The coffee crowd is how I’ve gotten several farm jobs in my early teens. I just showed up at 4:30-5:00 AM at the gas station when the farmers stopped to get coffee on their way to the fields each morning. Start conversation and let things go from their.
Great video. I find that overall, the people that complain the most about their hunting ground put in almost zero effort to change their situation. I hunt a heavily pressured area and picked up almost 200 acres of new ground this yr. Both land owners told me I was the first person in years to actually ask them for permission instead of trespassing. Traded some labor for permission and has worked out great!
I bought I 109 acres 4 years to ago and this year we just bought another 200 acres beside our property really pump to check it out. Great video Jeff thank you
Another amazing video Jeff!! It's like you read my mind... you really do such a good job, God bless!!
I’ll be using this shortly! Thank you
Thanks Jeff! This content is right on time👍
Sure thing Mike!
What’s leasing company would you all recommend? I live in maine so wherever I go it’s gunna be a drive
You can buy a lot of steaks for $2400 a year.
Jeff question for you. What lease companies do you recommend for finding potential land. Thank you.
There is a good question...
Jeff your videos really make sense and are very easy to understand. I am a member and treasurer of a small hunting club in Pa the Sportsmens club of Brentwood we only have 12 members and about 100 acres of land with a house on the property. We have a tractor a tiller and some small equipment that we started using about 2 years ago. I use a lot of your info to help our club with our land. Thank you keep the videos coming.
Awesome video!
Yeah is good to learn from the pros..
Great advice Jeff ! Appreciate the insightful and practical ways to locate hunting land. Wishing you and your staff the best in 2021!
Off season advice and info from someone that's been there done that.thanks Jeff.love this channel
This is great because I send a lot of letters looking for permission but I don’t always know which properties to try to get permission on. Thanks!!!
Guess I am very fortunate to walk out my door and be hunting.
Yes you are. Living the dream
me too buddy public land out my back door with no one there. Elk herd living in there and whitetails dream.
I’ve been waiting for this video, thanks Jeff
Man, I wish I could dish out 2.4k to lease land. Crazy
Right. I hunt for the meat and $2,400 just sounds crazy to me to get a deer or 2 a year.
Ive been traveling over 4 hours every weekend
4 hours isn't too bad...I used to only travel 7 hours if the weather was good.
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 yes sir. Thank yall for everything
I'm almost 40 and I just started hunting this fall for the first time. I am learning so much from these videos and really want to learn more about how the weather influences deer movements. I was sitting in a stand in early November on an abnormally warm afternoon and had at least 10 deer come through in just an hour time-frame. A cold front came through that night and dropped temperatures by about 20 degrees. The next afternoon, I sat in my stand and nothing came through. Is the best deer movement right before a big weather change?
Usually it's the morning after a cold front that's really good, especially in November.
Also if you hunted the day before, and the deer passed over your scent, or saw you, that could mess up that location for 5 plus days.
In NW PA, we see the deer move BEFORE the cold front. Right after, it's quiet as can be.
Yes.never is too late.
Do you have a contract for leases that you can share with us
Great video once again. I have found the Less is more adage when it comes to how much I hunt and when I hunt has been very favorable for me. 2019 and 2020 where both super Successful for me . I will admit it is vary hard to watch the next door nabor hunt 10 times more often than yourself. But Sticking to my plan payed off in spades in 2020 I shot my biggest buck to date off of my 25 Acres. Keep the great information coming.
Awesome drone footage .. sweet video brother 🏹-----🦌
Who can I contact to come cheak out my property in south west VA
I have a lil over 100 ac .. and I'd like to have someone come cheak it out and give me some advice on food plot
My brother is a big " permission " hunter in Pa. He's lucky if he gets a doe every year.
What county is he in??Bradford has over 5000 acres of game lands. And the center hardly gets touched.Their are some really good deer in their..
Great info, thank you. Do you film your hunts for TV or anything? I would love to see some of the action.
Subscribe man.. Jeff is full of knowledge and his channel isn't full of gimmicks and a bunch of high priced trash trying to push products. I honesly believe he does this to give people knowledge and to grow the sport and make people more productive with their time.
