As much as it pains me to say it though, I personally think Neji's death couldn't have been anymore perfect for the completion of his character. He lived majority of his childhood believing that his fate was predetermined and there was nothing he could do to change that. But then Naruto really hit it home for him, by not only defeating him. But by defeating him with a jutsu he sucked with, to the point he failed graduation 3 times. (The clone jutsu.) But through hard work and effort, he mastered it to the point that it became one of the main staples of his fighting style. Proving to Neji that his fate isn't predetermined and that he can take it into his own hands, through great effort. And in that moment, Neji lived by that. By determining his own fate, through his sacrifice to save Hinata. A person he once looked down upon because of his beliefs.
What I was sad and upset about in this one scene is that no one even at least tried to heal Neji not even Sakura she heals shikamaru but not my boi Neji
Because neji tried to attack hinata hiashi had to step in and Protect his Daughter. I think you would do the same if someone tried to attack your kid if you have a kid

To be honest, It should've been Hiashi (Hinata's Father). Hiashi treated Hinata badly, calling her a "Faliure" and "Disgrace". His sacrifice for his daughter and The Hyuga Clan could've been a redemption arc for him. That way, NaruHina would've been still canon, Neji would've been still alive, get a small/big arc for his character, becoming the leader of The Hyuga Clan, Train Himawari even marry Tenten.

It would have make a more impact then how they treat Boruto and Himawari bc obviously, the kids are Hokage's children, but having normal Hyuga kid can clearly show the change. Especially if Hanabi is still the heir, they can then show fair treatment to every Hyuga even if you are not going to be the heir or better, giving Neji's kids the opportunity to become the leader even if their father is not one. But Neji become the leader would also great.
Spoiler alert... 10/18/19 It is BORUTO's fault... Boruto went to the past.. They cant see boruto because he is outside the rules of the past... Hinata tried to save Naruto and of course Boruto wouldn't want her mother die.. So Boruto tried to shield them with his body but Neji miraculously saw Boruto and saved them all by shielding them with his body.. Neji: You hold more than one life in your hands....
