'Everyone was in shock': Witness describes moment suspect was shot, killed in Port Angeles

- One person is dead after they were shot and killed by Port Angeles police Friday morning.
According to the Clallam County Sheriff's Office, two PAPD officers responded to the Chase Bank on Front Street after being notified of a "hold up" alarm. When they arrived, they encountered a man who was reportedly armed with a handgun.
Officials say the man was non-compliant and "was associated with the reported bank hold up." The police then shot the suspect just before 10 a.m.

Bad time of it in everyway. Imagine if you are forced to end someone and have to live with that for the rest of your life.

@rainkatt I worked at Healthy Families for 5 years. There was a lot of crime everyday people didn't probably notice, especially D.V./S.A. related. A lot of people live in unrealistic bubbles of denial about what can and can't or does or does not happen in their community. They often think that because they live among a majority demographic that their place is Mayberry. It isn't. You'll see these people after a shooting happens in their town and hear them say it never happens there and be totally shocked. It does and can happen anywhere there are so-called humans. Let's face it. The lack of moral compass some people are working with makes it a stretch to even call them human. We can't afford naiveté in today's world.

Driving in from Sequim, I found I couldn't drive through downtown, so I went up Lincoln and then west across 2nd where the motels are. There were 8 or more people standing at the top of the stairs that lead downtown so I pulled up and asked what was happening. They said bank robbery and someone got shot....I didn't believe them at first, but they said really I was a bank robbery. Just about then KONP 1450 radio announced what happened and there would be a press release soon. WTH Port Angeles?? We need our peaceful little city back...
