    The group was saying something like "The others probably let Claire go when they figured Claire and her baby wasn't what they really looking for" but you've all forgot Ethan came back for Claire after she returned to the survivors. So, they still wanted Claire after however she got away from them.
    About the Kate and Jack cheating to carry the dynamite thing: Kate f'ing run without taking the backpack off when the monster came, so she'd probably be dead if Jack didn't cheat and put the dynamite in his own pack. Jack took his backpack off when the monster came as he's supposed to. So, I guess Jack's leadership decisions are better than impulsive Kate's insisting to do dangerous things herself. I wish the writers had an extra line in their dialogue for Jack to remind her mistake although Jack especially warned them and she just f'ing witnessed what happened to Arzt. (I like Kate in general, but she has some bad moments and some bad habits) Because Jack doesn't say anything to her, viewers miss Jack saved Kate's life doing that. I also wished Rodrigo said something about that during the discussion but I know there's a lot to talk and it's easy to forget. I got my hopes high when he looked at the camara during the scene :)
    And Jack has every right to be angry and doubtful to Locke and think they'll have a Locke problem after Locke says "Boone is a sacrifice the island demanded" line. Don't get me wrong, after experincing his miracle, Locke has a right to believe it's their destiny and they're there for a purpose or whatever but if you begin to say people's lives are expandable for a vague supernatural purpose that you're given by the island, then I consider you're a dangerous person as Jack does. I wouldn't trust you at all after that line and I wouldn't want to be around you. I'd even talk to other people that line, its implications and ask for a vote to either restrain Locke somehow or banish him away from the group. Because believing people might be sacrifices for just faith, goes into the similar waters like those suicide bombers in Sayid's flashback or whatever. It's unaccaptable in my opinion. It means if someday he wakes up and believes the island wants him to risk everyeone's lives, he'll do it... [All that said, Locke is also my favorite character in 1st season, because he's the most fun and mysterious to watch, like watching a really good villain. I'm not saying I see him as a villain though, I'm just saying he makes the story extra interesting as good villains do in other stuff. You don't have to always agree with him to enjoy him the most]

    • @reatores
      @reatores  3 месяца назад

      I never caught that myself! One of those obvious things I never noticed (Kate running with the backpack). My look at the camera was just because someone said something about the dynamite... well, another lesson Lost (and you guys) taught me hahaha!
      Yes, Jack saved her. And it wouldn't hurt to have a line with that. The moment where Jack and Kate talked about the Locke problem would be perfect for that, since they were kinda arguing.
      As for John, I think you have a point to a certain degree... cause as much as I would NOT agree with Locke's words if I were on the island, as a viewer of the show, I know Locke doesn't really mean Boone was expandable. Maybe a better choice of words would be "a consequence, a fatality", I don't know.
      But I totally agree that Jack has every right to be concerned and angry about it. Especially considering what he went through with Boone.

      Locke was not right. To be right about something, you have to know its ins and outs. But Locke never knew, never understood. Besides, if they are there, it is to give them a choice in their actions and Locke leaves no choice. If he knew that, he would have left the choice to Charlie, to Boone, to Sayid, just in this season. But he didn't do it, so he doesn't know anything. 🤔

    38:00 in my opinion, it's the opposite: Sawyer is self destructive, we can say "he wants to die" because he has nothing in his life, his old life is a mess, his new life is not great. Kate, on the other hand, is full of life, she keeps on running, because she wants to live, to try things, to solve things, to be involved.. as I always say, Kate is a Jack without his claustrophobic education

    Sorry Mayra but I think Jack is right when he says now there will be a Locke problem. When a man talks to you about destiny, that the people around him who die are sacrifices, that he voluntarily wanted to be carried away by a thing (the Black Smoke) which now visibly scares him more than when they first met, that he triggers the dynamite to light even though Hurley tells him not to and he doesn't make a move (unlike Jack) to protect Hurley from the explosion, I'll have a hard time following him without fear for my life, since Locke apparently cares more about the mysteries to be discovered than the well-being of his fellows and himself.

    Eu comecei assistindo esta série de madrugada pela Globo, quando este último episódio da primeira temporada foi ao ar, eu surtei com esse final, e não acreditei que teria que esperar tanto tempo para a próxima temporada. Fiquei tão louca, que escrevi um email para a Rede Globo, e como acho que eles não recebiam tantos emails ( não existiam smartphones e nem todo mundo tinha um PC em casa), eles responderam, mas disseram que não tinham previsão da estreia da próxima temporada na emissora. Totalmente inconformada, fui fuçar a internet, eu tinha acesso à Internet desde 1996 e PC em minha casa desde 1999 mas, não tinha hábito de acompanhar séries através do computador. Quando descobrir que eu podia baixar os episódios e que a segunda temporada já estava passando lá fora, baixei todos os episódios disponíveis, descobri uma variedade imensa de outras séries que comecei a acompanhar e ainda me cadastrei na InSubs (o maior site de legendas do Brasil) para ajudar na legendagem das séries.

