J-Min has always been "solo" tho. She is same generation as BoA. But new fans don't know much about her cuz she promoted mostly in Japan. Not Korea. It didn't work out so well so I think SM tries to promote her more in Korea now. However, I'm not sure what kind of contract she has with japan label so that might be another reason why her korean activities are limited.
