anti drug message from Rockstar
GTA teaches moral stuff like knowing your true friends, not losing friends to drugs that destroy life, that loyalty doesn't always pay off, that one mistake can ruin one's life, that revenge is not a solution letting go is, that always stick by your friends who stick by you, that work for the right person who gives you proper respect, that fight for what you believe in and stick by your friends and family. It is not like Postal 2, which has the sole purpose of causing chaos and the most disgusting acts ever. At the same time we do play GTA fully aware its a crime game, not a cop game like Sleeping Dogs. And I play GTA since GTA 2 in 1999, and am 33 now and after 6 days 10 hours work I have no problem causing some in game chaos, doing gang rampages and destroying stuff with tanks in GTA, beheading peds and more. But I am fully aware that I will never try that in real life, its just people do crave some action and fun after all the stress and after all its a game, not a movie, and there is no problem doing some blood and gore in Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty as long as you are fully aware that this is a game and never should be done in real life and people have the right to some fun and action in games after hard work, so there is nothing to worry about that, but those acting like you have to be moral saints even in game probably don't have a real life, don't go out much and live through games and are the ones who need help cause they can't differentiate games from real life, its perfectly fine to do some in game violence to relief yourself after some hard days at work and you know very well its just a crime game and this should never be done in real life, go ahead and have fun with GTA the best game series ever :)
I dont know if people notice but none of the GTA protagonist like drugs the only one that ended adicted was Johnny and even that was after the game ended

In the 70s and 80s, the likes of Black Sabbath were condemned by parents and religious groups for (allegedly) promoting sexism, misogyny and satanism, yet band members maintain that they are in fact the contrary, with Tony Iommi saying "People used to think we were Satanists but we weren't. The songs were the opposite and all about the dangers of Black Magic and Satanism." Nowadays it's video games getting scapegoated for the ills of society even when self-appointed "moral crusaders" are no better off than the characters depicted in GTA, e.g. the high-ranking officials of the so-called "Christian Conservative" telco Patriot Mobile being accused of sexual assault and racism amongst other things. It's sad to know that this isn't the Rockstar we all knew and loved though, given how they've succumbed to the avarice they once satirised.
I'd like to say I don't agree about Ken Rosenberg. Infact whenever Vercetti is arrested by the police, you will hear dialogue lines from Rosenberg and then you will get out of prison. This means that whenever Tommy has legal problems with the police, Rosenberg is always there to take him out and cover his back.
In Vice City Stories the businesses you can take over have different pay levels based on the business types with drugs being on the lower half side even for the biggest biggest building option
This is an interesting video ! And the examples of Vance and Leon are really well chosen ! GTA never makes me wanted to do the crimes I did in the games
4:02 Damn i remember that convo. Back than i did not think much of it. But, today i think. For a violent maniacal killer/drug lord Tommy is the BEST BOSS and honest criminal can wish for. Tommy isn't/wasn't a boss. He was a leader. And he leads by example.
They say Rock n' Roll & Rap does the same thing influence our youth to drugs & crime. But nobody trying to boycott "Rock & Rap".....in fact, both genres is still rockin' out strong & made a lot people money..... 🍸🎇🍸🎇🍸🎇🍸🎇
They're correct in the case of rock 'n' roll and rap because, in these cases, the producers actually put spells on the music so demons get into you by the time you listen to it which is why I only listen to the talk stations in GTA.
Man gta San and gta 3 taught me the most two important concepts in life that being do what you say you will do and never dare wear them emotions live big dawg style and love your peeps, now for the last and important always keep you head up no matter the times you fall and makes enemies you never forget where you come from and stay true to them roots
I never play the old 2D GTA but GTA games have taught us: GTA 3: Only trust those who trust you and loyal to you GTA Vice City: Expand your business the right way and no drug GTA San Andreas: Be loyal to your friends and families and always support them even in a dire situation GTA 4: Revenge is not the right choice and always love your families GTA 4: TBoGT: When it comes to business, set it as priority. GTA 4: TLaD: Life is complicated, but you have to endure it with patience GTA 5: Never betray your loyal friends despite the quarrel we had.
GTA Vice City was the game I played the most when I was 12 years old in 2013... And I still remain a nice guy as of today! In fact, the "Paramedic" side mission actually sparked my interest in becoming an ambulance driver someday!

