In US news and current events today, people on social media are raising questions about this man clad in black casually smashing the windows of a business in Minneapolis.
Footage circulating on social media shows a man wielding a hammer casually walking up to an AutoZone during the Minneapolis protests for George Floyd and smashing windows as other protesters plead with him to stop. This was one of the first and only stores vandalized during the first night of Minneapolis protests.

They probably weren't cops. There is a problem with white supremacists doing this during black issues protests to discredit the protests and blame blacks for the violence. Antifa does this too, but in large groups, not alone like this.
This is happening in a lot of cities in an effort to appear that most demonstrations aren’t peaceful, but filled with looters prone to violence. They’re so peaceful they didn’t even tackle him.

Let me. Say that in my youth I would not be there without my weapon of choice. When he swung at me he would have both arms and legs broken in seconds and maybe a few cracked ribs. Disabling a criminal is self defense in my eyes and anonymity in case of wrongful prosecution is a must.

it's very likely that the guy in pink was hired to act as the person pretending to confront the agent provocateur so other real protesters won't have to, allowing the man to leave.
Saw that one too. It's practically right after those two walked off the parking lot. Looked to me like he was still following that guy, and since he's a guy that is like “You wanna go? That’s wassup. Somebody hold my blunt”, I bet he was just pestering him.

Looks like the protest has come to an end,and peaceful dispersion is underway. As a person recording,pans the camera to the left,they catch mr pink and darth umbrella walking along shoulder to shoulder,engaged in what looks like friendly conversation.

And mr pinks shirt are some colour code to identify "the players" so the police know who's who.

Nobody truly knows who he is and it all depends on your point of view. Pro-protesters say it's a cop, anti-protesters say it was a black guy (for some reason black guy when we clearly see there are white people protesting too), I for one think it's an anti-protest guy trying to incite violence
No one knows for sure. It is speculation at this point and most likely will remain simply speculation as its unlikely that any proof will ever be found. Cop or not, the person is clearly not a protester or even a looter but seems to be encouraging riot/looting. If it were a protester they would not have gotten defensive when confronted by a protester, If he was a looter why smash out the windows and walk away? you do not see anyone else carrying an umbrella to prevent from being seen by cameras whether they be protesters or looters. It was clearly someone who knew what they were doing.
