- What now with the Delta Variant. It is now responsible for most the COVID 19 infection surges globally. And yes...It has now entered the Philippines but so far no evidence of community transmission.
As more and more if Filipinos are vaccinated, now almost 10 Millions doses, do we worry about this Covid 19 Delta Variant?
Is SINOVAC which is the most commonly used Covid 19 Vaccine in the Philippines effective against Delta Variant?
Or are other COVID 19 Vaccines like Astra Zeneca, Pfizer or Moderna better and more Effective against the Delta Variant?
Most information in this video were sourced from the CDC website. Latest news information are sourced mainly from Twitter regarding Covid 19 delta variant outbreak and breakthrough infections after covid vaccinations.

Vaccination is very important BUT.. His logic is wrong
5:30 onwards.. 350 workers out of 5000 workers getting Covid does not tell you the efficacy/effective rate of the vaccine.
You CANT say that 7% had a breakthrough case UNLESS you knew for a fact that ALL 5000 were exposed to the Delta Variant Covid 19. And only 350 of them got it.
It's not a comparison that makes SENSE, you can't conclude that.
What if only 1000 out of the 5000 workers were actually exposed? It would mean that the breakthrough rate is 350/1000 = 35%. This is not factoring in the protection that masks and PPE gives..
Not logical thinking... Sigh, please amend your video, this is misinformation.
But I agree that vaccination is extremely

@@jjandrooney base on your logic 350 indonesian nurse have caught covid out of 5,000 meaning Sinovac has 93% protection againts Covid that is higher as Pfizer efficacy and according to data out of 350 nurses that caught covid only dozen of them have been hospitalize thats 96.6% protection againts hospitalization. Out of 12 only one have been in ICU that is 91.2%. In phase 3 trial Sinovac use health workers (nurses/doctors) that is prone to infection, while Pfizer use random people😂

Sinovac is not the most effective of available vaccines but being an inactivated virus, we can be confident that there will be no long term negative effects. All other vaccines are made using new technology so we cannot be certain that they will not cause any harm long term.
This - main reason why I went with this vaccine rather than waiting for other brands. It still does it job despite of low efficacy.

Thanks doc. Very comforting!
Thanks for the information Doc. God bless you🙏🙏🙏
Very well explained Dr. Gerry Tan. Appreciate your concern. We need doctors like you who cares about one's health thru giving infos like this. Hope those unvaccinated individuals are convinced by your humble gestures. Thank you and God bless!

His logic is not wrong. He is applying the relevant statistical methodology used in all Phase III vaccine trials.
e.g. Pfizer, out of 43K+ participants, half got the vaccine half got a placebo. These individuals were all tracked over 3 months while being in the community. THEY WERE NOT ALL DELIBERATLEY EXPOSED. The result was over 90% efficacy against infection.
Peer-reviewed evidence: www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa2034577

Love to hear ur explanations very clear informative lessened confusions n doubts
he is confusing the people with the % efficacy rates of pfizer and modena, their calculation method is complicated. Your way of computing sinovac as 93% is totally misleading. Comparing an apple with orange./////his conclusion of 93% effectiveness due to the 350 over 5000 vaccinated medical practitioners is not correct. Are all 5000 medical workers didn't wear mask and open for infection? I think most of them are very careful in protecting themselves, so only a few careless workers give the virus a chance to infect. If you want to said effectiveness, then you must know how many of them really open up for infection and only 350 got infected.

@@manchanang7066 exactly! He did not mention if those 93% of doctors who had their second dose of sinovac are also tested positive for covid-19.
The doctor only presented an offhand calculation more for confidence than proof. As unscientific as it may seem, we have to assume that aforementioned med workers were careful & were tested frequently that's why they were found to be infected even if they're asymptomatic.

Dr. gerry I love your video lito ni doc, im looking forward to see you again in person. Keep it up doc.
Thank you Dr. Tan for clear and thorough explanation. Again thank you so much. Keep safe and GOD BLESS
All 3 in my house had Sinovac. 1 caught the bug. The other 2 caught it from him. One had 1 symptom, 1 had tiredness, 1 asymptomatic. I think it worked to reduce sever effects. But, not a magic bullet to stop you getting it.
that's what vaccine does, to train your immune system and make it understand it beforehand, it can't stop one from getting it. some people had severe symptoms because of the virus and the immune system working against the body causing inflammation.
At least can rest at home and recover.
Pfizer , Moderna and Astra also do not stop infection in same household (high viral load). All vaccine works almost the same, they prevent u from getting severely ill (some percentage n not 100% for Delta). Some people still die even when they are double vaccinated with Pfizer. This is scientific data and not media hype.
Happened to my bro in law and family in Bali aft 2 doses of sinovac but they contracted it from their son who had taken Astra. Symptoms were not concerning …that’s why we need vaccines
Thank you dr Tan for the detailed information.

Really appreciate your thorough and clear explanation on the Delta variant. Thanks for your great energy and enthusiasm in promoting and educating us to get vaccinated. Very helpful!👍👏
Please tell me what this Doctor has told you that the MSM has not told you , they are pushing the same narrative.
They are trying to make it out as if everybody is going to die from this virus with their nonsense new variants the virus has mutate thousands upon thousands of times, while a study that just came out from the US and UK showed that only 0.3% died from this virus and those countries where only telling people go home and isolate no treatment was given until they ended up in hospital so if they treated as so as people are tested as positive there would even much less deaths than 0.3%.

Thanks doctor.... For your great explanation i was so worried after get 1st dose of sinovac vaccine. Now is clear..thanks one second again..
Doctor i have a concern since i was diagnosed with high ferrtin level or overload iron which is 1400 plus. Is it ok for me to take vaccine. I also diagnosed with vtach thats why i now have icd device in my chest. Still im undecided to take vaccine...bec of my comordibilities.. ty and hoping for your advice and recommendation..
Of all other vaccines, i trust sinovac than all the other vaccine makers. It is safer to me when you read blood clotting, myocarditis, facial paralysis etc. For effectiveness and efficacy, i trust my own immune system than vaccines. If given a choice, i would not want to take any vaccine.
Thanks for the info doc, really help a lot, stay safe and God bless 🌹
