Another great video. What sets Caleb apart from the myriad tech channels out there is that he gets right to the point. There is no extra talking, there is no baiting, there is no politicizing. He shows you the gear in almost every shot. He mentions the practical applications. He shows you the gear in action. So many channels talk endlessly and show a five-second clip at the end of the gear in action. Caleb gets it. And that is why he is so successful.

I bought four of these a while ago - purchased another one recently. Love them. Have them mounted on tripods, gimbal, monopod etc. and of course cameras.
I didn't hear you mention it at the end, but maybe I missed it - the F38 Falcam plates also generally seem to be compatible with Arca Swiss clamps. Both components, actually - the bottom piece has a dovetail groove on two sides that appear to be specifically designed to make it possible to throw it on an Arca Swiss mount; and the top piece (that one would put on the camera, for instance) seems to match up totally securely with all the arca swiss clamps I have. I looked into it ages ago and found that there were a lot of people out there who were extremely frustrated that the Arca Swiss standard is a little goofy sometimes (seemingly using inches, for instance, which leads to a standard like "1.5 inch, or 38.1mm, width" specified for the base plate), but I think I might've only had one QR unit that didn't work with F38. i honestly couldn't tell you which one it was - it couldn't have been a clamp that i used a lot or i think i would've remembered it better.

Awesome, I've decided to go all out and have all my gear adapted to F22, 38, and 50 system. efficiency level just shoots up. It actually makes settingup and disassembling gear quick, FUN !!!!😀, and lets you focus your energy on actual production.
I have the F38 system, and while it’s great, my biggest gripe with it is the fact it lacks the option of longer plates for mounting your camera rig to tripods etc, it doesn’t have dual pins either to screw into the bottom of your camera cage securely.
I just got the bigger f38 for all my cameras to swap from tripods to my gimbal and I love it. The click in and locking is amazing. They also make gimbal specific plates but it is SO much faster to move around and be flexible when I'm shooting

Hi Andrea, thanks for your comment. I've been scrolling through all the comments to see what people who bought the cage and handles had to say about this system. Has your experience with their product changed since you wrote this comment? I'm looking to get my first cage and handles (top + sides) for my Sony A7IV, but Caleb didn't recommend the cage in this video, I'm wondering how your experience has been, and if you're of the same mind.
@@andreabozzi6197 Thanks a lot for such a prompt response. I'll take your advice and order it. I've spent the past two days researching all the options out there in terms of cages, and their different benefits, but I really like the Falcam system and was a bit on the fence regarding the lack of customization of the cage, and the fact that you couldn't change the position of the top handle in case you needed to shift it to keep it balanced. But I'm glad you could confirm my thoughts about it, and I'll get it today. Thanks a bunch, Andrea!
I bought the F38 system twice and wanted to love them. It just bugged me that they didn’t slide in smooth. Like i saw in your video the F22 also suffers from a metal on metal feeling where sometimes you have to wiggle or force them to go on and off. We’re trying out the Smallrig Hawklock mini qr system right now. But They don’t have anywhere near the accessories that the Falcam system does.
The reason I feel this can happen is because the machining tolerances on this system are very tight so it locks rock solid with no play if you look at parts of the vid you will see he pushes the button wich I too have done to get it started then it locks in. I have tested some of this gear so I know this to be the case but I would rather have something that fits with zero play then something slightly loose that may slide in easier. Overall I think this gear is very well made.
Great video. I have used the F38 system for a long time already. I have the F38 quick-release shoulder strap version and a couple more regular for different tripods. Very useful one considering that it's Arca-Swiss compatible. BTW, the F38 system has an optional base plate that is also compatible with Peak Design quick release system. Very useful when one has two systems in use like F38 on a ball head and Peak Design on a backpack. Falcam is a product line of Ulanzy, competitor of SmallRig.
I have attached the F38 on all my tripods and Gorillapods. Love it. Unfortunately the Peak design compatible base plate doesn’t work on the peak design tripod for some reason.
Check out the Prices, they're actually not bad at all!!.. I was ready to say "Yeah DSLR Guy, but how much will all of this cost?" Well it actually is very decently priced. VERY NICE. Thanks for the thorough review, I will definitely get a few of these.
More and more of the products for the F22 system are being discontinued. Its not clear at this point if Ulanzi has abandoned the entire system. Also, as some have posted, without locking pins for the small adapter plates, they can easily come loose. You need locking pins, or plates with 2 screws to really secure the system when using Magic Arms or the small pan/tilt head.
On cameras that large I would probably go with a Nato Handle and then use the F22 system for the rest of the rig. Komodo is probably fine but the FX9 is a thick boy!
THANK YOU for the heads up about this! One of the most frustrating things about having a Small Rig cage on my a6400 is getting it all set the way I want it, and then needing either to pack it up to travel, or to need a change of setup. Out comes the allen key and it is just so time consuming. This looks like a fantastic alternative.
