    Has anyone noticed how incredibly detailed oriented this guy is when it comes to his craft? Fast forward to around the 9 minute mark, when he's asked to go over the shots. He remembers everything. What he hit, what his opponents hit, club selection, ball flight, wind direction, ripples in the water, the targets that were selected, where the balls bounced on the green, how the putts rolled. Everything. For him AND his opponents. He remembers the state of the leaderboard at every point in the freaking round, and where every player was positioned score wise on every hole.
    Holy crap!!

    Who is this guy? I mean he's reflective, mature, dignified, eloquent and a total gentleman. What happened to the Tiger that would answer questions with platitudes? I can't wait for his next tournament. BTW, big kudos to Henni Zuel; she just allowed Tiger, with minimal interjections, to express himself totally. One of the very best interviews I've ever seen with any athlete. Thanks!

    • @wreckim
      @wreckim 5 лет назад +2

      @benjamin tarver Benjamin, I've followed Tiger's career pretty much since he was a teen...saw him at the LA Open for his first Professional Tournament; I believe he was 15 or something. He has always been a plastic figure, beguiling, and pretty much a sham when it came to what he was feeling or thinking. It was all about the image, the "C" game that still kicked everyone's behind, but he was not satisfied because it was below his level; which was an insult to his contemporaries. During this interview he almost gleefully admitted his shortcomings and how other players are superior to him insofar as ball-striking. But that's not really the point. He's real...at least I hope so. We need him to be more like Nicklaus, Player, Watson etc... the kids admire their heroes, and he's becoming one that I can tell my son to emulate. That's new.

      @@wreckim I think his experiences in the last decade or so have humbled him to a degree and also brought down his former ego/feelings of invincibility. Couple that with becoming a father, and Tiger has become a changed man.

    One of the most candid and transparent interviews I've seen with Tiger. I know the guy's made some mistakes, but he has really shown some genuine humility and it's refreshing. It's really good for the game in that a lot of people can get behind that in even a much bigger way than the first go around. Golf is just better with Tiger playing well...period, but it's especially gratifying if you can actually relate to him as well

      I am calling it... another repeat slam from Eldrick. He knows almost every course that is played on tour and has a total different approach versus the field. He can win it all if he puts his mind to it.

    At 9:40, this is what separates Tiger from the rest. His ability to encompass EVERY aspect of the game. Not just the field, but the environment, people, and feel of the body. The recollection of passed experiences and aptness to apply it to his shot is incredible. God like in its nature. What we are witnessing will never be seen by any human for generations to come.

    If you looked at the relatively easy putts he missed he could have easily won that tournament by several shots. There is room for improvement and more in him to come.

    It’s said no sportsman is bigger than the Game, Tiger Woods has shown that his greatness may lead to a rethinking of this statement.In my lifetime, I have never witnessed a bigger comeback.When Michael Jordan, says your comeback was bigger than mines, “Three peat, repeat” then you know this was very very special. It’s no surprise that all the doubters and haters for the last 11 years, are nowhere to be seen, or heard.

    It's interesting how in depth Tiger took the approach to the wind and shot on the 12th hole, even noticing and analyzing his competitors' shots from the group ahead while he was on 11. Tiger could've gone for the pin like the others around him did but he took the safe shot and the rest is history. Nothing against Jordan Spieth but I bet you he's wishing he would've done the same the year he made triple on the hole while coming into it with the lead on Sunday. Even in '97 with a huge lead Tiger took the safe shot there, it just shows you how important the general mindset is to win around that course imo.

    For everyone saying what a great interviewer Henni is, you are correct. But what I see here is how comfortable she allows Tiger to feel. You can tell Tiger has a real gentleness with her and this allows us to see a side of Tiger we normally don't see in the wild.
