I have a problem I do not know how rays but the texts in HD do not look very clear, another thing I assign the keys and they do not work correctly for example to pick up objects.

I kept the game with me all these years (10 years). Occasionally I play it. I love the atmosphere of the game, the repetitive NPC conversations, the ambient owl and cricket sounds, the sky effects, the look of the unnamed hero, I love diego, I love the glitches, I love the commands, I love the story, oops i got carried away again!
I wanted to replay the game and thought about a mod tutorial, but didn't expected to find a video uploaded 1 month ago. Thats crazy, the game came out in 2001 and there are still people playing.
Don't underestimate the passion of Piranha Bytes' fanbase. I can't think of any other developer that could release a game as buggy and unfinished as Gothic 3, and it being fixed to such an impressive level over a decade later by its fans. There's still a dedicated mod in development called the Community Story Project that has been worked on for many years now and is still being slowly built. Just crazy the level of PB fans dedication.

I am truly amazed and am humbly bowing my head towards modders. These Men and Women bring old games to the new Era, fix broken games and help out many gamers in need (i always had an underpowered pc in the past and mods made some newer games to run decently with sometimes minimal drawbacks "Dying Light"). Only one dead link at the time of writing (the onedrive one), and everything else works perfect, pretty good for this type of tutorial video. I'm saving all this in a local archive so I can use these mods without further downloads.
Thumbs up and subbed. I tried DX11 on G1 before and was always super salty about how it would keep crashing on me, but knowing the DEP fix which I never heard about before rightfully earned a sub and like.
if anybody has issues with constant crashing even without error pop up, try to reinstall everything but stop after installing the systempack. for me all the grafic mods made the game very unstable. now with just the playerkits and systempack I am playing since 10h without any crash. 100% stable

If anyone has crashes with ACCESS VIOLATION error, please read about Data Execution Prevention (DEP)! Adding gothic.exe, gothicmod.exe and gothicstarter.exe removes the problem. Go to Control Panel, open 'System' and go to "Advences options", after that open "Performance" tab and click last tab in newly opened window. You have DEP options in there, select second one and add exes in there. Thanks for great guide, now my G1 looks absolutely awesome.

If you become a Guru in Golden Mod, main quest glitches and Ur-shak doesn't appear in castle ruins. They still didn't fixed that issue afaik, so be careful!
Bro... this was gold... i have all 3 gothics on steam and was soooo sad when no matter what i did it just refused to work... this tutorial made everything work perfectly... you should give a tutorial on how to play the game... in english. since picking up items is not very easy... but thank you for showing the community how to do this. I went through all these steps before and the game worked like a charm. Got 50 Hours clocked in on Steam. But now after reinstalling Windows on my new SSD drive, I go through all these same steps again and it just won't work. I've added the exceptions and the Access Violation warning still pops up. I'm completely at a loss here.

Sometimes the game is kinda crashing...sometimes the water disappears or the rainy weather is quite weird....it just disappears everywhere...the Water. And if I save or try to get into Old mine for example.... The game WILL crash. Other than dat, runs like a charm ;)

There is a very nasty bug in the old camp. The screen turns black after saving and corrupts your save. It appears it only happens within the boundaries of old camp.

Is there a way to make the newer Clockwork Edition renderer work with the Reshade preset? Unfortunately, when I start the game, I don't see the preset... Only with the "normal" renderer.
Very important Question!! The Character in Gothic 1 asks about a woman that got thrown into the barrier with him simutaniously! Where can you find that woman in the game? Didnt manage to find it. Once the Bodyguard of the Boss of the old camp said that his Boss had her locked in his tower but couldnt find it! Where is this misterious woman?
Everything works and looks fine. But one thing eats my mind. I did everything you showed but there is no fire in camfires, opposite from what i see in your video. Torches works fine although fire is weak, immersive. But campfires kills my immersion, there's only smokes. Can't find anything connected to fire in .ini files. I noticed that textures from reload mod changes fire. Maybe to have any suggestion how to fix it?
Hi, I haven't played Gothic in a long time. Didn't realize it even had so many mods. I want to try reinstalling one of them, and maybe the others later if I enjoy it. Which modded Gothic would you suggest as being the best experience in 2019? I only speak English. My computer is an i5 2500 w/8gb ram 960gtx w/4gb I'll be installing on a ssd So what you think, Gothic 1,2 or 3?
well, it doesnt matter what gothic as long as it works on your computer. First: mod your favourite gothic to your heart's content. Second: mod your second favourite Gothic game. Third: Mod your least favourite gothic. That is how you will make the most out of the series. And how you will have thousands of hours of fun.

It seems many people commenting are unable to get access to them through the old links in the video description.
the game just wont start, no acces violation problem it just crash any ideas? edit: now i have acces violation problems again edit2: installed everything again except the first reshade and it works somehow but the games freezes when i exit when the second link reshade works ill try again

I agree with the posters comments on the Reshade shaders. the first one is the best, imo. The second one adds a pinkish hue to many things, & adds even more dark atmosphere where it is not needed. The original game is dark / grimy enough without adding more. I finally got everything working like I want, & I have to say - this all looks the best it will ever look without recreating and most likely ruining the original game. The Gothic Reloaded textures are fantastic. Much better than Freddy's that I originally used. Thanks for the guide. FYI: the systempacks can be buggy, even on an updated Win10 build. I had to stop using 1.7 and use 1.8. Even then, I had to uninstall the systempack & reinstall it a couple of times for it to finally behave. WARNING: old saves are fine to walk around and see the changes, but there are areas of the world that if you save inside an existing savegame, the save will never load again. Also, when using an old savegame certain areas that have to be loaded for you to enter (separate world instances) like the mines most likely will crash & you can not enter them unless you start a new game with all the mods.
Do you have both ReShade preset .zip files still available? So many people are looking for the second one in the video description. Can you add a downloadable link to a drive of some kind?
DX11 + Artemiano is the standard. but in Gothic 2 the DX11 makes me crash when I enter the stargate, so I disable it, enter the stargate, save the game, and enable it again.

