    to clear the terminal, instead of typing 'clear', you can hit the keyboard combination CTRL+L. I think it even works under mysql prompt

    Nice! You should present it as a Zoom alternative.

    I finished setting up Openfire, however, when I add the account to Pidgin, it says "unable to connect" at the bottom. The server is a Windows Server 2022 system. Clients are all Windows 10 systems.

      I'm not sure why you'd be getting that. There may be better logging in docker to help define the error that's happening better. I'd say you should also ask at the openfire project.

      You'd have to do a bit of research on that one. I'm not sure how to go about that.

    Can you do one video for "Mailpiler" email archiving service. I really appreciate your efforts to make these videos. I have learnt a lot from you. #opensource-is-awsome

    Great video Mr Brian, I really appreciate it, but is the fqdn really required, can I use simple ipv4 instead?

    • @AwesomeOpenSource
      @AwesomeOpenSource  Год назад +1

      I think you could use IP just on your local network, but I did not try it. It's better to setup a local FQDN (like mycooldomain.loc or something), and set local DNS properly.

    Do you know how people can reset their password and change it somehow? There is a login page but none of the other 2?

    • @AwesomeOpenSource
      @AwesomeOpenSource  2 месяца назад

      Really, you need to do it through the database I imagine. There's not user facing reset page.

      @@AwesomeOpenSource It would require a lot of organization and other ways to verify.

      @@AwesomeOpenSource users can reset their passwords in clients that support that functionality. Administrators can change the password of any user in the system through the web based admin console.

      Nextcloud Notes app for sure. Not sure about others that would be specifically open source.

    Can it be deployed on Raspberry Pi?

    • @AwesomeOpenSource
      @AwesomeOpenSource  11 месяцев назад +1

      I believe they have an arm version. For R-PI3 and below you want Arm V7, and Pi4 you want arm v8 or arm 64bit.

      @@AwesomeOpenSource Does it mean that Openfire can be deployed on Raspberry Pi?

      for a small userbase it may work... memory management is not all that great for 1000+ users.... one needs to restart the service once a week or when the java memory is getting full @@minglv
