May be in RS Khurmi the 1st option is true because they may consider this "clutch - mainshaft" as "Clutch mainshaft" means they want to say its clutch mainshat not clutch then mainshaft, that is why they don't use mainshaft word again in first option.
Note: in my advise exam point of view se reputed books ke options tick karney se fayda rahta hai, because question paper satters also pick question and answer from such books. but if some technical mistake is there in book then you can correct it.
