yet another great GOFFIN/KING song ........what a great partnership this turned out to be for bobby vee/gerry goffin/carole king so many hits!!...timeless music
Bobby Vee died today, and it is starting to get to me. Been a lot of years, memories. You realize how much time has passed. Good guy. Some great songs that send you back to that time. It was a different world then, of course. Not everyone just "hanging out"...staring at their cell phone. There were real relationships back then. Long-distance phone calls. Love letters. Knowing when someone left, or moved, you might never see them again, talk to them again. Feelings...real friends. Paul / Texas
Truthfully and beautifully put. I'm so glad I was a part of those days! They were the best, best days of my own life. Bobby sang the back round music of it! Love him.
Paul, I so agree, think you are in the USA I am in UK, but I was a teen, when I listened to Bobby Vee, just loved his songs, I was a teen and in those days, like you say, no cell phones, thank goodness, we had the best days..romance..yes, real friends, still have my 3 lovely friends from school days..those were the days x x
When I was a kid, 45s cost 98 cents - a chunk of money for me then. Still, I saved and bought Bobby's "Take good care of my baby." I played the grooves off of it. Needless to say, Bobby Lee is one of my all-time, lifetime favorites.
Very sad to hear the news that Bobby Vee has passed away today, Oct. 24, 2016 as a result of Alzheimer's that he was diagnosed with several years ago. Condolences' to his sons and other family & friends.
My wife's favourite singer, took her to see him for her 40th in manchester,he walked on stage she said that's not Bobby vee, very small and very bald, she thought he would look the same as he did in the 60s,but what a fantastic voice singing live
Met Bobby at the Fiesta Club in Norton-Stockton on Tees, great guy with presence and humility, his show brought the house down needless to say the ladies thought so as well! That period was absolutely brilliant for talent like Bobby there were so many around, brings back warm memories, bless em all.
Bobby Vee..... pray for him... early onset of Alziemers. His wife of nearly 50 years just received a lung transplant. Pray for them both. A wonderful singer, and a great, warm human being! One of my all time favorites.
The blonde go go dancer in this video is considered the best ever dancer of her time!! Bye the way,, this song is my all time favorite!! Rest in peace bobby,,, thanks for the memories.
He began to come to National attention in February 1958 as he finished The Winter Tour after the tragedy that took Buddy Holly,Richie Valens and The Big Bopper. One of Vee,s band members was an unknown guitarist named Robert Zimmerman who would go on to become Bob Dylan.R.I.P Bobby Vee gone to soon at 73...
Yes it was feb 59. Its burned in my memory that buddy holly died a couple of weeks before i was born, march 59. Oh what a loss, who knows what he might have accomplished
Thank you for the post.Enjoyed it lots. I always loved this song. Bobby and Gene Pitney had a similar "tone" and "style" on certain songs, don't you agree? Either way ... big applause!
I never noticed him sounding somewhat like GENE PITNEY until now, at certain spots in phrases. VEE outlived PITNEY by about ten years. "Love you more than I can say" is one of my favorites by BOBBY VEE.🎉🙂
look at Bobby's collection--this is really his best song even though it didn't reach as high on the charts as some other songs--many time an artist's best songs aren't his or hers most popular
I miss those days when guys have clean short haircuts n clean cut smart suits. N d music! So soothing n relaxing it makes me so happy. N i m a child of d 70s. D older i get d more i like music of 50s.🥰
I was stationed in West Germany in 1965, so I have no idea what that show was called, but the dancing to "Sharing You" just didn't fit the ballad. Bobby had a great run back in the day and is still one of my favorite singers from that era. He's gone, but his music lives on. Those of us a certain age who remember listening to Bobby on AM radio and dancing to his music will also be gone one of these days.
In '65, Bobby was still with Liberty Records, & being produced by Snuff Garrett, with The Johnny Mann Singers doing background vocals. -------MJL, 76 y/o
Does nayone have any details on Bobby's 1965 tour? It is my understanding that my (late) great uncle toured with him as a member of the group the Madisons
Bobby vee was truly great he had a lot of good singers back then people like Bobby Darin of course Buddy Holly died in 59 The Beach boys but Bobby vee really was special I remember when the Beatles came along everybody's been crazy over and they were a bunch of losers druggies godless they said they were more popular than Jesus Christ and supposedly John Lennon on the top of some form of motel pissed on some nuns well he finally got his come up and too bad and he was always an idiot seems like a lot of musicians of that time. That came after the 60s or idiots specially between 64 and 73 but there are still some great people Bobby vee was one of these
There's so many comments here so I may have missed it: What show is this from? It looks like it might be from the same show that there are clips of The Ventures and We 5 singing there hits. The blonde dancer and the background seem to be the same.
It was a part of the show. The main goal was to make it beautiful and gather audiences at both TV and live entrance. But a vast majority of them also starred on shows where they'd sing live. It was the bands mostly, pre-Beatles era pop music was all about shows with backgrounds and lipsync.
Loved all of his songs!
Never gets old ! I was just a small kid in 65 and loved it then. Still loving it to this day 58 years later.
Bobby Vee was just one of those smooth singing guys that never got nearly enough credit!
And he was a gentleman his entire life.
Bobby Vee was one of the best singers of the 20th century
Such a talented young man with an exceptional voice!
yet another great GOFFIN/KING song ........what a great partnership this turned out to be for bobby vee/gerry goffin/carole king so many hits!!...timeless music
Bobby Vee should be in the R and R Hall of Fame.
WHY? HE NEVER SANG ROCK AND ROLL, BUT SOMEWHAT FAST-PACED, RHYTHMIC SONGS LIKE THIS, AND SOFT, "ADAGIO SUSTENUTO" ROMANTIC BALLADS.
Respectfully 😊🤠
@@miltonmoore8369 the Rock n ROLL HALL OF Fame had every genre. Not just rock and roll but more than that! Check it out
Yes he did sing rock and roll

