In Well-tempered tuning systems (Modern Tuning Systems) All intervals are equalized so there is no difference between minor scales. Now 300 years ago your claim wouldve been better, but now thats completely false.
hey man you should stream your creative process on twitch, i would love sit and watch you create music instead of the 7 min videos. None the less love your content
Wow i know there are a lot of people doing these kind of videos but i have to admit that your style is by far one of the best ive seen doing this. very informative and well done, Keep it up!
If you love this stuff and have a real passion for it, don't let anything discourage you. It may appear effortless because I only show off the things that sort of turn out okay. I made 5 beats before this one and they were all garbage. I think a useful skill to develop is having the intuition to know when to move on or to know when something isn't going to work out. Over the past few years I've gotten a keener sense of that, and I've been able to identify when I should scrap a project sooner because of it. I totally understand the frustration, I'm in that boat every time I start working on one of these videos. I start fresh, figure out which direction I want to go in, attempt it, and 99% of the time my first few tries do not work. If I'm really having a tough time and nothing is working out after 5+ attempts, I move on to a completely different direction entirely and start questioning whether or not I'm really talented enough to do this. It's normal, but don't let that voice in your head beat you.
damn, thanks for the kind words. it helps to know that you mess and scrap projects too. I guess my problem is not knowing where to place stuff. I have these beats in my head that I can imagine but just struggle to put it onto the computer. Thanks again for the kind words, I wont be giving up this passion anytime soon! seriously appreciate it. I can't wait to see you blow up.
man never delete your old projects . when you finally get to that point where youre making good music consistently (everyone makes bad music even the full timers like pierre bourne and metro) then you can look back on your old ones to laugh or even for inspiration and you can maybe even keep the original, copy it, and fix and finish the beat to be proper .
All about practice and practice. Keep fiddling around until u have something that really catches your ear and build off of it. Take breaks and go back to your work when u get stuck. Keep watching tutorials, export and re-export to get your mixes just right. Shit happens overtime big fella
Hands down best tutorials on RUclips. Thank you man. Would you be able to do a big software overview? Like what plugins you have and if you would recommend them for others?
Yeah I might do that, although I personally don't think that plugins matter that much. I don't want to give people the impression that "if you want to make beats you have to spend all this money on these specific plugins" because that's not true at all. If you want a list of my favorite plugins to use though they're: fab filter Saturn for saturation, fab filter pro-c for compression, fab filter pro-q for EQ, pro-L for limiting, ozone stereo imager... Omnisphere, native instruments Kontakt and my favorite piano to use is the Giant piano from the Kontakt library
I used to make full songs, I have a couple old ones on my channel, like "Don't Play", "Aspergers Freestyle", "Feels Good" and a handful of others. I haven't had much inspiration lately, but making these videos allows me to get out some of my creative energy and gives me a sense of fulfillment where I can make something and teach/inspire others. I may make full songs again in the future, but I'm not sure when
yo this was heat bro, really appreciate you goin into detail on how you got your vocals like that, i produce but want to get into singing so that was really helpful and i love the ambiance
Thanks, most of my arps are made/found in Omnisphere. My drums are just random kits I've collected, some Zaytoven, Jahlil Beats kits, free Johnny Juliano kits, I also have a few drum samples I made myself, slowly trying to put together a kit of my own. You can get most of the drums I have on reddit by just googling "reddit trap drum kit" or something along those lines.
I don't record in FL Studio. I use Acoustica Mixcraft to record vocals (it's not a very good DAW, but I've been using it since I was 13 so I'm really comfortable with it).
Bro i must say your lyrically amazing... U just nailed it in all ur video can teach us how to come up with good lyrics i love to write some rap lyrics but doesn't know how to write it especially the words... How to use proper words to make some sense in ur lyrics
I am considering doing a tutorial on writing, but I'm not quite sure how to teach it. I've been writing lyrics for 15 years, it's not something I put much conscious effort into at this point, it just flows out naturally. I figure out what flow I want to use and then just rhyme whatever comes to mind. If I make a video I want to make sure my tips are useful and something people can start applying immediately to their writing process to improve their work.
just write in the video i want to see how you do it and how you think, like what do you do exactly what goes through your mind, i saw other youtube videos they were useless honestly, i just want to see like how it works, can you do lyrics like how lil peep writes ? like how do you do that , how can you be creative in writing
This is lit af. I'm a rapper from the US, Louisville Kentucky to be precise, and I draw a lot of inspiration from the Toronto scene. Respect from South of the border man 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Omnisphere. It's a custom patch with the "love signs" sample in slot A and "cave water" in slot B. If you have omnisphere you can make the pad in like 2 minutes
You gotta keep your head up and stay more confident.. you’re way to good to call any beats you do cringe. You’ve taught me wayyyy too much and this is way too good so own that shit J. Rent

Thanks, Stephen! I appreciate it man!

Exactly what i was gonna say!!
@@willembresser9124 u being sarcastic?
D Minor is scientifically defined as the saddest key! Maybe that's why you gravitate to it when you want to do more ambient beats! =)
That's a myth
ur a myth >:((((((((
Minor is minor regardless of which key
