Thanks for the work you put into explaining how to move from new tank tank to a trial tank. That is what I am currently working on and the info you provided is exactly what I was looking to find.
This is the only somewhat beginner friendly video I've seen on tanking. I'm still leveling so having things simplified is a lot easier for me to understand. Thank you.
Thank You ZaneTrain92 for letting me know, that I might need to make more video a little more beginner friendly. As I do also forget from time to time that I didn't know as much about the game as I do now. 😎👍
@@megamau923 "adds" mean a group of smaller enemies that usually have less then 40k health per enemy. There may be some enemies in that group to have more health. As the game devs do this to make it look like an easy group of enemies. Then surprise you with hard hitters.
Thx for the video. I stopped playing in greymoor and want to get back into the game. I'm definently gonna have to grind for the new sets, but I think it's smart to do it on a dps. Is stam sorc still a strong dps? I'm using new moon and vicious ophidian, and velidreth with a perfected maelstrom bow. Is this still viable?
Thanks for stopping by. I would agree, that it would be smarter to farm gear quicker with a dps. With all the new updates that has happen since Greymoor, Stam sorc have improved. As to answer if that setup is viable. It's a little hard to answer with out knowing every detail to your build. If you can get the content you want to get done, then it is viable. It's sounds like it should work.
@@joshuagarcia2642 It's all good. I main as a tank as well. It is a little hard with all the new sets since Greymoor to really tell you what to run. Things I may say you should totally run, may work for you or have the polar opposite effect. I know sorcerer have bonus damage to dealing physical and shock damage. I know many people don't run new moon as much as they use to run.
Good questions, bar swapping will not be possible till level 15. The Xbox bar swap button is the left button on the directional pad. For PC I believe it's the tab button. These can be change to other buttons if you don't like that setup. Your main bar weapon is any one handed weapon and shield. The back bar is an ice staff. The skill setup is found at 14:57 and you can change the order of those skill however you like.
When it comes to an add pull, I look for the most dangerous targets and want to make sure those will be taunted first. Then find where most of the adds are grouped. Start with a range taunt on the dangerous targets, Then move to the group adds and cast talons. While the adds are immobilize for the 4 seconds. I use chains to pull in the remaining adds with in that time frame. Just right before the time is up for the immobilize, I then use Engulfing Flames. Try using this in a semi circle while using it to effect as may adds as you can. If you use stone giant then it will just need to be cast as this effects enemies in the area. After that cast element blockade. Then switch to front bar and make sure to use piece armor on the most dangerous target first to debuff. Then cast Igneous Shield to apply the Crimson oath. After that it's just making sure adds stay grouped, you are doing ok with health, and you have taunted enemies. If it is a boss fight I make sure to just run at the boss use piece armor to grab taunt and reduce the armor. Then cast Igneous Shield to apply Crimson oath debuff. Switch bars hit element blockade to hopefully apply the crusher enchantment rather quickly. Then hit the boss with Engulfing Flames. Then it's just make sure to always have taunt on the target. Group any adds the boss summons, cast green Dragon Blood if your Health is low. Then keep Crimson oath active, apply Wall of Elements, and Engulfing Flames. Alot of times though you are really just reacting to what the boss is doing to apply what you need.
Hey, I’m a returning player cp795 I also don’t have Gold Road or the new Scribing skills. I was looking to update my Tank since it’s been awhile since I’ve played. For reference I last played when cloudrest and turning tide/pearlescent came out. After I got those sets I sorta stopped playing. Would this build help me with Vets and Trials for this current patch?
@@Woah808 Welcome back to the Game! Yes this build can help you with Vets and Trials. This build currently doesn't run any Scribing skills, so you should be good there.
For the Monster set you can either run Heavy, or light for the helm. Then I run the opposite for the shoulders. For the body, Yolnahkriin is a Heavy armor set. So I have 6 Heavy, and 1 light. Thank you for clearing this up for others.
You can use it solo, however getting through content will be slower. Since this build really doesn't deal a lot of damage. If you use the Tremorscale set, this will help reduce enemies resistance. Make you hit just a little harder and the set also does some damage out of the sets that I suggested in the video.
I do alot of group content, however I normally PUG the content. This video was not advertised as a "solo build." This was about how I would build a Dragonknight Tank for this update. With some other option of gear for monster sets I like to use. Beginner sets I like to use, and that I thought would be helpful for new players.

**Ability Rotation:**
General:
Taunt powerful adds > group adds > Choking Talons > Engulfing Flames > Elemental Blockade
Bar Switch
Pierce armour > Igneous Shield > (Taunt + Heal as required)
Boss Fight:
Pierce armour > Igneous shield
Bar Switch
Elemental Blockade > Engulfing flames
(Taunt + Heal as required)
Yup, just a basic rotation I typically do.
i don’t understand this
