That’s an amazing dish for winter Sam. I absolutely love your content and everytime you post, it makes my day even better. Keep being positive and keep improving Sam, love your content and this long format. All the best ❤️
Beautiful Pie, definitely next level mate! Mouth is watering. I will be guilty of saying that I do prefer cottage pie. But when the lamb is prepared properly, it doesn’t have that gamey taste. I will try your recipe Sam! And by the way, I am really loving these longform videos where you can see more of your personality. You’re such a natural in front of the camera. ❤haha
In France, we have almost the same recipe but with beef or duck, in south-west France and with emmental cheese or breadcrumbs on top. It's absolutely delicious! 🤤 This recipe with lamb looks incredible too! 🤩
I haven't made cottage pie in ages and I really should soon. The fork technique makes so much sense, I dont know why I never thought of that! Thanks Sam, the food looks scrumptious as usual 😋
This popped up in my feed - I was going to say where have you been?! But I think RUclips was acting wacky - it’s been so long that YOU look different as well ! Still handsome tho. This looks delicious- I think I’d need to take your word for it in terms of the cumin and cinnamon - but will definitely put this on my list of things to make this fall/winter. ❤
@@jytyp Shepherd's Pie would be considered a traditional/regional dish. Everything Sam makes is incredible, so it's not a critique of quality, just naming... Good day.
I don't think altering a few things like that fundamentally changes the dish. Definitely not 100% traditional but the core components are all there and there's no completely random items like tofu or something.
The few spices really enhance the flavour of the lamb giving it a beautiful depth. Of course, make it how you’d prefer to though! There’s many variations you can do. This is just the way I think it tastes best 🙌🔥
British food made by Sam actually look delicious. Great recipe for a warm winter night❤
Thank you! 🙏🔥

I’ve literally just finished making a shepherds pie and I actually looked on your channel yesterday to see if you had a recipe for inspiration🤦🏻♀️😂
Next time! 😂
First time checking out your long form content, it's awesome. The tid bits of info you add of why you're doing something, really helps educate us.
Our finest meal, and delighted to see it served with a mound of peas. Glorious

Hey an og fan here , I recommend you to change the thumbnail text style as it was in previous long vids it looks a bit better , great stuff man!
WOW! it's so amazing sam!
Cottage pie and Cumberland pie are my favourite, but that looks banging for a shepherd's pie, Sam 😊
🙏
Wow, that’s beautiful 🤩
🔥🔥
watching your videos while on a diet is the dumbest thing to do 😭😭
😏😂
Oh hell yes, we've got ultimate comfort food now!
Yessssir 🔥🔥
What can I use as a substitute for red wine to make it child-friendly?
He explains that at 2:56
he said you can use vinegar instead 2:57
Skip it, or add a dash of balsamic or red wine vinegar

I could eat that whole tray no problems
Easily done 😏
Can i use olive oil and salt instead in potato mash ?
That's what he's suggested in other videos. The flavours of this mash compliment the shepherd's pie pallet
You can, but like the other comment mentioned, the cream and butter there works very well with the lamb!
Don’t forget to take out the cinnamon stick and bay leaves 🤪 unless you unique like that
YES! Don’t. They’re so big that if you did leave them in anyway you’d hopefully realise before crunching down on them 😅
A bit non-traditional, eh? Cumin, cinnamon, red wine? I'm sure it's fantastic, but maybe stretching it to call it Shepherd's Pie?
Why would that be stretching it? If you add "non traditional" spices to a cheeseburger does it stop being a cheeseburger?

It's lamb gravy topped with mash. That's a shepherd's pie.
Every Brit adds our own spin to shepherd's pie, cottage pie, Cumberland pie etc

Mine's better 😂
The first stage of grief over a cottage pie is WILD
@themangolorian4074 is a joke
Second 😂😂
Have you tried this with different cuts of pulled beef, including oxtail?
@gordonramsay i found your lamb sauce
