  • Don Copa hosted the 2021 Northern Minnesota Draft Horse Association (NMDHA) Field Day on his farm in Little Falls, Minn. He had his extensive collection of horse drawn implements set out in the field ready for the teamster to use. Joe got there early for a private tour!
Today Don shows us his collection of plows. He also explains how a plow is measured, how to find the proper alignment of the plow share with the evener to get the proper draft and location of the horse(s) in relationship to the furrow. He explains many of the varying details of the plows we see.

When I was in college in Ft. Wayne, Indiana I went north into Amish country and saw a man with a three bottom plow pulled by three Belgians. Their hooves were moving almost as much soil as was the plow. On that same trip I almost locked up the brakes on my truck because an Amish youngster was racing towards Main St. on a cross street. He yanked on the reins and stomped on the brake lever and 8 hooves and 2 tires were striking sparks on the pavement. When he came to a halt the horses' noses were even with the stop sign. Darn hot rodder! I almost shat myself. LOL

Super utilaje agricole tractate de cai. Păcat că nu am situație materială bună pentru că asta mi-ar fi plăcut să fac. Să lucrez terenurile agricole cu utilaje tractate de cai.
