- Buckle up for a thrilling 16-hour ride as we soar across the Pacific with United Airlines on their island hopper route. Our journey kicks off in the tropical haven of Honolulu, Hawaii, promising breathtaking views and exciting destinations.
Our first stop is the captivating Majuro in the Marshall Islands, a place teeming with culture and natural beauty. Then, we touch down at the Kwajalein Atoll, another gem in the Marshall Islands known for the United States Army Airfield called Bucholz
Now, let's shift gears to the Micronesian leg of our adventure - Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Chuuk. Although we won't be stepping off the plane for very long, we'll enjoy brief glimpses of these Micronesian wonders from the aircraft. Picture this though.......The lush greenery of Kosrae, the ancient ruins of Pohnpei, and the vibrant underwater world of Chuuk's renowned lagoon - all observed from the comfort of our United Airlines flight.
As we approach our final destination, Guam, this video unfolds every detail from check-in to immigration. Will there be any delays? Tune in to find out!

Up and coming channel. Very enjoyable watch and didn't even realize it was 32 minutes long. Thanks for taking this flight and documenting it for all of us interested at home
Thank you for the kind words and I’m happy to hear you were enjoying the video.
I'm doing this flight in 2 weeks (on 154 with all 5 stops), in Business Class. Can't wait!
That’s really good to hear. I hope you enjoy the long and beautiful journey
westbound, of course
My wife and I took this flight in late January 2024. Like you mentioned, it's an aviation enthusiast's bucket list flight, which is why we did it. That very same Asia Pacific 757 "hopped" along behind us too. ;-)
That’s pretty cool to learn. I hope you enjoyed the journey too.
Ahh man this is the best. These are places I would truly love to see. Matt - really love it. You’re one bloke it would be great to travel with. Your easygoing style comes across. Love this stuff. Thanks.
I appreciate that thank you! Also, thank you watching I hope you continue to enjoy the channel.

Thank you kindly for that!
Great video! It was great getting to meet you and chat at each stop. You captured all of the events of the journey so well. It was fun reliving it! Hope you made it back ok.
Matt it was a pleasure to meet you as well, as we channeled our inner AvGeek. Thank you for watching and the compliments. I’m glad you enjoyed it too. I missed double new years because United was 8hrs late.
I saw the inbound aircraft was really late. Bummer, but at least you got to check off an aviation bucket list item with the hopper!
Nice video 🤙
Thank you!
Nice trip 👍
Thank you

757s have very powerful brakes so essentially if a 737/A320 can land there, a 757 can to!
they have flown into many short/high elevation fields like Eagle Country, Jackson Hole and Toncontin to name a few
That’s some fun information to learn. Thank you.

Fun fact: The airspace around the islands are controlled by Oakland Oceanic. Except for Kwajelein, the islands have no control towers. Departing flights have to call Oakland for departure clearance. They are given a 15 minute window within which the clearance is valid. During that time, other airplanes cannot land. I’d the dusting flight cannot takeoff before the void time, they need to call again for another clearance. If another airplane is on approach, departing airplanes have to wait until the arriving airplane reports their arrival to Oakland.
Tuesday in Pohnpei is the only time eastbound and westbound Hoppers meet.
Thank you for all that great information.
Hey, bro I would be glad if you make video on Delhi to Paris or Paris to Vancouver route vlog in Air France economy only, I already commented many youtubers regarding this let's see who make first, I hope you will cover this route , I subscribed you
Thank you for subscribing and watching I’ll see how or if I can make one of those happen for you and others watching. No guarantees.
That 737 looks like it’s about due to rotate back to the mainland.
I want to do UA154 and continue on to HND from GUM on the 737 too.
I definitely thought the same lol
also how did you book the route? did you do multiple legs on United website? we are L.A based.
When I booked it I did go through the United website. HNL to GUM. Both the nonstop came up and also the island hopper. However the island hopper doesn’t fly daily. This trip was also booked with points 25k
OMG, nef-u...
do u love having ur almonds squeezed in a vise😂 16hrs...are u kidding me! Another great video. Hey I haven't gotten a foreign coin from any of these places you've gone...come on now😖
You’re too funny Uncle! Flying is fun. Do it more lol. Oh I have plenty of coins I can give you. Just not sturdy ones like you’re looking for
It’s the legacy of Continental’s Micronesia route they acquired in the takeover.
Im not gonna lie.. Ive watched so many flight sim videos that I thought this was one of them haha
That’s pretty cool I guess? Not sure what to say hahaha…..thank you for watching
Are they considering putting MAXes on that route?
Great question!
Loved the video.. We are passport stamp chasers...do you get passport stamps at any of these 'foreign' countries?
I don’t believe so unless staying. Could be wrong though. I didn’t ask. But I also didn’t see anywhere in the waiting areas
