  • Buckle up for a thrilling 16-hour ride as we soar across the Pacific with United Airlines on their island hopper route. Our journey kicks off in the tropical haven of Honolulu, Hawaii, promising breathtaking views and exciting destinations.
Our first stop is the captivating Majuro in the Marshall Islands, a place teeming with culture and natural beauty. Then, we touch down at the Kwajalein Atoll, another gem in the Marshall Islands known for the United States Army Airfield called Bucholz
Now, let's shift gears to the Micronesian leg of our adventure - Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Chuuk. Although we won't be stepping off the plane for very long, we'll enjoy brief glimpses of these Micronesian wonders from the aircraft. Picture this though.......The lush greenery of Kosrae, the ancient ruins of Pohnpei, and the vibrant underwater world of Chuuk's renowned lagoon - all observed from the comfort of our United Airlines flight.
As we approach our final destination, Guam, this video unfolds every detail from check-in to immigration. Will there be any delays? Tune in to find out!

My wife and I took this flight in late January 2024. Like you mentioned, it's an aviation enthusiast's bucket list flight, which is why we did it. That very same Asia Pacific 757 "hopped" along behind us too. ;-)

757s have very powerful brakes so essentially if a 737/A320 can land there, a 757 can to!
they have flown into many short/high elevation fields like Eagle Country, Jackson Hole and Toncontin to name a few

Fun fact: The airspace around the islands are controlled by Oakland Oceanic. Except for Kwajelein, the islands have no control towers. Departing flights have to call Oakland for departure clearance. They are given a 15 minute window within which the clearance is valid. During that time, other airplanes cannot land. I’d the dusting flight cannot takeoff before the void time, they need to call again for another clearance. If another airplane is on approach, departing airplanes have to wait until the arriving airplane reports their arrival to Oakland.
Tuesday in Pohnpei is the only time eastbound and westbound Hoppers meet.

When I booked it I did go through the United website. HNL to GUM. Both the nonstop came up and also the island hopper. However the island hopper doesn’t fly daily. This trip was also booked with points 25k
