I hate being hugged by people I don't like.
From people they don’t know or are not close with, there are many. I’m not sure about those that don’t even want loved ones to hug them, but I’m sure it’s a thing. Lots of people at least hate when strangers or people they just met go in for a hug, touch their hair or face, grab their r hands to ask a question, or put their hand on their shoulder. I know I do. It’s syartling, because most people don’t expect to be touched by a stranger/very casual acquaintance. Then, you have that skin-crawling feeling, and realize they didn’t care enough about your comfort to even ask first. If you say something, they... the person trying to TOUCH A STRANGER, act like YOU’RE the one being rude, and weird.

My biggest fear is that I'll fall in love with someone who doesn't like hugging, cuddling, or snuggling.
I don't like to cuddle or hold hands for too long. I can't stand if someone is touching me when I'm sleeping. My husband is very different. He could do those things all day long! Still we've found a perfect way to make it work for both of us and we've been together for almost 11 years and still loving each other more every day :) So don't fear finding someone different - just cherish the special in them!

Your biggest fear is not being touched? Must be not de. Unwanted touch is way worse than the mild disappointment if not getting a hug. One’s a mild blow to the ego... which can be good for you. The ithe is a boundary violation. It’s not my biggest fear, but I do panic when a stranger goes in for a hug, or reaches for my hand, or taps me on the back to get my attention, instead of using words like a human. The last one, and touching my hair, are the worst, because I usually don’t even have the 5 seconds of wantning to brave for impact. Get a teddy bear or a puppy if you can’t handle someone not wanting to cuddle you. They always like physical affection.

So. according to one of your articles on children, they should be taught to be in charge of their own bodies and feel comfortable not giving hugs, kisses etc. Adults, however, who have made it clear that they don't like to be touched for whatever reason, need to confront their "fear" and learn to hug because it makes other people more comfortable? What do you mean by cater to their phobia? People should keep their hands to themselves in general.
It's really quite strange to be anxious about hugging someone - it's one of the most universal and natural things in the world to embrace another person; it transcends almost everything I can think of. I'm glad I like to be hugged.

it is hard for those of us that come from non-touchy families. i never liked being touched and i think it's cause i came from a family where no one really touched me much. now that i'm a grownup, i see how warm and inviting a hug from a friend, or even just an acquaintance can be. i wish i was a hugger that felt open to go in for the hug with everyone i meet. but i feel like i give off a dont-touch-me vibe that i actually have no idea how to break.
