You're going to have to lobby your MP for change - rod licence money goes towards funding fisheries enforcement. It's not the EA's fault that they're criminally underfunded, it's political.
@ashab1 according to keir starmer hes going to sort it by stopping bonus payments to water company execs. Despite having no authority over how private limited companies pay their execs. This is assuming of course he'll have time after fixing 100,000 pot holes, building 1.5 million homes, 300 prisons, making the nhs work weekends, getting dentists to look at 100,000 kids teeth, (despite them being self employed and him having no power over them) build 300 new gp sugeries, (despite the fact he cant staff them, cure the boats problem by investigating and arresting the gangs, (they operate abroad no power over them either, but he probably means he'll just let them in) and the rest of the crap promises he's made! Maybe to fund all this he'll put fishing licences up 😂😂😂
Yes them big company needs more inspiration and bigger fines when dumping Someone needs to start a petition going you'll easily get 150,000 signatures 💯
Great work by you and the volunteers. No excuses for leaving litter anywhere. Prosecutions and penalties need to be lots more rigorous. Well done to you all 👍🏻
Well done for a brilliant job , guys . Its disgusting that some people don`t take care of such beautiful surroundings . But I do believe that there are more of us that do care than the ones who dont . People like yourselves inspire the rest of us to keep the countryside clean . Thank you !
Just come across you. What a great effort. You and the volunteers do. Hope the ones who got chaught get fined also told to clean up after the fishing season along the banks. Keep the great work up. Not hard to take your own rubbish away and clean up. Respect others who use this river. 👍
Huge respect on the work you put in m8! EA are totally useless- me and many of our club members reported poaching to them dozens of times and nobody did anything! But i did get an email to say thames water would be dumping more shit into the river! ITS BEYOND A JOKE!
God bless.this lovely river is here for all to enjoy and respect please do the right thing and respect mother nature in all her glory keep these places clean and safe for all to enjoy well done the people doing the hard work on the day 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great work. Brock means Badger...I believe. That was a magnificent deep bodied roach in that pikes mouth. Don't know if she can swallow it. The mess some anglers leave behind.. then they complain if public give them grief. Where are they in their heads I ask? The mighty nir nir having a fine time sniffing out the litter ..
Well in, mate! Similar thing happened to me a few years ago. Caught some slimeballs netting. Cops called...all sorted. Gotta take action when this shit is seen. 👍
ian, perhaps next time you are planning to do a litter pick, you should advertise it here.people may come along. Maybe you could give us some angling tips while we are there. as you know I only live local and if available would gladly pop down to help. Jim
Absolutely commendable for the great effort you and the volunteers put in trying to keep our rivers clean and Safe 👍 just a thought ! How's about when these disspicable poachers are caught and prosecuted Why don't the court put a order on them to do a form of community service instead of a fine ? And do a form of voluntary work party's on the river bank they have been caught at poaching ?

Litter is the blight of the UK. If you get 5 years prison for killing someone by stabbing you can imagine littering or fly tipping would be 10 minutes community service.
So just a question. I've started fishing recently with my mate from work in the local river, tidal and a bit higher up so non tidal. I do have a 2 rod licence so I was just wondering then am I allowed to fish there? I'm only asking because I saw the long lining video and I'm not really sure what that is, so is spinning and float fishing alright?

Lets hope they can start putting the licence money towards prosecututing big companies that are polluting the rivers all over the country.
My locals polluted with raw sewage she's slowly dying 😢
Rod licence money isn't for prosecuting pollution offences, thatvfunding comes from a totally different funding stream.
