@@AuthenticPlantbasedEats Great I want to continue to support. I just stumbled across your page and I LOVE Caribbean foods. I was married to Jamaicans for a while been to Yard over 15 times. Now I have started to transition to plant based diet so your page is right up my alley. Thank you!
Got a barrel with food items from a relative in the US. Among the items were lentils and split peas. I am not familiar with these things so I had them sitting in my cupboard until I came across this recipe. Girl thank yuh thank yuh thank yuh. I made this soup and my entire family loved it.
Ymmm.....this Video is FOOD PORN! Loved seeing the rich, creamy texture of the Meatless Split Pea Soup, thank you very much for sharing, Liked the video and sendin' you greetings from Mexico! :)
I have made beef green split peas soup today for my Saturday, 26th February 2022 dinner here in the UK. I don't have any Jamaican pumpkin so I use butternut squash instead. I made my dumplings with plain flour, little cornmeal and salt, diced my Irish potatoes, white potatoes, carrot, pimento seeds and all the seasoning, and one whole scotch bonnet pepper.
Hi sis...😍 Thank God I found your channel... Just made this soup with gongo peas... I'm already eating it now with my baby, taste so so nice😋😋😋😋😋🤩😍. Bless up sis
Congratulations on the jamaican cooking channel. My pastor and members make these style dishes for fellowship after divine service. These plant base dishes are delicious. After we eat we have full belly chat. Lol. Thanks again for your videos
Bless you! One love and respect for the veggie based channel. 🇯🇲 Jamaica is a beautiful country with diverse set of people and yes some of us love veggies 🌽 🍅 #ital #irie
Just made this recipe for lunch thinking it'll be a decent way to use up my veggies... Sis, this soup has no right to be sooo freakin good, I just finished my second big bowl!! I didn't have yam, but I used what I had on hand. I added sweet potato, regular potato, carrot, beets, a lot of spinach, corn, bay leaf and swapped paprika for chili powder. The ingredients are so simple but this meal NOURISHED, my belly is full full 🤤 Another 10/10 recipe of yours going into my saves list.
I'd love to have a real yam, can't get those in the U.S. but for some reason Americans call all different looking sweet potatoes, yams. But real yams have a white interior and are harder. They are just different from the U.S. advertisement. p.s. I love the Scotch Bonnet but living in Ohio, not one is in the stores--it's like living in the 1960s here as far as what you can buy.
You soak the lease to release the poison that prevent it from rotting. You have to throw away that water and not use it to cook with. If you don’t believe the water is full of poison, throw the water on a brush outside and watch the brush die. I am glad you told your viewers to throw away that first water.
What a beautiful thing ,to see a yam pulled strait out the ground ,and bringing it into this epic recipe, never seen this before. Thanks for sharing 👍

Hi! In the food stores here in NY they have batata. Is that the same as the sweet potato? It looks similar but I'm not sure.

Can I use canned peas?
Although fresh is ideal, you can use the canned split peas.
