SOME OF US GET IT SOME OF WONT-THEN & NOW- SAGA * Very important & personal to me. I can't deny the value of their music to my own maturity through the 80's. I was young & it hit me hard, SAGA/MARILLION/Thinking Feeling Being MUSIC like this is. Thanks for your posting this GEM
After some 35 years of playing, writing, concert going and acting as a music reviewer, I can still say that the SAGA concert I experienced in the 80's was the tightest and best performed I have ever seen. Poor Billy Squire (who I do like) had a tought act to follow, as SAGA opened for them that night. Shame on whoever pissed off the band badly enough for them to decide not to return to the States. Wish they would do a reunion tour here....
Right away not only Michael Sadler's voice blew me out of the stratosphere due to his originality, his "perfect pitch and power behind his voice. Not only Ian's guitar solo grabbed me in wondrous ways, it also reminded me something that Steve Howe of Yes would have pulled out of his hat, on a Yes solo. Keyboards was the big time icing on the cake, bringing out their complex arrangements/orchestration, as well.
Am I correct to say that this band was VERY unique, with all the synthesizers and vocal crafting, and only ONE guitar? Nope, obviously, I'm not a musician or even knowledgeable, but my brain can still tell me they are different! ;)
These guys were way ahead of their time and great musicians...Michael Sadler is incredible. Any 'gay' comments I've read are idiotic and I understand the XBox is fun too kiddies.
Remember the date: 1981 - they played every frikin' note live, on stage, NOW - no MIDI, no BS: the STUDIO sound was the STAGE sound: very few bands can make a similar claim. Don't believe me, ask a musician; but ask a fuckin' great one, so u know how high the pinnacle was that they achieved.
speaking of gay, they have Brittney Spears video available on youtube if you are not into bands with real musicians... not criticism, just an observation.
too bad some confuse sexuality with art .. and their pride and prejudice overwhelm their good sense and sensibility Just shut up and listen.. or go away

I had the great fortune to see this fantastic band 'live' 3 times! I sincerely hope I get the chance to see them again!
einfach nur geil
My first full-fetched concert at Kiel's Ostseehalle and I am still a big fan of SAGA
One of my all time favorite tunes from this era. Such inventiveness.
Man I wish I saw these guys live in their prime like this.
So freaking good it's unreal. Not another band that sounds like them, ever.
The masters of magic sounds!
Today as great to listen as in the 80ties !! ....

amazing track for 1981, couple of years ahead of its time
Have to highly agree. Stellar musicians making amazing "original" exciting new music, back in the day.

The first simmons drummer"Steve Negus"........Geniaal nummer......als zoveel nummers.....Thats the Saga......

What an absolutely awesome concert. Such high level of musicianship. And really pushing the envelope. Saga needs to reband and do another tour!
This is the first song I remember the most.
Love these guys!!!

great song, great album.
A great underrated song.
they're great live
I still wish they would have included Ian's solo on the World's Apart album. It's perfection.
Saw them live in '84. They didn't play this genius tune and I was quite dissapointed. The lyrics hit home even more in 2012.
genialer sound!
Wait a litle bit of time, later very much of people see the premium quality, I'm sure.

Great. Geil! Super! Sagas best Song!!!
just discovered this band, they fucking rule!
did you notice how the drummer just seems happy to be playing music a the beginning that's how music should be played... for pleasure not money
Of course he is happy, he is sitting behind a brand-new Simmons kit! haha
Amazingly similar to wonderful studio version. Music doesn't always reach this quality today within the pop scene, or does it?

They were HUGE in Germany, weren't they? :-)

Rush is another one :)
