- Dan Babbitt, manager of the Smithsonian’s Insect Zoo, shows why the name of the zoo is a little imprecise. The Insect Zoo is home to all five major groups of arthropods-insects, arachnids, crustaceans, millipedes, and centipedes-all of which Babbitt defines.
Thank y so much that helped me with my test about arthropods and I got A+ YAY
same helped with my slide show
Same
Brilliant, clear video with all the necessary information for a Primary science lesson. Thank you so much!!
Hmmm
Where can I go find a living example? Easy. I'm Greek and I live in the suburbia outside of Athens (somewhere near Mt Penteli). My house was built near a forest so it's easy to find insects there, there are a lot of samples there. When I say a lot, I mean a whole variety of them. My insectologist has told us to prepare an insect collection of 30 samples so we could attend the lab exams. I found 30 of them in 3 weeks and passed the exam. It was easy. Insectology is fun. Milipedes, centipedes and arachnids are easy to be found inside my house too. Now about crustaceans... I have to leave my house to find them because the sea has a far away distance from my house.
Cool
That video helped so much with my notes, my teacher of biology recomend this count! clear iformation, interesant and funny photos of the arthropods. One Hi from Madrid in Spain!
Thank you all, I have to be very brave to film this clip. Because I'm afraid of it
Well done Great examples and very clear descriptions of the different types of arthropods Thumbs up and a Share
I agree moomoomath
I just wanted to share that I saw what looked like a adult caddisfly last summer. it was on the firepit and it was about a inch long. might of been a Grey Caddisfly due to the grey coloring
i learnt 4 :myriapods(many legs)eg.millipedes,centipedes crustaceans(10 legs)eg.crabs,lobster Archnids(8 legs)eg.spiders insects(6 legs)eg.ants,bee
6th grade
Arthropods are divided into two subphyla:
Phylum: Arthropoda (Arthropods)
• Subphylum: Myriochelata (Myriochelates)
•• Superclass: Myriapoda (Myriapods)
•• Superclass: Chelicerata (Chelicerates)
• Subphylum: Pancrustacea (Pancrustaceans)
•• Superclass: Crustacea (Crustaceans)
•• Superclass: Hexapoda (Hexapods)
oh God... you're so brave. how do you take those insects in your hands like seriously this is dangerous for me. .
Enjoyed the video! Learned a lot.

I'm useing this for a science project and It Is really helping me
2:23 is that a sea turtle in insect version?
That’s what I was thinking!! So cute, I need to know what they are lol
That is a Thermonectus marmoratus!
@@angeleszuniga9074 Thanks

I love zachery

Did anyone come because of the Minecraft enchantment
That was really beautiful to watch it was really informative and brief❤️❤️ thanks ❤️
I thought Millipedes and Centipedes form the Myriapodes together.
Or is that splitting hairs?
Millipedes and Centipedes do make up Myriapods, I guess they just wanted to separate them for convenience.
Two Different classes
beautiful lil critters
Thank you for this amazing educational video! :)
Thank you it was really helpful for me.

Fantastic! Thank you!
Thank you this is helping me with my homework that you I love how this vedio really explains really well thank you so much
Nice 👍
Because of spiders and crabs and lobster being arthropods , they are all related. :) (distantly). That is why crabs look a lot like spiders
Hi..
Lovely a video..
But please be direct and simpler with listings and writing characters... and careful with their colours on their bacground..
Thank you. It was pleasant to watch
WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING THAT SPIDER-😭
Very good content with examples
What were those little swimmers 😍 they were way too cute
That is a Thermonectus marmoratus!
Why did I not learn of arthropods in the 1950's. Why was did no science teacher, talk about them in the sixties?
Thank you you helped me so much
My twentieth time rewatching this-
Please give subtitles
amazing
Arthropods are nice
Okay, so... what is the Nerscylla?
I thought all Crustaceans had only 10 legs and no more, I thought any Arthropod having more than 10 legs was classified as a Myriapod
Very educational
Sea spiders are not arachnids despite the big resemblance between them, so what are sea spiders ? Crustaceans ?
Wiktoria Jarzabek no, sea spiders are sea spiders. Horseshoe crabs are horseshoe crabs. Millipede and centipede forms a group called myriapod. So there are actually 6 groups in arthropoda.
it's not millipede or centipede it's miriapod
Smasher_ 5678 is the penis
I thought I was crazy cause I knew it was miriapod. smasher_5678 i'm so glad you commented about this that's why I even scrolled down the comments to see if anyone mentioned it
can you dont
ye I also thought that. But hearing the difference between Centipedes and Millipedes was still interesting to me.
