I increase the top speed of my Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 by installing the Riva Racing Speed Control Override Module and race my friends Yamaha FX Limited SVHO.

That was fun! Thanks Brooks.
Putting a PWC in reverse does nothing to clear a jammed impeller because the impeller spins in the same direction at all times, the bucket on the back is what changes the water flow. Sometimes if you're really lucky and you shut the engine off it will release whatever is jamming the intake grate due to the release of suction against the grate.
Seadoo's are overtuned out of the box (3 cyl). Way more performance left on the Yamaha SVHO which is why all the racing circuits are 90+% yami's.
Very true. The RXTX requires min. 93 octane while (stock) the Yami needs only 87.
Some people do care about the looks and features of their toys - hence they chose Sea Doo.
JJ S too funny... considering the FX SVHO looks so completely bad ass sitting next to the rather mundane doo doos.

Great Races! Very impressed of how well the RXT-X hull performs on choppy waters!!
Yes RXT is actually faster on chop
Aaron P Yes, definitely a Monster on the Chop!!

Damn , that's freaking awesome. Last time I was on a jetski 55 was about all you could get with a prop and tune. 73 mph, holy crap. That's a workout better than a gym
Sounds like ~1995. My '95 Wave Raider was the fastest stock "ski" back then at an honest 57.
Man that's as fast as my 78 corvette ....great content Mr. DragTimes!
This is a very cool channel!! I like the cars you have as well as those amazing PWCs.
Cool video, makes me wanna move to FL to play in the water more.
Love these vids man, keep em up. Coming from a stage 2 2020 FX Svho and a 2020 Rxtx300 stage 2
What did you enjoy more??
Ohhh yeahhh 🤯.... I’m tuned in 💪💯💯
I own a seadoo, but I believe yamaha wins when it comes to power, but I love all the features of the seadoo
My 2018 RXP 300 stock tops out around 73 mph. They are scary fast machines.
Dragtimes Awesome Video I think those Jet Ski Drag Races were Awesome and I think you should Mod your RXT-X 300 and I think it's Awesome that you bought a Riva SCOM to delete the Speed Governor and Happy Belated Fathers day to you and All of the Fathers in your Family
Having been into "skis" since '95, I've seen nearly everything. Tired of all the b.s. claims, too. Everything is claimed to "provide awesome ..." this and that. Ha! Brooks' videos on the subject are by far better than the others who make these "ski" videos just to sell you parts. As usual with D.T., just the facts with no agenda. BTW, for the parts claimed on both skis, this "drag race" was spot on.
During the first run I was about to comment:
"HOW that hat stayed on is BEYOND me."
But then it didn't.
Still I can't believe it stayed on as long as it did.
Hahaha!!! I was thinking the exact same thing... my hat never stays on, so I was well impressed... until I wasn't.
Maybe his hat is pinned to his head with a nail?

Damn that garage though
I want to run my Rive stage 2 RXP260 X against your 300. Have to hey itself a XP 951cc, so small and light and makes chop crazy fun. You can catch insane airtime with them. They do 62 stock but with a Factory Twin Pipe and supporting boltons it will do 71-72 no problem. Definitely more fun then my 260X
That thing is pretty nuts fast.
YAMAHA👍🏼
Which one do you like better for ocean riding in the 3 to 5 waves you were in, the Yamaha or the Seadoo?
That blue one pulls hard and then everyone just hits their limit.
FYI, reverse doesnt change the direction of the way the prop spins to blow it out the front... it only spins 1 way... reverse is done be changing the water flow direction out the back.
The new sea-doo have a reverse option to change direction of rotation of the impeller to blow it out.
Anthony Buccafurno the iDF is not for generating directed thrust it is for pushing out weeds... it only stays on for 12 seconds at very low RPM and you have to shut off machine before and after its use.
Normal “reverse” is a bucket that pushes water flow ... 👍
That SeaDoo screen is so outdated, the Yamaha’s huge color touch screen is so much nicer.
