    Thanks for this video and making the Lightburn files available.
    This is an excellent example of how settings will vary from one laser to another even though they may be rated at the same wattage. I have an ATEZR P20, and loaded the 20 watt version of your file.
    Had to tweak settings to get a result that approximates yours. That is why it is a good idea for users to always run a material test first!

    That looks great Roger. I think I will try this on my Creality Falcon 10W. Thanks for sharing!

    I can confirm that if you have the Longer Ray 5 20w, you can use his file as is. Just rotate it 90° as he mentioned.

    Hey there im glad I stumbled upon your video!! Thanks for the file!! Oh do you have settings for 40w laser? Thanks in advance😊

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  10 месяцев назад

      I have not used a 40 watt on bamboo, but you certainly can. Suggest running a test on scrap starting with 1/2 the power used for a 20 watt as a beginning test point.

      @@rogersshop well today I installed Lightburn on my xtool s1 40w and for some reason it won't do anything but go to home. I also downloaded your coaster container and I get it to work...Have any suggestions? thanks in advance

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  10 месяцев назад +1

      You need to install the Lightburn config file: xTOOL_S1_V2.lbdev which can be downloaded from their site here: support.xtool.com/article/1036 The site also gives instructions on how to install.@@slyman6776

      I just grabbed a few random bamboo boards from mine. Was lucky to find some with no branding on them for cheap.

    For a 5w laser can you just run the 10w file twice?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  10 месяцев назад

      The differences are not necessarily linear. It "may" work, but best to run a test on a scrap or sacrificial piece.

    Hi Roger, firstly, thanks for the video. What are the settings for a 10 Watt laser?

  • @74mythos
    @74mythos 11 месяцев назад +1

    I downloaded this file, I have the Longer Ray5 20w, and no matter what i do in its original orientation when i frame it i get a soft limit error, now if i rotate it 90° it will frame it. Ive not tryed to run it yet, as i get the same errors trying to do your 400x400 location board.
    When i set it up in lightburn i set it to 410x410. Any ideas?

      Working area with the 20 watt model head is 375 x 375mm due to the larger size of the 20w head. You will need to change the setup in Lightburn to 375 x 375 mm (14.76" x 14.76"). From a blank page in Lightburn, make a 375 x 375mm square. Center it. Set to Absolute Coordinates, then run the "frame" function. This is a test to make sure it travels the full dimension.
      I may do a video on this "test" as I get asked many times about the "boundaries".

      Ok changing my reply, My longer Ray5 has a Y of 360 and X of 400 (verified via touch screen) so rotating the bamboo board will work. Now to work on a 360x400 board.....
      40mm is alot of lost space in the grand scheme of things, but it's my first laser to learn on.

    How do I get your file, your website wanted my credit card ##
    Thanks, Ed

      That is not required unless you put something in the cart that has a price on it.
