Onokatsu's tachi-ai was a bit weak and Kotoshoho drove him off the dohyo. Nishikigi maintained his concentration and his energy in driving out Midorifuji in a long bout. Meisei overcharged, got turned around and was pushed off the dohyo by Takerufuji. Tamawashi used s simple oshi attack and pushed Churanoumi off the dohyo. weak resistance by Takarafuji and he gets pushed off the dohyoy by Oshoma. Takayasu used his thrusting attack and then slapped down Endo. Ichiyamamoto uses a thrusting attack but finishes on the belt to send Mitakeumi off the dohyo. Hiradoumi is stubborn with his yotsu-zumo attack and gets the lackluster Shodai off the dohyo. Chiyoshoma has had a bad time with Ura in the past but not today, dropping Ura to the dohyo with a right handed overarm throw. Oho overpowers Wakatakakage with an oshi attack. Gonoyama throws Wakamotoharu to the dohyo after driving him back. Daieisho uses an oshi attack without the nodo-wa and sends Atamifuji off the dohyo. Abi has had trouble with Kotozakura in the past but not today, using his nodo-wa to keep Kotozakura on the defensive. Onosato stays on balance and pushes Kirishima off the dohyo. strong right handed belt attack by Hoshoryu and Tobizaru is sent down and off the dohyo. Terunofuji looked ok in driving Takanosho off the dohyo although it took a bit of time and effort.
Gonoyama needs to nore often use the fear of his onslaught to setup other paths to victories like he did today. Abi with some killer right hand placement to take advantage of the ghost of kotozakura. Where was the urgency today from koto?
Teru is looking like he is walking on egg shells, still looks concerning to me. I hope his knees can hold up one more time to give the Ozekis a worthy fight for their Yokuzuna promotion run.
