My grandfather survived WWI, he was a farmer's son, he himself farmed on Zion Road, near Belleville, Ontario, Canada. He was Lieutenant William Roy Sills of the 47th Battalion. Grandpa Roy had 13 children by two wives. He was laid to rest in the Bethel Zion cemetery where my own parents remains are as well. We are all here for such a very short time, we need to make the best of what time we have, and never let another war take so many of our young men, and women again!

So are they Engineers or mechanics on strike? I did not know WestJet would even hire engineers? Do they design their own aircraft now?
An engineer is also a higher level of mechanic... one who has to supervise the work the mechanics do and make sure it was done properly in order to sign it off as completed. Yes, they can often make suggestions as to a design change, but most will be involved with the maintenance of aircraft.
