    Great video Will (as always). I wish this was out there last year. I purchased 3 different sets as I was trialing and testing different sizes to correctly fit my boat. There are a lot of bad recommendations out there because folks don't understand each boat is different...but you made it happen. I probably ended up with not the best roller for my trailer, but it is probably the best to preserve my boat wrap. Something to keep in mind when suggesting a roller (roller friction is not our friend).
    Again, thanks for your integrity and innovation. This is why I'm a jetboatpilot customer for life.

    Excellent video Will. Thank you. After extensive experimenting with my boat I ended up with the RP-446 for my boat. (2021 212SE) That being said, I had to order one from Drewcraft that he cuts down to fit the narrower bracket on the Shorelandr trailers like mine. You may find on the semi-v bows (newer Yamaha) that the RP-446 is too wide for the trailer bracket, and you may have to offer a narrower version. (Drewcraft offers one) I didn't use the 434 bells on mine because they didn't contact the hull fully. But after watching your video, I realize they don't have to. Thank you ! (Rob Ortiz)

    Great work on getting these kits put together. Not having a lot of engineering experience with bow rollers, could I sleeve the through bolt(smaller bolt for clearance) to allow free spinning rollers without fear of over tightening the nut? Great content for those of us new to jet boats!

    • @JetBoatPilot
      @JetBoatPilot  Год назад

      You don't need a sleeve. The nylock nut allows for it to be tightened enough to hold and does not require compression to remain tight. We also just changed over to a shorter nylock nut so there would be more threads exposed on a wider variety of configuations.

    I have a 2021 212SE and I went round and round trying to find the right stotz roller for my boat. I ended up going with the 446 but I had to have it cut down because it was too wide. I have a painted Shorelandr trailer and for some reason the bracket is narrower. I believe it’s because it has a Dutton-Lainson winch. I would like to order the kit for my boat but want to make sure it’s going to fit before ordering. Are you aware of this issue? TIA

      Not sure about the painted trailer. Tell me the exact dimensions between the roller mount brackets and I'll confirm if our recommended kit will fit well.

      @@JetBoatPilot I installed the Stoltz roller, and there is a lot of slop in it. I used the washers that came with it but was not enough, added the washers that was with the original roller, they are twice as thick as the ones that came with the new roller, seems ok, outside rollers are a little stiff, but they move, inside roller moves very easily and about a tread showing. Wondering if the center piece is the right size since there was so much slop (1/4").

    There is also a one off Boat Trailer manufacturer in Florida well known for producing literally going on decades now a "proper"(well engineered durable) trailer/trailer braking system that I think simply uses inertia rather than anything electrical in order to apply "the trailer braking force." That's the rumor anyways.
    Having anything that can aid in making a Jet Drive system function better in austere, humid and ocean salt conditions cannot be overemphasized enough as a worthy upgrade as well as creating the in sequence procedures as necessary both before and after for both boat and trailer be proper maintained for said conditions.
    Just ask the US Navy by way of example for examples in how exactly *NOT* to do jet drives in the salt correctly.