Also Tommy's empire didn't last long though as we know from Rosenberg, when he was sent to rehab, tommy's empire fell shortly after and Tommy also severed ties with him
This series also showed us some consequences of eating fast food meals (like that "Burger Shot Heartstopper" commercial in GTA IV) and absurdity of the world, especially if it comes to the politicians.

Hunting down Dimitri seems more appropriate for a final mission than some Mob boss, but it is the Canon ending so whatevs I loved the story in that game, way better than 5.
Yeah, we also prefer taking care of Dimitri Rascalov and having Kate killed later on instead of Roman. Speaking of the story, we definitely prefer GTA 4 to GTA 5.
I tried back in high school to complete San Andres and Vice City with as little pedestrian death as possible San Andres I gave up when I kept having to restart the save at pretty much at the parody of Vegas Vice City only the mall mission had pedestrian deaths when I started playing the Xbox 360 GTa and Saint's Row games I played very similar to how I beat Vice City my first plays of the games to prove that most of the game can be played only as violent as you feel not to say I didn't have a couple of saves just to rampage to blow off steam when missions got annoying
Lance Vance had a past history of messing up in GTA Vice City Stories and his Brother had to clean up Lance's mess every time so what he did to Tommi could have been predicted from his past actions in another game where he worked with his brother
GTA IV will make you a better person. The choices whether you kill or spare people. Sparing Ivan, and Cherise in the game, and sparing Dwayne too. The people who you least expect to be your friends will end up being your friends. in GTA San Andreas, Cesar, Woozy and The Truth were better allies to CJ than Big Smoke ever was to CJ. In GTA IV your real friends are Little Jacob, Badman, Packie, Dwayne(Determinant), Mallorie, Bernie and Brucie, and they always stuck by Nikos side when Dimitri wanted him gone. Dimitri was a phony friend to Niko. The Crabs in a bucket mentality was a big thing in GTA, with Franklin and Luis Lopez. Luis Lopez ditched his old life, for a new fancy life in downtown LC working for nightclubs and being a bodyguard for Tony, and Franklin ditching his old gang life to work with Michael and Trevor, and then finally making it out of the hood into the fancy Vinewood Hills. Both of their homies gave them a hard time about living a fancy life away from where they came from.
There's only 1 possible ending in GTA 4: Niko takes Kate's advise, resists Roman's greed, and takes out Dimitri before Dimitri can cause anymore trouble as confirmed in GTA 5 which has only 1 possible ending: Frank, L, Michael, and Trevor take out 11% of MerryWeather, Devin Weston, Steve Haines, Wei Cheng, and Stretch.
Best Ending for GTA 4 is kill Dimitri raskalov why i choose this is because he's gone too far For niko and take down pegorino familiy is best to save roman
Another honourable mention is the political satire that the series features, poking fun of both conservatives and liberals, and thus serving as a gateway to a political awakening if you were on one side or the other.
Rockstar made a honorable protagonist in thier last 3d universe game none other lance traitor vance brother vic vance it kinda ironic they both have different personalities and skills
Vic Vance's story is noncanon because it contradicts Tommy Vercetti's story. Tommy Vercetti's story makes it clear the Vances were new in Miami in 1986. Vic Vance's story would have us believe the Vances moved out of Miami in 1984 then moved back to Miami in 1986. Even if the Vance's story was canon, Vic Vance would've still been a bad guy from the start because he sold his soul to Satan to join the anglo-jew-Masonic-Satanic United States military to fight in bogus wars on behalf of the big banks. CJ is the 1st honorable protagonist followed by Niko. CJ, Sweet, Kendl, Cesar, and Niko were also all staunchly anti-drug.
I think that was one grand theft for was out some black dude was going around breaking in people's cars and not only that people does that anyways people that don't even play games they do that I will never put people's mental health on a video game
No there's plenty of test proving that video games does not make people angry at all there is no depends its people with mental health people needs to be focusing on mental health issues
GTA taught to not care about what bully’s say and focus on my future to be rich but by not robbing a killing and it was good game it took me from my anger a sadness because of the jokes.
It's okay, we have only chosen a few examples, but you are completely right. Johnny Klebitz as well as his girlfriend Ashley can easily be another instance of showing how drugs can ruin your life.
As i get older i felt like, what if it was us with our family.... Thats why i kill in missions and just enemeys and thats why i stopped taking people to altruists and i stopped speeding in freeplay and now I stop on red lights in freeplay
On the topic of drug use I mean little Jacob smoked more then bob Marley yet he's was the best friend niko ever had and always had their back. My point is that some drugs cause people to do dumb stuff while others turn people to full blown rastas with a bad case of the munchies

