ROM Geoagiu Bai se numea acum mai bine de 2000 de ani, Germisara.
Se pare ca e un nume dacic care inseamna izvor cald. Romanii au apreciat efectele curative ale acestor izvoare si au creat o asezare de lux pentru personalitatile vremii.
Ceea ce vedem azi sunt ruine vechilor bai termale.
După retragerea romanilor, Geoagiu Bai a rămas părăsită multă vreme.Abia pe la mijlocul secolului XVI, apar mențiunile unei stațiuni nou înființată de regele Ungariei.
Dar dezvoltarea efectivă până la ce știm azi, a început prin secolul XX.
In apropierea statiunii se afla si cascada Clocota. Este mare, impresionanta, cu coloane de travertin si tuf.
Daca va aflati in zona, merita sa va abateti pentru o scurta vizita.
🔴 ENG Geoagiu Bai was called, more than 2,000 years ago, Germisara.
Looks like it's a Dacian name that means hot spring. The Romans appreciated the curative effects of these springs and created a luxurious settlement for the personalities of the time. What we see today is the ruins of the ancient thermal baths.
After the retreat of the Romans, Geoagiu Bai was left deserted for a long time. It is only in the middle of the 16th century that the name of a newly established resort by the King of Hungary appears. But actual development to what we know today began in the twentieth century.
Near the resort, there is the waterfall Clocota. It's big, impressive columns of travertine and tuff. If you are in the area, worth deviating for a short visit.

The walk up to the waterfalls passing the incredible ruins looks like a fun and inspiring journey. Personally, I find waterfalls incredibly relaxing to watch and appreciate. Thank you for taking us on this awesome video tour.

Great historical place, Greeks and Romans had a big love for thermal baths, even had religious connention with that places, they belive the "nymphs" lived in those waters, beautiful waterfall.