I have one question. I was trying to record some gameplay and in the video the Screen was very small (4:3 I think) and the lightning was gone. The game looked super pale compared to your video. Is there a way to fix it? Oh and this also happens when I do screenshots. I was using Nvidia shadowplay (I think that's how it's called).
@@Dolary1996 For what info I could gather, running the game with DX11 is very unstable, so just try the mods without DX11, I installed just the playerkits and system pack. Game is working fine for me now, but I'm getting FPS drops here and there, still playable though.
Everything worked fine. 4-5 hours into the game, nearly ready to join the bandits. Pure nostalgica. But then, without any given reason, the game is unplayable. FPS drops and when I want to draw my weapon I completely lost the control of the charakter, not to mention the lags. I am very sad and disappointed. I was more than ready to live through these beautiful childhood memories. :(
@@SinitarG After some hours of gameplay I get to the Swamp Camp and I save the game and I get a crash (was happening to me sometimes), the problem is that this time when I relaunch the game and I try to load the save it get stuck on the load screen, but my health bar appears left down corner, can open the menu, exit the game and everything but still stuck. I follow all your instructions so don't know whats wrong (if I load the save without ddraw.dll, I think that was directx11 archive/mod, it load all normal)

Never use spine to mod Gothic if you want a stable game.

There is a very nasty bug in the old camp. The screen turns black after saving and corrupts your save. It appears it only happens within the boundaries of old camp.
There is some problems with onedrive second reshade, i can't download it.

Very important Question!! The Character in Gothic 1 asks about a woman that got thrown into the barrier with him simutaniously! Where can you find that woman in the game? Didnt manage to find it. Once the Bodyguard of the Boss of the old camp said that his Boss had her locked in his tower but couldnt find it! Where is this misterious woman?

Everything works and looks fine. But one thing eats my mind. I did everything you showed but there is no fire in camfires, opposite from what i see in your video. Torches works fine although fire is weak, immersive. But campfires kills my immersion, there's only smokes. Can't find anything connected to fire in .ini files. I noticed that textures from reload mod changes fire. Maybe to have any suggestion how to fix it?

well, it doesnt matter what gothic as long as it works on your computer. First: mod your favourite gothic to your heart's content. Second: mod your second favourite Gothic game. Third: Mod your least favourite gothic.
That is how you will make the most out of the series. And how you will have thousands of hours of fun.

I agree with the posters comments on the Reshade shaders. the first one is the best, imo. The second one adds a pinkish hue to many things, & adds even more dark atmosphere where it is not needed. The original game is dark / grimy enough without adding more. I finally got everything working like I want, & I have to say - this all looks the best it will ever look without recreating and most likely ruining the original game. The Gothic Reloaded textures are fantastic. Much better than Freddy's that I originally used. Thanks for the guide.
FYI: the systempacks can be buggy, even on an updated Win10 build. I had to stop using 1.7 and use 1.8. Even then, I had to uninstall the systempack & reinstall it a couple of times for it to finally behave. WARNING: old saves are fine to walk around and see the changes, but there are areas of the world that if you save inside an existing savegame, the save will never load again. Also, when using an old savegame certain areas that have to be loaded for you to enter (separate world instances) like the mines most likely will crash & you can not enter them unless you start a new game with all the mods.

Another question: Why do you need to install both player kits? I only use 1.08 and game works fine. I use the GoG version

DX11 + Artemiano is the standard. but in Gothic 2 the DX11 makes me crash when I enter the stargate, so I disable it, enter the stargate, save the game, and enable it again.

I have one question. I was trying to record some gameplay and in the video the Screen was very small (4:3 I think) and the lightning was gone. The game looked super pale compared to your video. Is there a way to fix it? Oh and this also happens when I do screenshots. I was using Nvidia shadowplay (I think that's how it's called).
I started the game but was met to a white screen, the game is running and I can hear the menu, but the screen is just white.

@@Dolary1996 For what info I could gather, running the game with DX11 is very unstable, so just try the mods without DX11, I installed just the playerkits and system pack. Game is working fine for me now, but I'm getting FPS drops here and there, still playable though.
Everything worked fine. 4-5 hours into the game, nearly ready to join the bandits. Pure nostalgica. But then, without any given reason, the game is unplayable. FPS drops and when I want to draw my weapon I completely lost the control of the charakter, not to mention the lags. I am very sad and disappointed. I was more than ready to live through these beautiful childhood memories. :(
Issues mentioned are only because you have either made installation wrongly or have potato PC. Not the mod's fault.
@@SinitarG After some hours of gameplay I get to the Swamp Camp and I save the game and I get a crash (was happening to me sometimes), the problem is that this time when I relaunch the game and I try to load the save it get stuck on the load screen, but my health bar appears left down corner, can open the menu, exit the game and everything but still stuck. I follow all your instructions so don't know whats wrong (if I load the save without ddraw.dll, I think that was directx11 archive/mod, it load all normal)
