Thank you so much for that video... Amazing, indeed... Just one suggestion : you should use a RPM counter, so that we could see the quantity of RPM. Hope to learn more very soon. I send you a very big Thank you (from Brussels)
It would be nice if you had a meter, and I forget what they call it, but it counts the rotations of the shaft. This way you could learn how much loss is in the connected devices. If it is the same, you should be able to link them continually.
So is that at a constant psi from the compressor or were you turning it up slowly also i would like to see a gauge on the compressor and output of turbo
Couldn't you just swap the first inlet (source) tube very fast and hook it up to the second turbines exhaust (once it's at max speed) to get a perpetual motion? Would be crazy because that would make it perpetual/free energy..?
One external power source is required ? So how many turbines can be operated from one power source.would the same rpm will be generated from second or third turbines.please say.
definitely not given that the first turbine is using a lot of the energy from the air into the inlet, it will never reach the same rpm but there is a good chance they will be close in rpm
Do... Sigh. They are not 100% efficient. Stop saying they are. It ranges between 60 and 95%. Also they are not more efficient then regular turbines. Basically that whole myth comes from at his time THEY WERE MORE EFFICIENT! That's due to crappy blade designs/not fully understanding aerodynamics at his time. They have there use, they are great, but please please PLEASE can we stop pretending if it's tesla it's better?
I never said it was 100% efficient? That would be perpetual motion and ridiculous. What i said was that if you use these in a multi stage setup you can extract almost 100% of the energy from the air - lets say the first turbine was 80% efficient, 80% of the energy of the air translates to the rotor, the gas containing the other 20% of the energy escapes the exhaust port and goes in to power another turbine where 80% of the remaining 20% of power is taken again, do you understand now? Obviously there will be large losses through heat and friction etc.
People need a Hero, even if their exploits are myth. If the Hero is eccentric and history considers them the underdog, they can achieve Godlike status. Tesla has become a God to some, a Saviour to others.
You know Jack ! a regular turbine is much more complex andd expencive to make. The Tesla turbine as a generator is better in certain uses. Myth ?........

4:22 Goddamn that double wind-up is awesome. :o
You still get compressor surge (from what I heard on the first run), do you mind elaborating on that?

Awesome video. Where did you say that you bought the turbines?

Can you please tell me where can I buy those two air turbine? Answer please thank you

Why is there never any load on any tesla turbines I see?
0:38 I heard, "... the air comes in, does a twerk ..."
:3
gracias
how come this isn't used on a bigger scale?
The back pressure from the exhaust manifold your using would decrease efficiency.
It should do, its worth it to make it pump tho :). They still have the standard turbine without the manifold for sale
How much work is put out?
could you put up a link as to where to get one please.
Hi THXn11,
They're available from EpicPhysics.com here -
www.epicphysics.com/model-engine-kits/tesla-turbine-kit/
awesome. many thanks
will these only work on the horizontal, or will they work vertically also?
That intro needs some music or something - I thought my headphones were unplugged.
Good point, i might look into that thanks
Neat!
How deep of a vacuum will they pull
I'll add a video shortly showing them pumping, they seem to have half decent pull on them
GODB1, new video showing the turbine pumping:)
You need to connect the shafts
you can't get 100% efficiency because of the internal friction and all that noise is wasted energy
no music, gets in the way often.

Did it sync. twice?
yeah, i heard that too?
¿ y la descripcio ?
Description added, sorry :)

Yeah and regular ones have temperature-related complexes.
