@@DeanSilvester Good day Dean, a few rivers are still high and discoloured but hopefully all will go beck to good old days soon.We are heading out to fish lake Tarawera.Awesome lake with good size Trout, last week we landed a two years old fish and it was 2.3 Kg, stunning rate of growth mate.Tight lines and happy fishing.
wow only two years at that size, must be some great food source for them in there not just insects, good to hear about the rivers, i am very keen to get over there for a look with Jelena
Great stuff Silvey enjoyed watching you guys very much my home lol and awesome to see Duane and he was back out the other day with the family cheers buddy..👏👍🎣👌
What!! I didn't see this video coming! So awesome mate I loved every second of it . Yesterday morning I got a 93cm saltie in a little creek landbased it was insane. On my all time favourite top water lure, luckycraft gunfish. Thanks for another great video mate, and how good are the saltie rods yeow!!!! 👍🏻🎣♥️
@@DeanSilvester absolutely mate they're my favourite. I love how they work so well with a slow retrieve, fast, subtle, aggressive, great action either way. The only small downside is the paint comes off very easily on raspy barra mouths, but that's no biggy. Battle scars tell stories haha 😎
@@DeanSilvester Keeping with the Shimano theme, I got a new tranx 150 the other day and put it on my champion extreme 702c as my light casting setup. It's one of those combos that's a match made in heaven it's perfectly balanced and a dream to use 👍🏻
I have the 150 as well for my light combo and can't wait to use it, yep battle scars are the best. Didn't lose to much paint on them with the US bass but the barra are a whole different story
@@DeanSilvesterdef big silvey im frothing to do a barra trip fishing the run off on molix shad ive got a cod trip down south to do hopefully I'll get a big wild murry cod
Did a trip up there end of March. Was awesome, got a 94, 98 and of coarse lost the possible Metre at the boat. Did the helifish, epic day with Jock. And a charter with Barra or blue, Tom got us on some fish quick. If your a fisho, NT runoff is a bucket list trip🤟🤟
Nice mate! Gotta love the runoff period in the Salt! It’s like nothing else with all the other things that want to chew on you and all the bird life that comes alive with the runoff! Great footage and well edited too! DM’d you on Insta too mate!
Well, Mate! You have to wear these huge fish down. What a jump he made. Dean, What rod do you use? A heavy composite type? Do the swim bait have any Rattles? That's really muddy water your fishing. These fish jump like smallies in America. Shawn from the States.
Hey legend, no composite all full graphite rods. I did have a rattle in the first soft plastic i was using but i found that a standard version worked better in the end. They must have incredible lateral line senses to key in on that soft plastic in that water
@@DeanSilvester I agree Dean. Just like cranks. Rattle or no Rattles. But in the mixed water of salt and fresh and muddy. It seems Rattles would be what they prefer. I bet your wrists were sore after this fishing trip. Trying to move about on that boat with two or three others. Not a small task! Very powerful fish or tank I mean! Another great video. Keep expanding your fishing. I hope I run into one in a lake here in The States. Shawn.
Hey legend, yes very exciting fish to catch, i am planning to come back to the USA, maybe once this year and a couple of times next year to try to do a couple of tournaments so will keep everyone in the loop with that one.
Thanks for tuning in legends, I had fun with this one. Hope you like the intro! A little bit different...

So many barra's in that small creek😱😱
wat kind of lures for that kind of muddy water u guys use?
Hey mate, Duane typically uses rattling gold bomber etc but i had the most bites of all of us on the Molix Shad 140. Soft plastic

Nice Barra mate 🤙
Thanks 👍
You out fish hard bodies on the troll?
Yep, Molix shad was killing it.
by the sound's of it oldmate lost his first eye to a fishing rod🤣
haha, he must have been hooked a few times, hated the rods pointed his way. He actually had an unfortunate accident and is very lucky to be alive.
Nice one mate..
Thanks legend
The big guy is eating all the barra's, that's probably why you are catching so many.
hahahahahaha
@DeanSilvester Oh, boy. I look illiterate. I meant, aren't. That's why the call me. Wile E Coyote, Suuper Genius!
