There’s two ways to interpret the POV of this song. The first is with this video which was a later addition. A chaos space marine about to join Abaddon’s Black Legion has visions of what Khorne offers. The second is the POV of Khârn which was what inspired the song’s lyrics. I hadn’t planned to write a Khorne song but it just came to me in a wave of inspiration. I tried to mix lyrics that were slightly comical and serious, portraying someone in the depths of the butcher’s nails but also looking back at the their legion’s history.
Musically I went for thrash metal in the style of Slayer, Pantera, Metallica etc but also heavily influenced by DOOM(the solo draws from E4M1 and outro E3M3). The music is meant to portray the World Eaters charging into battle. If you’ve ever seen the film “Gangs of New York” I was imaging Daniel Day-Lewis as Kharn charging the frontlines.

I won't lie, for a moment I thought it was going to be almost 4 minutes of "Blood for the blood god!" Though only now am I realizing there's 8 of them, Khorne would be mildly less angry at this song. Never happy is the lord of skulls.
What’s funny is that is exactly how the song started. I thought how a song about Khorne would just be Legionnaires shouting “Blood for the Blood God” until Kharn got pissed and lectured them about words not appeasing Khorne before charging into battle.

THE NAILS ARE BITING
The heavy and brutal riffs, the bloodcurdling vocals, truly an all encompassing song when it comes to Khorne. I saw the beautiful interpratations that Lorcan has made, as always an artist who envisions the song as a painting and a theatrical play, not just music! Yet, I wish to add once again my own visual: The exalted path of the berzerker, who may have began as a simple marine, who refuses to succumb to his wounds under a corpse emperor, so he took the bribe of a different master - Khorne, the blood god. The song narrates his ascension through battles and campaigns, from empty promises and a sacrament of what must be done, to the ever repeating cry of his task, "pile their skulls to mountainous heights", and the final epitomy of his deeds, his magnum opus, as he goes from a vain follower, to the chosen speaking the sacrament himself.
And now for a lighter addition to the above: The first time listening was "Oh, this is good!", the 888th is headbanging and yelling "PILE THEIR SKULLS TO MOUNTAINOUS HEIGHTS!"

Perfectly encapsulates Kharn’s philosophy surrounding why the Emperor created the Astartes and what they were made for: a weapon that would not tire, would not balk at any massacre or casualties, and would never, *ever* stop.
The deadliness of the Astartes isn’t due to their technology, their equipment, or even their training or strategy, but simply due to the fact that they can endure and keep fighting longer than anything else.
That’s why entire worlds full of trillions of people armed with technological wonders and peerless discipline fall to a few thousand blood-crazed savages…
Great to see this lyric passage hit home. He takes a jibe at the Death Guard and Emperor's Children but the final two lines are addressed to every Astartes Legion.

This is proper early 2000s metal. I prefer your metal core stuff but this works great for current 40k world eaters. Kharn vs erebus song on the second album metalcore style "get up". Well done though. Will share.

One of my personal favs with how it suddenly slows down from the verse but the heavy guitars make sure it has a punch. Some influence from the Bloodquest comic and a reference to their old legion pre-Angron too.
@@LorcanWard Exactly! the first thing it brought to mind was a song called "Sinä et ole yhtään mitään" from Sotajumala. Was honestly kind of lukewarm to the song until the first pile the skulls to mountainous heights hit, but this is definitely right up there with Sojourn and Heretek for me now.

You've fit the description of Khorne's embodiment to a tea perfectly. this song also is awesome, Although I guess Khorne being the easiest Chaos God to make a tribute song because everyone knows what he is about would be and his demons and legion that unconditionally obeys without any contradiction would be something that any RUclipsr with similar calibre can do. But still you beat them to the punch
Originally I wasn’t going to make a song since as you said Khorne is one of the easier ones, that’s when I got the idea to have Kharn interrupt and sing his song. Fun to channel the World Eater’s energy and their many battle cries.

It doesn't really have a name, you could classify it as groove/thrash metal but it's more of a compositional technique with the vocals following the music and the accompaniment having staccato notes. A Chaos Knight song? I'll have to think about that.

I've got a few ideas for Word Bearers songs. There is a lot to work with since there is Erebus, Lorgar, The Gal Vorbak, even the Word Bearer legion themselves.

I suppose a band of World Eaters is a lot more preferable to Emperor’s Children or Word Bearer’s but the 41st millennium is a very grim place as a civilian with constant threat of invasion, recruitment or just being rounded up to shovel uranium on a starship.

I don't mean to start a fight... The lyrics to the song are obviously World Eaters, but why are the legions in the video called World Bearers?
Because there is very little animated footage of World Eaters available. You have to work with what you can find and the Battlefleet Gothic cut scenes suited the song well.
some of the words are more like the beat of drums, but its still an impressive music video.