Growing up i was disgusted with even the thought of drugs, especially thanks to GTA, never did i think they were glamorous.
I have no time for anyone who has anything negative to say about GTA
its ironic, the very people who claims gta is toxic and violent is the same politicians that invades other nations
You are one lucky person if you played GTA in your childhood and also understood the difference between virtual and reality…
I’m only 15 but GTA taught me to not do bad stuff and not to trust everybody as well as to be careful always.
Expectations are what we think will happen, while reality is what actually transpires…
The world we live in today is just a joke.
I just hope Rockstar will be good again like the old days even tho I only started playing GTA in 2021
So people just enjoy life ,do good things in life like helping each other. If you are having a hard time find some help. And lastly, don’t waste time. Spend time with family members and friends to make great memories.
Carl Johnson taught me that no man can be kept down if they keep getting back up from what life throws at him.
Here's the many things that GTA has taught me :
-GTA has taught me that freedom of choice is an illusion (or can be in some situations) but that choices mostly includes compromises.
Exactly. These games can be brutal at times, but they also teach things about life.
I still can't find who said that, sadly)
Damn, if I never played GTA, I'll probably smoke vape and do crimes right now
That's a really interesting statement, tbh. Did he think that the amount of killers in real life is reduced because they can kill people in video games instead? That sounds a bit far-fetched.
I first played GTA VCS and completing it showed me how drugs can ruin your life....
Playing these games since I was i child, I didn’t repeat anything from the game in school and I’m a pretty moralistic person
i also learned eng because gta vc and gta sa which i had never learned in school
What is gta vs?
Yeah video games is the reason is why I'm better in English like I'm good at English that people are very impressed of may English
@@utilizator1701 vice city
That's pretty funny because we also profited a lot from GTA games when it comes to learning English!
I’ve played gta 4 all the way through like 10 times and not once have I ever realised working with dimitri was a real option
I don’t even kill civilians anymore. Just wanna complete some missions 😂
Same xd
Same lol
I just like to drive safely around without hitting anyone/anything but if a car hits me, it's gone
We have to admit that we are still killing innocent pedestrians, but only for science purposes lol.
@@gaminginvestigators or because of my poor driving skills
Another important lesson is to find a good partner. because if your girfriend/boyfriend is a bad person, maybe he/she will lead you to the wrong path and even take you to face the wrong person (like johnny klebitz)
It depends who good partner is to you. I would never call Kate or Louise good girlfriends.
Things like:
If you betray, you will be betrayed.
Live like a snitch = dies like a bitch
End usually don't justify the means but even if it does, the price is usually too great to pay.
Greed will get you killed.
Don't do drugs or you will become a slave to the drugs.
Family comes first...your really family that is.
Is revenge really worth the price we pay to enact it?
In the end you can only truly rely only on yourself
Careful whom you trust
There is a bunch more but this ones are keystone ones
GTA VCS taught me that having your own businesses is a lot better than having a job since you are the boss and you let the money work for you not the other way around. Because when you have jobs the people and management( Marty, Jerry Martinez, Ricardo Diaz) might treat you like crap or hate you no matter how loyal or kind you are to them. So its better to save your money and have your own brand instead of being lapdogs to people you're not even comfortable with.
I will never believe video game will make somebody angry it was proven multiple times it does not
Yes, that's what we kinda emphasized in our video.
That's perfectly said as always, wfan king!
@@gaminginvestigators Thank you, keep up the amazing contents :)
I dont know if people notice but none of the GTA protagonist like drugs the only one that ended adicted was Johnny and even that was after the game ended
I noticed lol
GTA helped me understand what not to do. I would definitely join a gang in 2000s otherwise instead of becoming a Chemical Engineer.
LIST of Betrayals in GTA games