It can bother us because our time to leave is coming.
Remember, "only whats done for Christ" will last.
You nailed it beautifully!
Truthfully and beautifully put. I'm so glad I was a part of those days! They were the best, best days of my own life. Bobby sang the back round music of it! Love him.
Well said xxx

Bobby Vee is my favorite of all the Bobbys.
I grew up with this " bubblegum " music and it is still the greatest.
Keep it coming.
We lost another great one...Ty Bobby for the songs I sang all the time. Ty for letting me grow up in my teen years..RIP Bobby
Damn I loved this man.
When I was a kid, 45s cost 98 cents - a chunk of money for me then. Still, I saved and bought Bobby's "Take good care of my baby." I played the grooves off of it. Needless to say, Bobby Lee is one of my all-time, lifetime favorites.

I know what she felt. Hard to believe those heart throbs were no longer n just the same as other old men of our era.
One of Bobby's best.
thank you for all the great songs Bobbie.
Met Bobby at the Fiesta Club in Norton-Stockton on Tees, great guy with presence and humility, his show brought the house down needless to say the ladies thought so as well! Bobby Vee deserves to b in Hall of Fame for sure! All his songs were good.
Bobby Vee..... pray for him... early onset of Alziemers. His wife of nearly 50 years just received a lung transplant. Pray for them both.

He should be one of the next R n R hall of famers!
He brought wonderful music to so many..

Robert Zimmerman played the piano, not the guitar and it was 1959 not 1958-how do people come up with this crap.
Yes it was feb 59. Its burned in my memory that buddy holly died a couple of weeks before i was born, march 59. Oh what a loss, who knows what he might have accomplished
This stirs my soul!

+Peter Mcnamara Yes, either this song or "A Forever Kind of Love".

