Awesome job Lily! You are all doing such a great job with your videos! The backgrounds on collectible items is very interesting & I like the visuals you are adding in showing & explaining what details to look for!
Just sold 3 LOL’s, mint in packaging from 2017. And I’m a huge LEGO collector. I also found some Hello Kitty outfit sets for Barbie today...I cleaned out the last 6 packages they had. Hello Kitty has a huge fan base.
Hello Lilly, you are such a good presenter, great future a head for you. I am much older then you, but I started collecting vintage sewing patterns. From the 20s, to 70s, mostly because people are throwing them out. It s a fashion history and I love looking at them. Keep inspiring.
as an antique collector and dealer I very much enjoyed this there's a few items il start to keep eye out for when I go picking through garage sales and flee Markets
Most people collect what they like, not what might go up in value. If you just buy the items that are hot today, and don't flip them now, you will probably lose money - think of all the people who bought Beanie Babies in the 90s. I like to buy stuff that is out of fashion, as you get very good prices. If you like 19th-century landscape paintings, oriental rugs, or solid-wood furniture, you can get very favorable prices right now. In the area of smalls, things like Royal Doulton figurines and art pottery is at a pretty low ebb right now.
I just started funkogoing the mandalorian set started with the 10" mandalorian with child and next cara dune, armored mando...the collecting mentality is great to see in a child.
1) Like everyone else has said, your daughter is an amazingly confident speaker. 2) I have way too many Funko figures. And they produce so many so fast, I feel like they are going to be the next Beanie Babies, not even worth the cost to ship them. But I didn’t collect mine for the money. I collected them because I am a pop culture junkie and adored the movies and shows and musicians whose figures I collected. I like having them! I could probably pare the collection down, but my ones that are worth the most (Supernatural Dean with the Impala, Mr. Miyagi, etc.) are the ones I most love and the last ones I would ever sell. Story of my collecting life: the few things I have that are worth real money, I would never part with! 😝
Good points and one that should be reinforced with very young collectors is something is only worth money if there is someone who will buy it. May be obvious but a lesson in smart collecting. I always stressed to children to collect things you like, the rest will be bonus. As you have said Benie babies took there toll.
Loved your video, I'm trying to get my 10 year old into collecting along side me and just your presentation was on point.... As a contractor it is driving me crazy that your foundation wall is not finished out, straight and level. Please use a nice trim and level that out and leaving the trim 2" inches higher than the top of the foundation wall. Doing this will give you a stop that will protect your collectables from siding off. Also, you can add a rope light behind the trim around that would give your back drop a display look instead of a pile of stuff. You can upgrade studio for less than a hundred bucks. On my way to see more of your videos. Your presentation was on point. Cheers!
We are also a daddy daughter. Collecting is so much fun. Shout out from New Zealand. Have an awesome day 💥! From HWFAH (Hot Wheels, Lego, Cards & collectables)👍

I'm not sure but they produced so many of them I would be hard pressed to believe it would be worth alot. Maybe some rare style might fetch some money but most probably will not
I'm 35 I remember the time I got Blastoise 1st edition back in 98 and I misplaced it somewhere in the house. So there was a rumor that pokemon cards were going to be rare and valuable so I started looking for it I asked mom if she seen it she said yea she threw it away. I don't know what it's worth now but I'm guessing a lot.
@@66uniqueantiques I got a tote full, my daughter ( she is 29 now and having our second grandchild) didn’t want to open them so we just saved them. I will have to do some research. I sold my comic book collection from my childhood to pay medical bills. Got 8,000$ for them on eBay 8 years ago. Been selling a lot of my stuff on Craigslist just so I don’t have so much junk.
I used to sell McDonald's Minions in huge lots for about $20 a pop. They ALWAYS sold but, generally, McToys are not a major cash in..unless you have large lots, expired McDonald's characters (Mayor McCheese or similar) and 80s Happy Meal toys in excellent condition.
The one thing you’re saying that I think is just a plain mistake is opening any of these. Do not open the Lego box and play with them. That will completely destroy the price you can sell them for. Same with Pokémon cards. Sealed products are worth way more
something that was not mentioned is militaria mainly pre gulf war as ive been noticing certain items like helmets getting harder and harder to find that and the fact more and more people are doing living history, etc i think there could be a huge price increase sometime soon i mean you can already see it with ww1 and 2 items
I looked up the value on an autographed baseball card given to me by the Pitcher, and his Mom, when Grandma came on Hospice. If I decided to sell it at our garage sale this spring, I might be able to ask/get $10.00 for it. Hmm, gotta think about moving that memory, in case someone local would treasure it as much as I do.
My best Star Wars is an unused 4-set from "The Empire Strikes Back"; (Burger King/Coke). If I sell, best to look at older kid, adult mkt., or? Wrapped & boxed for 40 years.
Disappointed that COINS are not included in this list. I've been collecting for over 30 years and have made a lot of money buying and selling and today have a world class collection.
Pokémon is a gamble, you may be spending more than getting that valuable card with 30-50 usd after spending hundreds.. plus there are scalpers everywhere who boost the price making it difficult for people to join the thrill of seeking that special rare cards
Anything Disney seems to hold decent value but especially limited edition and underappreciated characters that may not have a huge fan base till 10+yrs
LEGO not Legos 🤣 can see huge potential from a lot of current sets, generally peak price is 18-24months after set retirement though which was a surprise to me. Those funko pops I’ve always thought were interesting, mind blown about the values. Would be worth grabbing a couple of super popular characters now for 15 years time when these kids grow up and get all nostalgic
