I just upgraded my laptop and still can't get close to this performance in 1080p 😂 A low power 3050 laptop GPU is good, but is barely comparable to any modern desktop card. Can't wait to finally experience gaming on a desktop when I buy/ build one.

I wanted a 13" 2in1 laptop, so having a dedicated GPU at all was a huge selling point and in my machine learning applications, this is about 5-12x faster than using the CPU. With DLSS, RTX is just barely useable on the RTX3050 (40W), but definitely isn't a reason to buy the card. But the RTX 3050 is still better than a GTX 1650 and the support for DLSS is a very welcome feature on such a relatively weak GPU. What I don't know yet: do the RT cores in RTX cards help for 3d rendering like in blender?
Technically not actual 4k, the shader runs at 1/2 resolution then upscales. If you are playing at 4k, it means the game is running at 1080p. The shader version that runs at native res doesn't have "HRR" in the name. Even though it's 1080p that's still surprisingly good, I got a gtx 1050 and play at 270p and can barely get a solid 25fps
Imagine one day in the future low end computers will be able to run shaders like these with no problem. One day the rtx 4090 will be a low end graphics card.

it takes you a moment to realize. this is minecraft in 4k resolution, with the highest graphics qualities, max render distance, an extremely high quality resource pack, shaders AND this is being recorded AT 4k resolution... it really goes to show how optimised the hardware and software are java edition is truly something special oh i guess the 4090 is pretty cool too

@@SadJBomb No it's not. You don't even know how Minecraft work. Compared to a normal game that uses low poly objects in the far distance, Minecraft fully renders everything you see. So when tanking it with the heaviest shader out there and high res textures, of course your fps will be destroyed, those trees 64 chunks away are fully rendered. Vanilla is very lightweight, but it becomes a problem when modding. And let's not forget how unoptimized Minecraft really is, at least the java version, even with performance mods.

wow nice ! i feel like the biggest problem with 4090 is gpu bottleneck, my laptop has 3050ti but even with it, i can get 45 fps with hrr 2.1 (i create a new world and set my chunks to 14 like you did) but i might be wrong tho since i dont know how it works at all xd
that's just because the 3050ti sucks and any 30s series card is not worth it until 3060ti and above. however the 40s series sucks too, just in a different, probably more dangerous way. I've heard the 4090 is the only one that's worthwhile too
You should also know, laptop hardware is not compatavle to desktop hardware. Laptop cpu's and gpu's are cut down to save on power and thermals so they work on a laptop form. A 3050ti kobole is probably comparable to like an rtx 2060 at most.
Damn even a 4090 gets down to the knees with minecraft lmao. Seus PTGI HRR and RP really show how intensive this is, obviously running 64chunks but thats just more cpu intensive.

I refuse to believe that, that is an RTX 4090, without the textures and the shaders Minecraft (and the recorder 4k) uses 60% of the GPU (on average), IT CANT BE.
