    Born on January 19th, 1960 in Ashford in the UK, Sir David Mark Rylance Waters trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. As the first artistic director of the Globe, Shakespeare holds a special place in his heart and development as an actor and a director. His generous curiosity and appetite for artistic exploration led him to mesmerising incarnations on stage (Jerusalem, Boeing Boeing,, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard The Third, Hamlet, etc...) as well as on screen (Bridge of Spies, Dunkirk, The Trial of the Chicago 7, The BFG, etc...)

    2021 - Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for "The Trial of the Chicago 7
    2016 - Academy Award and BAFTA Film Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for the film "Bridge of Spies"

    2014 - Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play for "Twelfth Night"

    I saw Jerusalem last night after years of teaching it forA-level literature. I feel like I will not ever be the same human being again. I am truly humbled that I have been in the presence of a great actor in his greatest role in a great play that has great things to say about Englishness.
    Thank you for this video. When my atoms become human again I want to be an actor. Becoming another person in one lifetime is a gift afforded to very few.

    He also said that and I paraphrasing, “ acting is what happenes between the players or between the actors and themselves or the audience “
    In other words, there is an intangible process at work in and amongst the people in a theater, whether they be onstage or in the audience….