I love my Yamaha FZS svho with minor mods I’ve done 82 and up to 83mph on glassy water 💪🏻
09:28 the action starts.
If u double tap the up arrow it will go from trim down to all up without the long hold.
What’s the point of it?
maybe add a couple of hydrofoils, should get things going
Brooks, u kept trimming up, have trim full down on launch to prevent porpoising then trim up to level or just 1 notch past. I drove ski's everyday for 14 yrs when I was a motorcycle and watercraft technician, water testing was the best part of the job 😁
I had a lot of fun doing it but I just got burnt out so I started a business with my dad (construction/general contractor) I'm in the Fort Myers area, other coast of Fl than u. Give my tip a shot, it should help with your launch. 🤙🤘
thanks!!
@@DragTimes No problem, hope it works for you!
I've got '19 FX Cruiser SVHO so this was interesting to watch. Most skis on the water I effortlessly blow-by. The only thing that's been quicker has been a GP1800R and he was about 1 MPH faster top end. I've been curious how I would stack up against a 300 HP Seadoo. Today's skis really are a blast and a performance bargain.
during acceleration can you feel the difference between Fx SVHO and Rxt x 300?
@The Insufferable Tool it makes around 250 hp
What is your top RPM with the SCOM?
On your drag times slips for the Tesla Model 3, why is there only the performance Model 3 times posted? I have a dual motor non-performance, with acceleration boost , why isn't there a area to post this model Tesla? I recently with my Tesla model 3 with accerleration boost did a 11.7839@116.79
I was waiting for your hat to fly off, hate when that happens lol!
5:16 saw it coming 🙋🏻♂️
Awesome!
Talk To JP Racing! You can get 80mph just with their Stage 1 kit. Intake, Flash, Fizzle Intercooler with Catch Can.
I don’t like Riva, went with JL Performance in Miami for my RXPX 300. Tune and few other basic mods I’m low to mid 80’s all day everyday. 100 hours with zero issues
How the hell does your hat stay on 🤣🤣🤣
He actually lost it🤣🤣🤣
That Yamaha is fast I have stage 1 Ecu reflash along with can doo gps speed module I see 75 all day long on full tank and 220 lb rider love my gp !!
I love my Yamaha and I also love my Yamaha extended warranty so I’ll be stuck at 68 mph for a while. ...YO!
If you arein warranty period, dont rev passed 8,000rpm the dealer/shop can check this. My FX SVHO runs 75mph out of the box all day. Just Riva intake grate & trim extension so far
@@_jamesrose my 75mph reading is coming from a Can doo gps module and a go pro camera not the factory dream a meter
That FX is definately not a Stage 2. It'll just be a prop and a light tune for the props sake. A stage 1 Yamaha will run 80mph
@oceanguy same. The stock paddle wheel speedo is a joke! What rpm you running mate?
Looks amazing. Wish I had made better choices in life lol.
Never to late.
Been waiting for the face cam lol
FX with tune, prop, intake..79mph gps
Brooks hat got sucked up by the other jetski!
Cool video. I am considering to buy these . What would you recommend? Which is more stable?
the yamaha is the most stable of them all in rough water also
There's a JP Racing Online channel who is also in Florida and he specializes in Sea-Doo's. Check out his channel. I'm thinking about getting a RXT-X or GTX Limited myself. Covid really shut down all of the PWC manufacturer's so it's hard to find a new ski like that today.
Get urself a Riva intake grate and ride plate. Less cavitation and faster plane time
How many hours does the scom last??
Both ski's haul respective ass, thats undeniable. However, I was out both days on the holiday weekend in the Northeast and I barely counted 5 seadoos in comparison to the 50+ yamahas, as well, I have a FxSho. Just an observation on consumer behavior and preferences
guess it depends where you're at, in Miami there are Sea Doos everywhere....
DragTimes where I am on Lake James all I see is sea doos
I LOVE THE SEA BOO 🔥 🔥 👍 👍
Great 'toy' Brooks 👍
And pretty freakin fast!!
