Tbh I kinda didn’t want to kill them, but I can’t help but shoot everything that moves in this game. Also I’m not leaving any area unexplored, especially that area with the splicer couple because you have to get past them to get at a weapon upgrade station.
That dirt in the sound makes this song soo lovely i can't explain it .... yep! I LOOOOVE Bioshock and Fallout and made me listen this kind of music again.
You know what's weird? I was decades away from being born during the era this song was released yet I get that odd nostalgic feeling when I listen to it.
I wish i could go back to the day when i just picked up my copy of bioshock 2 those were good times for me. Each game is like a photo for me they contain memories when i look at them.
I'm starting to see what you mean as I make my way through the soundtrack. I used to work 10-16 hour days and still manage to put 5 hours on this game every night/morning.
This game reminds me of traveling down to Florida after school; my parents picked me up from school before February vacation. I had just bought this game the day prior, my dad set up my Xbox 360 in the van and I played this game on a 9 inch tv. It was glorious, I would sit there and listen to these songs and pass the headset to my sister so she could hear these songs too. LOTS of memories….. I was only 16-17 then and now I’m 31. Thank god for this series, it means a lot to me.
Hear, hear! Two of my favorite games of all time! Due in no small part to their use of music. I think it's the mix of the tender, sweet sounding tunes of the jazz era juxtaposed against the ruins of a great civilization that makes the atmosphere of those games hit home.
It’s 10 years later, but it was actually amazingly fun in its heyday. Community big enough to always find plenty of games, but small enough that everyone kind of knew each other or at least would’ve through someone else. Great clans and culture. Not gonna say the game runs great or that host doesn’t have mad advantage, but the gameplay was pretty specific and a lot of people enjoyed just being able to chill with their friends in Rapture online.
I played regularly until probably 2015-2016 and fell off due to lack of community but still arrange games with friends sometimes. There’s not really another way to engage with the bioshock universe with friends 🤷🏻♀️
I remember this age, for I have been an avatar of the power that animates tis entire galaxy. I finally made it here. Wish me luck. For I am here at the most important juncture of this human history. ~SUPER
speaking of the part mentioned in the comments, my friends and I just got to that part today and we killed the male splicer, but the female one had run off for a bit (I think the two are houdini splicers?) and she was running to her lover's corpse! We think she was going to mourn over him. This song really fits the moment in an ironic way,
Reading some of these comments make realise just how old bio shock is and the songs they use one day I will finish these game with out staring fondly at the art deco architecture and the beauty of this music and not wishing to see the world of rapture before its collapse then one day I will be able to say I played this game and finished it
its sad to see what music has come to these days just auto tune and random computer crap unlike the original singers that were just plain out good with just their voice.
i feel ya pal but you aren't looking good look for more like this some modern music isn't that bad either its mostly just what you said but there is good music out there just delve deep and you'll find more awesome music like this
I always leave the splicers to dance with each other :)
Nah.
I'll give them the bees!

That was in the 1st game was it not...?

I am like 3-4 Generations away. But the 40s get my mood
Hmm maybe it’s cause the game?

This plays in the loading screen for The Thinker in the Minerva's Den DLC. After seeing the ending, the song really fit so well.. poor Sigma 😔
Ah, the Ink Spots, my favorite. And well Bioshock 2, 300 hours of my life spent well.
I really hope you are exaggerating

Una bendición al genio que se le ocurrió poner Jazz a ciertos juegos como esta joyita. Simplemente, H E R M O S O!
"You just can't eat hot soup with your bare hands"
This song is one of the reasons why I can't forget Bioshock 2. Such an impactful game
I love Bioshock music. Its easy on the ears.
Que buena rola, ahora que me volví a pasar el Bioshock 2 por millonesima vez sigo diciéndo que maravilla de juegoz que maravilla de saga
Goddamn! i never thought i'd hear this again!
+Matthew Hawthorne mhm , why?
yes why
At 1:09, it's like the song comes to life. God, what a gorgeous voice.
This song makes me so sad...
I went in that room the first time I played thru, but killing them made me sad so I never go down to the lounge for the gift anymore
KT Monster splicers are monsters you did them a favor
Each song has a ad smh I still enjoy the songs great work
Wonderful !! Just wonderful.
Thanks for sharing.
This song is so good, holy shit

I like the description :P
That's the kind of really cool detail that make video games either succeed for fail. And BioShock 2 definitely succeeded.
They are, just look at L.A. Noire and somebody already mentioned Fallout.
In my experience it also plays in the Dionysus Park Atlantic Express train station.
And the Persephone Cafeteria.
pov you start up the rusted out car in the apocalypse and the radio starts up
I feel the exact same way. I love most 30s-50s- music all the same, but this makes me feel a tad different. It's odd.
@Joshua Lo The genre of this song is jazz or perhaps "classic jazz".
@jjvoodoo Thanks for the correction!
@pongboy1100 to be honest both games use the same time period/genre of music, and i love them for it :-)
Someone make a mod for Fallout 3 or New Vegas that adds hundreds of old songs to the radio :)
hey do you guys know the scene in bioshock when 2 houdini splicers are dancing to a song?
a bit culutur in all this madness.
Yes, it actually happens once in Bioshock 1 and twice in Bioshock 2
Yes I recently play that part few hours ago.
Gotta love Butcher Pete
I think there is one actually!
@Joshua Lo
Good
why does this video alone buffer all the time?

What genre of music is this labeled as?
the golden age music maybe? this was made around the 60s so i think its silver age
+ARandomSoul it was made in 1944 actually
o thats pretty cool
20s-60s music. Some people say its jazz
