An update - thank you all so SO much for your kind words and those people that supported me financially - you guys are amazing! I never like to complain or ask for support, as no one wants to show off their weak side, but I really wanted to be honest with all of you about the struggle of running the channel, about the mistakes I've made over the years, about burning out and restarting again. For anyone out there that is struggling - don't think it's just you. We all struggle. We just don't talk about it openly.
I love connecting with all of you. And having met some of you on my trips around the world, I'm proud to say I have a community of intelligent, curious and worldly people. You may not have the ability to travel, but you're curious about the world, about other people and about other perspectives and that says a lot about you. I'm still trying to crack the code on dating in the UK so I hope you will come back to that topic in the future! I really enjoyed your "You Know You're Dating a..." videos but I understand that they were very effort-intensive to produce. I definitely learned a lot on your one-on-one podcast interviews so it would be great to have more of those (for instance, now I know not to try dating in Norway 😉). You're doing great work!
If you are based in London then you are wasting your time.
I actually really want to explore more of areas like Manchester and Liverpool to show the other lesser seen side of the UK

Biggest problem trying to meet foreign women is them asking for money.
Being a RUclipsr is incredibly difficult. People think it's easy, but it's the absolute opposite.
I understand a lot of your reasoning is based on economics and that is completely understandable, but I hope at the end of the day, you are able to realize the incredible impact you've had on thousands, if not millions, of people worldwide and have already left yourself a legacy you can be proud of.
Thank you so much! Yes, there are times that I definitely blame myself for not doing it "better". I love doing this, but it has definitely taken over my life. For anyone wanting to work for themselves - this is something to keep in mind. You have to be an obsessed workaholic to do this 😂

Marina, you have no idea how deeply i appreciated your content. Like you, I'm someone who is deeply interested in learning and exploring different cultures through the lens of intercultural relationships. I don't have the finances nor opportunities to live the life you had at the moment, so i was vicariously living that life through your content. Thank you so much! Yes.. for some reason the algorithm hated me lately and my videos were barely recommended to anyone. That's what happens with RUclips - one minute everything is great and then they switch something and that affects the channel.

RUclips is not paying as good as before, there are less ads and higher taxes, it becomes harder every year
Please if you can, do more parts of every European dating culture. I’m so eager to know which one is my best fit, though I know there is test.

I'm really sorry to hear that Marina. Your channel has helped me so much over the years to learn about different cultures, and how diverse and unique we all are. I do understand there is an over-saturation of content on youtube that is making creators like yourself difficult to keep afloat. Hopefully excellent and well-researched content like yours will stand out amongst the competition. I know it always doesn't, but it should. I agree with you that loneliness in the world is one of the major issues, as well as our changing values on commitment, and those definitely need to be more discussed in the global rhetoric. I would love to see your channel exploring those issues in greater depth and questioning our ideas around it - perhaps even a friendly international debate? ;) I noticed in your 'least to most...' videos that different cultures have wildly different perspectives on these issues, and would be interesting to see a friendly roundtable debate / discussion type video posing some of these topics. I imagine you would have a wealth of interesting information to draw upon / research in that space. All the best with this channel and your other endeavours Mariana. Honestly, at this point the main part is the finances which will affect the way the channel is run: whether I can delegate editing again, hire a bigger team, travel to more locations, expand production - so that's what I'm figuring out currently

Hello, I think one of the big mistakes of this Channel is not add the subtitles in other languages. You can reach much more countries with the correct subtitle.
Marina, I started watching dating beyond borders like 1 week ago .I loved your content as I was living in Australia where there is international diaspora , your videos gave me tons of clearity and made me aware about other cultures and value.

I have followed you since the beginning. Toronto was a super muticultural city back then, and the content on interacial dating is a true reflection of life here. The city has changed for the worse, dating culuture is getting crazy and people do grow over this dating-focused phase of life. Hope you can find new ambition!
Yes - agree with you on this. Also talking to people in Toronto and abroad is a very different entity so it felt more right to go abroad 100 %
Forget dating so much as the main reason . Of course any one forming a relationship with one of the opposite sex is great but it is perhaps a main reason that after that euphoric few months with someone, one realises that sex was the motivating force. At the end of the day, it is a deeper compatibility that proves a lasting complètement. Also having things in common might be a starting point but not necessarily. Humanity that embodies empathy might be one’s goal. There are many out there who, even unknown to themselves lack a greater or lesser degree of empathy. These poor people who seek intimacy do so because real intimacy is unavailable to them. Sex is their way to gain that. For. For normal empathetic people they should avoid them at all costs for they will wander the land not knowing why they cannot find a compatible partner. I have experience of this pit fall.

You are doing a wonderful job in bringing cultural nuances on dating to light. It is something I am fascinated about as well. Really enjoyed all your videos and as a creator myself I can really understand it. You could try to do more "cheap" formats like podcasts, reactions or street interviews. They seem to be going quite well nowadays on RUclips. It's sad that quality isn't valued in social media anymore, it's more about posting as often as you can... please don't loose the fun!