The people complaining about the game causing others to commit crimes are usually the ones who vote people in that protect criminals.
Politicians: GTA is bad for our children
Also Politicians: Kids can transfer their gender at the age of 3
I'd like to say I don't agree about Ken Rosenberg.
Infact whenever Vercetti is arrested by the police, you will hear dialogue lines from Rosenberg and then you will get out of prison. This means that whenever Tommy has legal problems with the police, Rosenberg is always there to take him out and cover his back.
Hey GTA chinatown has selling drugs minigame that's great cuz it taught me about profit and loss before my teacher even taught me
One thing I learned was in GTA2: Remember, respect is everything.
Well chosen.

If i learnt one thing from GTA, its to not do drugs.
You're absolutely correct....it's called "Back Masking"......it's just enough relevant than as it is today.

GTA 3: Only trust those who trust you and loyal to you
GTA Vice City: Expand your business the right way and no drug
GTA San Andreas: Be loyal to your friends and families and always support them even in a dire situation
GTA 4: Revenge is not the right choice and always love your families
GTA 4: TBoGT: When it comes to business, set it as priority.
GTA 4: TLaD: Life is complicated, but you have to endure it with patience
GTA 5: Never betray your loyal friends despite the quarrel we had.

This series also showed us some consequences of eating fast food meals (like that "Burger Shot Heartstopper" commercial in GTA IV) and absurdity of the world, especially if it comes to the politicians.
+ the sexualization of minors with Jill Von Crastenberg

Hunting down Dimitri seems more appropriate for a final mission than some Mob boss, but it is the Canon ending so whatevs
I loved the story in that game, way better than 5.
Yeah, we also prefer taking care of Dimitri Rascalov and having Kate killed later on instead of Roman. Speaking of the story, we definitely prefer GTA 4 to GTA 5.
Remember that, every dark cloud has a silver line.
Series and Movies influence much more than games, But the idio... ops, the "journalists" are not ready to know that
That's really sad frankly speaking. Still, perhaps one day they will realize video games are not to blame...
One thing to mention that playing games like GTA, DOOM help in stress management. Whenever I feel agitated I just open GTA start blowing stuff up. 😂😂
The only GTA that might make someone a better person is GTA IV
Agree
I only kill in self defense in gta, stop at red lights and kill if its my job
So true, lots of life lessons, values and morals can be taught and learned even in video games.
Lance Vance had a past history of messing up in GTA Vice City Stories and his Brother had to clean up Lance's mess every time so what he did to Tommi could have been predicted from his past actions in another game where he worked with his brother
And the thing is video games are a great method to get these messages to a new generation. Blessings to games.
With me i mainly played gta for missions and did rampages when bored
I'm the prime witness, i started to play gta when I was around 5 yrs old, and i can proudly say they built a good character with me
There's only 1 possible ending in GTA 4: Niko takes Kate's advise, resists Roman's greed, and takes out Dimitri before Dimitri can cause anymore trouble as confirmed in GTA 5 which has only 1 possible ending: Frank, L, Michael, and Trevor take out 11% of MerryWeather, Devin Weston, Steve Haines, Wei Cheng, and Stretch.
Best Ending for GTA 4 is kill Dimitri raskalov why i choose this is because he's gone too far For niko and take down pegorino familiy is best to save roman
Yes, we also believe that the Revenge Ending is far better and more realistic.

Yeah, there were a few cases of people who allegedly did a crime because of the video game. But of course, we all know that's false.