8:19 seems like you’re not familiar with the jet pump that’s not how it works the prop never spends in the opposite direction the only thing that happens is the reversed bucket drops and moves to ski backwards never changing the direction of the prop just letting you know awesome vid tho👏🏻
$15k for the RXT? here in PR 🇵🇷 those go for $30k. 😢
$16k for a ski, Brooks is just a boss
SVHO 🚀🚀
A Stage 1 Yamaha GP1800R does 78mph with only a reflash. Which means the GP1800R would have walked all of those Seadoo's and the Yamaha FX SVHO. You should race a 2020 stage 1 Riva GP1800R. :)
@The Insufferable Tool
The new 2021 GP1800R is now better in chop than the new 2021 RXT X300. Better handling and cornering and let's not forget Yamaha owns seadoo in the P1 Aqua X racing circuit.
Hey when are you gonna cover the new 2021 turbo?
Which one? '21's aren't even close to being revealed.
L R 2021 is already revealed and been driven
Porsche 992 turbo S wait so 9 sec car???
@@2fast4youiguess75 Sea-Doo? If true, more details please. ,
L R 640 horsepower,it will understeer then oversteer depends on driver, braking distance is 39 meters or like 118 feet,3.8 flat6,shmee,carwow and the straight pipes have reviewed it already
Hat stays on at that mph!?
Did you lose your hat 😂😂
All these top of the line skis are so close from the factory. The Yamahas are hard to beat because of pure reliability and much more room to modify. Seadoos are already pretty maxed out from the factory.
Not really there is a lot you can do to the seadoo’s little 3 cylinder from a aluminum intake to bigger wheels on the supercharger the can make over 20lbs of boost on the seadoo’s. They are all really close but Yamaha definitely can take a little more abuse that the seadoo.
He's got better low end and you got the top.
Seadoo top end is no joke. I pull on every Yamy as soon as the chop starts fighting back (after about 62 mph) slowly but surely :) no hate on Yamaha, I love and respect the competition
Stock for Stock: my Yami GP 1800 mph is factory program limited to 68. My RXTX will go a true 70 before it pulls back. That's why.
My stock '19 gp1800r rides around 70-71 MPH but will go past up to 74.5 ish mph then go back down. Love this thing.
Stage one tune on 2019 gp1800r gps 75mph with a full tank and i am not a small guy! But it doesn't take the chop that well 🙄 Rode with a guy 2020 gp1800r stage 2 plus consistently running 86mph GPS smart phone speed check.. lost my phone on the deceleration first Month I owned and tuned it! That sucked, expensive lesson....
@@jeffro7475 Thanks Jeffro. The 75 sounds about right. 86 is "normally" about 2-3 mph faster than I've seen with that same "kit" installed on other such skis, but of course results can vary a very few mph depending on rider, altitude, temp., water conditions; etc.
Its just how the manufacturer tunes the stock motor... Yamaha more potential 1.8 liter vs 1.5 for Sea Doo... last year Yamaha the most dominant pwc in P1 AquaX FX SVHO took the top 2 places and the next 12 were GPs and FXs
Yamaha 🔥
Definitely look up jp racing he down Florida with you
Decent !
Fx only has a tune & impeller?
correct
Being rich looks amazing
bro what do you do for a living!? are you the owner of the vpn? whats your bread and butter? I want to see a top speed of the brand new Ford GT :)
Please more shots of the cars. You should really just show them off as much as possible. It shows how you know what you're talking about, right?!
Putting it in reverse doesn't blow it out.. the impeller is always going the same direction.
The new sea-doo have a reverse option to change direction of rotation of the impeller to blow it out.
Yeah I picked up on that too. hahahaha. When you engage reverse, this just drops the hat over the jet drive output and deflects the thrust forwards to propel the vessel backwards!
