    Thank you Billy that was an amazing interview. Never can get enough like I said you're producing history something that when we're not here that everybody else will know about him and that way you get the truth. Hopefully next year I will get to meet you at the Museum I would be totally blessed to meet all of you. God bless you and your family

    I loved listening to this man...as much as I think he enjoyed telling it! How great Thou are..is my favorite Elvis song (I think..it can change on a dime..ha) and really loved what he added about Elvis singing it! I always say.."when Elvis sings that song..he is singing it to God..not the audience" and now I'm sure of it! Thank you so much! 🌷

    I know Elvis wore band aids on his fingers because some fans would try to take his rings when he reached down to them. That bothers me that some tried that. I saw him in 1976 but couldn't get close enough. If I had gotten to the stage, I would never have tried to take his rings. I also was due to see him again on August 20, 1977. I wanted to present Elvis with a Rose. I was going to try my darnedest to get to the stage. I never took the ticket back and have the other half ticket from '76 & my ex brother in law who was there also gave me his half. Back then they tore the tickets I'm half.

    • @onecoolguy517
      @onecoolguy517 4 года назад

      The actual reason Elvis wore Band-Aids was because when he would buy new diamond rings, he didn't trust the jeweler to make it the right size if it was too big for his fingers. Some jewelry stores have been known to switch the real diamond, for a fake when sizing someone's ring. And Elvis wasn't going to take that chance, as he would spend in the neighborhood of $ 250,000.00 thousand dollars on jewelry at any given time on a shopping spree!

    Thank you Mr. Spa Guy for another great interesting interview with Mr. Bobby Ogdin. Elvis was surrounded by such talented people in his band and singers. The music back in those days were at its best. Love Moody Blue and How Great Thou Art sung by Elvis. No one can sing How Great Thou Art like Elvis did. There will never be anyone else who had the voice, talent and charisma that Elvis had. We lost him way too soon...miss him. Thankful for your talent Mr. Spa Guy and bringing us such interviews and stories of Elvis trivia and so forth. Tighten up. Have a blessed day.

      PS: Mr. Spa Guy there are a lot of untrue stories and rumors concerning Elvis and the Memphis Mafia out there. The snake story for example. Moody Blue was recorded at Graceland in the jungle room.
      My favorite album because it was his last album. The story goes that he really didn't want to do it or in the mood. A great story on Elvis rings. Nice of those who bought the rings back. Don't think people would be likely to do that today. Was it my mistake or do you think it was on purpose or accident that Mr. Charlie Hodge threw the rings out to the audience ? Tighten up.

      Grandma Kay some of the old live record's you can hear Elvis saying they never did a certin song and it was done live that night. Also youtube Elvis first live songs and you can watch his live unedited videos. Keep in mind they are over 40 years old...

    "He always delivered." That's a fact. He held everyone in the group to a high standard. There were days in that last year when he had to will himself through the shows. He wasn't well. Bobby may be a little dry, but he's not embellishing or making stuff up. He saw Elvis for that hour on stage. Doesn't claim to be a personal friend. Doesn't give us BS about personal conversations.

    Very rare to see an interview with some who worked close to Elvis, where the person doesn’t remember every tiny detail. He’s not afraid to say he didn’t remember instead of making things up.

    Hey Billy, not sure but I think the Moody Blue rehearsal he speaks of may have been done in Charlotte N.C. Elvis performed here on Feb 20 & 21st I think were the dates. He tried to do Moody Blue on the 20th and did not get past the first few bars. The next night 21st he performed the full song. I wonder if that rehearsal was done there. I was at the show and still remember him performing Moody Blue and that was the only time it was ever performed live is my understanding. Great job on this with Bobby, looking forward to the rest!! Great work my friend!

      Elvis should have kept peforming it at the beginning he's not sure of the words and at the end he says sure glad you learned it because I didn't know the chord changes the key or anything. He did a good version but if he'd done it a few more times he'd have really nailed it. ruclips.net/video/D7xBx7zUYog/видео.html

    Mr Ogdin thanks for the great stories. Elvis sure marched to his own drum. Practise at Graceland & Elvis does not show up. Yes Bobby your right as when Elvis sang How Great Thou Art it was like something special happened.It was like Elvis sang the song like a prayer/worship/witness to the world that there was a God & He only God was the Great One. Imagine the greatest most popular most loved most talented singer of all time always taking the time in most of his concerts to include 1-2-3 gospel songs. He was not ashamed to glorify God on stage. Johnny Cash Dolly Parton others did the same...God bless you Bobby. Yes Christ truly is the way truth & life!!!

    Another good one!! I think if Felton had a snake Elvis would have killed it--LOL!! Because Billy Smith said he didn't like snakes. And during Elvis On Tour on the DVD, you can see Elvis throwing a ring out to the audience on purpose. I've heard that sometimes Elvis wore real jewelry and sometimes costume jewelry.

    Interesting conversation about the impersonator standing in for EP. i wonder who that was. Certainly, Johnny Harra was established at that time, but unless he was sworn to secrecy, you never once heard him talk about that. If you're a tribute artist who was a stand-in, wouldn't you brag about that? That's why I'm wondering if it was just a singer and not an impersonator. I will dig a bit on this.