@@whitetailtherapy7908 For sure! That's why I am subscribed. I was wondering if Jeff films his hunts as well? I haven't actually seen any deer hunts kinda like the public land challenge he did with the hunting public. Just curious
What if you are not rich and can't afford to buy, lease or drive 8 hours?
You should show you setting up your client property and what your look for
Once I started thinking about hunting the weather then I had way too many spots to choose from.
Jeff would you rather purchase a property with hundreds of acres of public land next to it or private land? Talking northern WI area. I don’t miss a RUclips show. Thanks!
You've moved to First Lite! Loved to see a comparison to Sitka from you.
Love watching your videos!!!! Keep em coming! I have a 1000 acres of public land on two sides of my 80 acre piece, wondering if when designing my place how much of the federal can be used in as bedding or other elements????
Love your videos... hopefully Incan buy a small parcel soon here in Deep South texas and hire you all to help me set it up... everyone down here just puts a bunch of senderos (roads) and hunt out of box blinds
I used hunt cast this year and saw lots of deer. Some real nice bucks too. Mostly saw their butts running away when I would accidentally bump them. 😏😎 lol I'm still learning a lot
How do you go about asking a land owner when knocking on doors? Or do you have a video on it? I can’t really think of a great opener when approaching a stranger.
Jeff I understand that your house is located on your Minnesota property. I have a house on my 200 acre property in Missouri, how do you go about maintaining low pressure while still living on your parcel? I feel like every time we move around the house the deer are super aware and it impacts the hunting. It doesn’t help that our access road to our house with the property in half. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Awesome video! I just found new land to hunt here in North Texas. About 250 acres of essentially landlocked property. I have pictures of 3 decent bucks, a handful of young bucks and then about three mature does with roughly 5 yearlings on the main piece of the property that I have pics of. I killed one doe two weeks ago.
Do my ratios sound healthy or over populated? Thinking about taking another mature doe on this final weekend.
Great information! Would you recommend a smaller tract with less diversity but area with better deer or a larger tract with more diversity but an area with lower deer numbers/buck quality? Grand Rapids vs houghton lake areas
I hunt 3 parcels for free currently. I weed eat for these land owners for hunting permission. Working for the permission is kinda paying to lease in a way. They know if they stop letting me hunt they will have to pay someone to do the work for them. Finding that 60 acres behind an elderly persons home is key. Killed the buck in my picture on 60 acres of land I weed it to hunt November 7th this year in WV.
I am planning on utilizing the Leasing option. What are the leasing companies that are trustworthy and provide good opportunities to find leases?
What software do you use to design properties? Example, when your showing where to put food plots travel Corredor‘s tree stands etc.
Great info! Do you have actual leases written up or hand shake and cash? Are leases year to year or long term?
Hey Jeff really like these video on buying hunting, definitely something I wish to own someday, one question, you talk about having a good realtor, do you have any opinion on whitetail properties?
I used whitetail properties in ky. Great experience since they realtor was a hunter himself and knew what to look for. Didnt waste my time looking at trash property
After search on Kindle for some books to read, one thing comes up.... I cant find even one of your books!?? What can we do about that?
Where do i find out how much a hunting lease is worth in my area ? It's not a popular hunting area at all.
I'm looking for land my son and I can hunt on in South East Wisconsin
I'm willing to drive for public land. Im in southwest Michigan, what atea is good in your opinion to start looking?
Baldwin
hi great video man really helpful.
Really appreciate it!
I have heard horror stories about 2 guys leasing a property. Then 3 years later their are 9 guys.Might want to make it clear that their will only be 3 of you..
I was just thinking about knocking on some doors to access public land that's hard to access otherwise. I'll wait till next month and take along my Pastor's boy. Maybe even throw in some venison sticks. It'll be hard for them to say no 😉
Hey guys I'm looking to buy 50 acres or so to hunt (or build a house on), does anyone know of a good spot that's not too expensive. I love those posts. Then the replies of people trying to sell a half acre for $20k make it all the better.
I have ground i might sell.