1......2.3
How did your hat stay on lol
it didn't, flew off, you can see me turning around... :)
Clear RTV
Thanks for the wonderful videos, I am subscribed to your channel a few days ago, sorry I wanted to ask you in your video write the maximum speed of the Sea-doo RXT-X with Riva accessory is 75 Mph! I wanted to know the speed without accessory is always 75 Mph? sorry my english i have been living in california for 6 years, i am deaf, i have cochlear implant, i understand english badly, i want to buy a model 2021 RXT-X. Thank you very much and sorry. Mauro.
without the accessory it drops to 68 MPH... thanks!
Putting it in reverse doesn’t blow anything out I wish people would understand that it will just make the problem worse if there is one the impeller keeps moving the same way
The new sea-doo have a reverse option to change direction of rotation of the impeller to blow it out.
My ski GP 1800 R. 82 mph. DEAN'S TEAM. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Put it in reverse to blow it out 😂😂.
Guess he doesn’t realize reverse does not change the direction of the impeller, just lowers the bucket. No iDF on that model.
Ask what rpm hes running
8,300 ish
Nautische Meilen oder Land Meilen ?
Not even close that Yamaha smoked you.
I would take the waverunner over the Sea Poo any day.
The supercharger maintenance alone on the seapoo is $6-8 PER HOUR.
Waverunner supercharger maint is $ ZERO.
My FX does 69.8 mph stock.
nice, but you're 4 skis behind the Sea-Doo when you get to that speed...
Realistically with a bigger jet most modern 250+ hp skii's can go upwards of 100mph easily, you're basically being governed by hull design.
"Easily"?? 80 is somewhat cost effective, anything over 85 requires big $$$$ and way more serious mods. More mods and $$$$$ yet to break 90. 100 requires a full turbocharger kit and still more $$$$$$.
@@LR-my2di u can go 100+ on supercharger just need 24 or a 32 lb wheel
@@JSuggs86 Could well be but, you'll need at least 100 octane race gas. No more rec. riding on 93 pump gas. The way these things drink gas, that can really get really. 17 psi wheel seems to be the tops for pump gas with a good intercooler.
... really get expensive, I meant to say.
No good. I need it to goooo 100 mile per hr😂😂😂😂
Speed runs always need to turn the hat backwards.
+.25 mph
Dude, im very surprised you dont have a Yamaha as well (Yamaha once was the engine in the older McLaren), and are the premium and reliable brand.. The Yamaha's have a larger engine, with an additional cylinder than the seadoo and are de-tuned from the factory.. Actually I think stock is only about 7psi and they can accept a lot more power than Seadoo before failure. Riva Stage 3 (17psi) kit will do a click under 90MPH (Rivas has a 24psi kit for yamaha, imagine that). but Seadoo Stage 3 + kit is closer to 85mph.
You should get a GP1800r svho (about 60lbs lighter than your buddies FX svho, and 80lbs lighter than a RXP-x).
Yamaha FTW
@The Insufferable Tool no worries, some enthusiasts are simply more into it than others. I get it. Enthusiasts like myself spend thousands in upgrades just to get another 0.5 seconds off in a quarter mile. It's a toy, a fun hobby, a reason to live for what you love.
That thing has a sports bike Yamaha engine in it. I bet he can get more power out of it than that Seadoo.
Did you really just say put it in reverse and blow it out? I hope you were joking.
The new sea-doo have a reverse option to change direction of rotation of the impeller to blow it out.
USCG equation = 200 pound rider, full tank fuel, riding in mild wake. Sets GPS to 68-69 mph.
Yamaha baby....love excuses
Sink-Doo ...gotta love BRP's garbage carbon seals.
What is the problem with seadoo's carbon seal?
Goof
Thats not possible. The yamaha is 250hp. And the seadoo is 300
It’s upgraded smart onw

Ya the Yamaha maybe fast and all but I have a sea doo spark with all performance heads a turbo and a scom unit and it drags the shit out of the Kwai and Yami boys
Really?! I hear all you will get with a turbo is around 65 mph and one large headache. Everyone says that’s about it. Plus they don’t last.
Oh really? And who the 'ell did that work for you anyway?