I love all of his songs, but this one is his best by far. Love the dancers!!!
This breaks my heart
I remember these songs playing at school noon hour sock hops.
I was stationed in West Germany in 1965, so I have no idea what that show was called, but the dancing to "Sharing You" just didn't fit the ballad. Legend
This song was 50 years ago no.9 in the world charts
BOBBY VEE = LEGENDARY SINGER 1960s GREAT SO MANY ALL TIME CLASSIC HITS ++
In '65, Bobby was still with Liberty Records, & being produced by Snuff Garrett, with The Johnny Mann Singers doing background vocals. -------MJL, 76 y/o
A Classic takes me back yo my teens
The great Carol King wrote this great song for Bobby Vee the late and great.
'There's two of us to kiss you
Two of us to miss you
And two of us to wish there were
two of you.'
Great tune!
David Nightingale
Right now, wish that there were two of me. :-)
Me too .
I know I'm sharing you
And I am sharing you.
Not Bad. Was not what I was looking for. But I enjoyed to very much
Gene Pitney similarities...they were contemporaries . Gene wrote Rubber Ball...Gene is better remembered but Bobby had his time and place.
Terrific song terrific singer!
I always liked his songs all the back to My Ters Are Falling
Great great pop song, when pop was great :D
Good!
great
Does nayone have any details on Bobby's 1965 tour? It is my understanding that my (late) great uncle toured with him as a member of the group the Madisons
PBUY, Bobby.
@MrAnthonyVance He does have the same vocal quality as Gene on some songs. I agree. I really liked the late Gene Pitney and still love Bobby Vee.
I was in love with Kinda Hatton. I was 14, I was sure he was not true me. I listened to this until I wore out the grooves in my 45.
How come I know all the words of this ? Jeeez, how old am I ? ;)
I'm 17 and I know all the words to this...
It was in 1962.
sounds a touch like gene pitney here, great song!!!!
A better time then not wham bam thankyou mam like now I might be biased I was courting my husband then and we're still married
Wonder whatever became of that go-go dancer.
ATTOY!!!!
but im never gone 2 give you up xx
Early-60s Vee & Co shared the clean-cut crack, not wild nuff fer Rock n Roll, too tame fer Disco A Go Go.
Bobby loved Buddy holly, and you can hear it in his voice. He sounded a lot like him, no doubt !
There's so many comments here so I may have missed it: What show is this from? It looks like it might be from the same show that there are clips of The Ventures and We 5 singing there hits. The blonde dancer and the background seem to be the same.
Great, did we really dance like that at 1.00
♥️✨🌟🌈
Kathleen, even though I'm sharing you but you'll never ever be sharing me.
Jim Even 😊Nice one Jim
Hope you're alright. I'm in the same boat. Stay strong.
Who is the girl right in front of bobby??? Gorgeous!!!
Who is the woman dancing right in front of Bobby??? Anyone know???
Anyone know who the girl dancing right in front of Bobby is???? So cute
bro she’s probably like 80 now 💀
2018
Just noticed he's using two drummers. Maybe they used that to get the Spectoresque sound ??? Even though this was lip synched !!!
Anyone know who the woman dancing right in front of him???
Anyone know who the lady is right in front of him????
The girl dancing right in front of him, Who are you???
He suffered from dementia at the end of his life.. sad
BRIL SO IS THE SONG , XLX
@texasray1000 just read comments below,i was stating the obvious i guess!!!
no offence, but were there any 50's/60's artists who never lip synced their 45's during "live" performances?
It was a part of the show. The main goal was to make it beautiful and gather audiences at both TV and live entrance. But a vast majority of them also starred on shows where they'd sing live. It was the bands mostly, pre-Beatles era pop music was all about shows with backgrounds and lipsync.
Bobby vee actually dated one of my old girlfriends, sharing you with her, meaning no pun
I dont think hes singing live! 🤔🤣🤣
The dancing does not fit with the music
This must be one of the worst songs ever to be recorded by a male singer. Absolutely repulsive lyrics.
What do you know about real music. Bobby was awesome.
