I have to take exception to Reggie Whites comment about the hard play being expected and nothing personal. Hard and rough play is one thing, but the flagrant fouls, many of which could have been categorized as "ASSAULT" is something else entirely! How many other rookies experienced that level of hard play? Angle Reese was a rookie yet she was welcomed with open arms! On top of all of that, not one player that assaulted Clark was ejected or suspended from future games. It's like a different set of rules applied when officiating Caitlin Clark! That really makes the WNBA as a league and as a organization look very unprofessional and childish.
Totally agree. Nobody expected the other players to treat her with kid-gloves, but the way CC was fouled was ridiculous. What was the stat? 20% of the flagrant fouls for the whole league for the whole season were on her. So many of the other players are so jealous of her and instead of seeing it as an opportunity to improve, they decide to make cheap shots instead. It’s embarrassing for them.

Curry and CC22 play with some similarity, like the logo threes..but the essential difference is steph is dangerous when he hasn't the ball..whereas caitlin needs to have the ball...in effect, caitlin is a better playmaker and passer than steph, but then she needs to develop her off ball game, that is where the system comes to play, but one advantage steph has is draymond..which the fever doesn't have...but both are exciting to watch...
Clark is playing a style of basketball that we have never seen a woman play and it is so exciting. She is a once in a lifetime, generational talent that can change a entire league or sport. Like Gretzky,Tiger, Magic, Bird, MJ, and Serena Williams. I wish everyone would embrace her and just be happy that she is bringing the W into a new era..
The veterans on her team had to bring their game up because they weren’t used to no look passing. When she was on the All Stars team playing the team USA they doubled up on her and they thought they stopped her from scoring. That just opened up showing her range for assists across the court. They’re making a scoring comparison with Pete “Pistol” Maravich. Yeah she passed his scoring record in 4 years but when Maravich played you didn’t play your freshman year.
Pistol Pete also didn’t have a 3-point line, nor a chance to play a 5th year due to COVID. But all of that is the same argument that Sheryl Swoopes is making, which is doing nothing but stepping back, drawing further lines in the sand, and moving the goal posts. If the bar is the points, She eclipsed the bar. Now someone is trying to essentially say that she had to beat the bar by doing it the same way Pistol Pete set it. If that were the case, then Pistol Pete’s record, let alone ANY record would never be able to be broken.

Exactly - Pete had 3 years and no 3 point line, while CC had 4 years (she never used her 5th covid year) and a 3 point line. Would have been amazing if Pete lived long enough to see CC break it - he would've been so proud!
I just need to put my 2 cents in here. Pistol Pete Maravich, yes. Larry Bird, definitely. She also reminds me of Terry Porter, when he and Clyde Drexler played for Portland. Solid fundamentals, deadly accurate, and never made a fuss about himself. I enjoyed the Video!
What makes her so special is not only the amazing shooting and ability to get to the basket but she is also the best playmaker and passer in the league...
WNBA needs more players like Caitlin Clark, and less crybaby whiners who wish they could be paid as much as Caitlin Clark's promotional contracts, or want to have similar pay to NBA players. Delusional WNBA players are tanking the organization, time to draft new college kids who share Caitlin Clark's skill set and don't share the delusions.

All the jealous haters in the W try and downplay her game but she is guarded different than every other player in the league.

Basketball Rules are in dire need of a massive overhaul... The NBA in particular, and to a lesser degree the WNBA, would have one thinking their watching UFC bouts... there's nothing clever about elbows, shoves and deliberate straight up assaults... it's a goddamn game for christ sake. Rough play is overshadowing the individual player skills during games... if nothing changes basketball will soon become like Ice Hockey, where the fans get all excited when a fight breaks out. The WNBA at present is far more exciting to watch than the NBA because they don't have anywhere near the violence, and the skill level of the WNBA players is at such an obviously high level.