      @@reatores Obrigada! Lembro que nosso "agradecimento" na época era: "P***a, até que enfim!" , "Demoraram pra caramba!", "Não estava aguentando mais!", mas a gente levava na esportiva, era bem gratificante. Assim que o episódio saía lá fora, o site pegava o CC ( closed caption), que era uma porcaria (às vezes, era melhor fazer só pelo áudio), dividia por 3, distribuía e cada um ficava com 15 minutos. Quando terminávamos passávamos a legenda traduzida e "sincada" (sincronizada) para o site, que revisava, juntava as partes, e lançava. Só a parte de traduzir e sincar 15 minutos, demorava cerca de 4 horas, isso sendo rápido e não parando para nada (você não tem noção de quantas palavras são ditas em 15 minutos de série).
      A pf derrubou o site umas três vezes, alegando combate à pir4t4r14. Não podíamos usar nossos nomes verdadeiros e usávamos o mIRC para nos comunicar ( pois era um programa antigo em DOS, e mais seguro contra eles).

    Jack isn't perfect for sure, he likes to control things and has a savior complex, but in this episode alone his choice of not letting Kate carry the explosives saved her because she didn't let her backpack behind when the smoke monster appeared and he ran after Hurley when he was running towards the explosives after seeing the numbers.
    I liked the discussion you had about 'man of science, man of faith', Jack as a man of science should be seeking knowledge about what is happening on this island but he is for now too stubborn and only focused on surviving.
    Locke for his part is only concerned about what his destiny is, he is looking for meaning no matter the cost, and if the life of Boone is the price to pay he seems okay with it, not the most altruistic behavior for a man of faith, but we have also seen him help a lot of people in different ways throughout the season.
    Both complicated and flawed characters, that's what make them so interesting.

E um momento maravilhoso quando Locke estava conversando com Jack sobre o destino. Eu me pergunto se foi a vontade do Destino quando Kate não explodiu, ou se o destino não teve nada a ver com isso porque Jack não aceitou os termos da loteria? Talvez por esse motivo, Jack disse que não acreditava no destino, percebendo que salvou a vida de Kate porque trocou de Mochila. É interessante pensar nisso. Desejo aos reatores uma agradável visualização! Ainda tem muita coisa interessante pela frente! E obrigado, Rodrigo, por nos dar a terceira temporada de reatores. Acho que a dualidade de Jack x Locke se pauta muito mais no ceticismo x fé do que na ciência. O Jack é tipo São Tomé: "Eu só acredito vendo, e quando eu vejo eu não acredito". Mas temos que levar em consideração que a fé do Locke é majoritariamente estimulada pela experiência dele em voltar a andar depois da queda do avião. Aí eu me pergunto: Se Jack, um neurocirurgião, ficasse paraplégico por 5 anos e voltasse a andar do dia pra noite, será que ele também não teria a fé que o Locke tem? Principalmente sabendo o quão irreversível era o caso?

    • @DmitryUlybinAbc

      Este é um pensamento muito interessante. Também pensei nisso pela primeira vez há alguns meses. Talvez se um milagre não tivesse acontecido com Locke, talvez Locke tivesse permanecido o mesmo que Jack. Por outro lado, Jack poderia ter se tornado um crente se o mesmo milagre tivesse acontecido com ele e com Locke. Por causa do milagre, era mais fácil para Locke acreditar em algo mais. Concordo com você, você fez uma observação interessante. E essa série, LOST, nos faz pensar e refletir, e ser observadores, e tirar nossas próprias conclusões. Uma série maravilhosa

    • @reatores
      @reatores  3 месяца назад

      Talvez sim, mas acredito que a ilha (podemos falar assim, já que o próprio grupo está falando assim) sabe o que faz. A ilha julgou que Locke já estava pronto pra receber esse milagre. Mas que Jack ainda precisaria receber pequenas doses pra ir trabalhando questões internas aos poucos. Mas sim, faz sentido tudo o que vc disse!

    I would have been fine with Jack being the leader right until the moment that he revealed that apparently he thinks being the leader is the same as being the king.
    It's not about "making a decision other people don't like" -- it's about being rational (being the only doctor and the leader means *you have to stop risking your life over dumb shit* ) and respecting others enough to build consensus. He constantly does this nonsense where he tries to CONTROL Kate and it's maddening. He treats her like a combination of a child and a dog, but the show tries to sell this idea that iT's BeCaUsE hE LoVeS hEr!
    bleeeeccchhhh 🤮
    Jack's dad told him and the audience that Jack's problem is he cannot let things go. That is NOT a good quality in a leader (or a boyfriend/husband). Jack wanted to carry the dynamite (objectively a terrible idea), just like he insisted on following Ethan (another terrible idea), and insisted on carrying a gun to confront Ethan (terrible idea numéro trois). Imagine if Jack TRUSTED Kate??? And had confidence in her capabilities, especially when they are clearly superior to his (guns, tracking)?
    Sorry, I don't know if I have a point. But Jack's not fit to be leader if he thinks being a leader means treating the other adults around him like moronic children, and then lying and cheating to get his way when they question his BAD decisions.
