I live in the UK but was in Oceanside last year and had a walk along the pier. Really beautiful place all along that coast. And by coincidence I just bought a 22 GTX 230 very similar to yours (and I’m 56 so you’re never too old)
Sea you on the water 😊

Wow, live in the UK! Getting my videos. Thank you so much for tuning in and watching.
Absolutely love Oceanside! If you are ever back in the area reach out, I’d love to meet you someday.
And you are right. Never too old! Enjoy your awesome new machine!
Next time, I will see you on the water!

Nice!!! First time owner of a GTX 2021, also. I love the total freedom and adrenaline rush I get each time I go out. I reacted the same way you did the first time I put it in sport mode. This will be my third season and I can't wait to get back out on the water. I now have 100 hours and not one problem. I have followed the manual for all maintenance schedules. I have added Riva Sponsons and Top-Loader Intake Grate, the Garmin GPS 62CV, with the In-hull Transducer, Floorboard Wedges, Cup Holder, Knee Pads and Storage Organizer. At the moment I'm having my seats reupholstered to grey, with black trim. (not a fan of the gold) I enjoy your videos, and your enthusiasm. Greetings from Rhode Island! And you are right, it is never too late. 71 years old. Hike The Whites!

Dude, I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one who got a late start owning a Sea-Doo. You said you're 52 as a first time owner. I'm turning 58 in 2 weeks and my wife and I just bought a 2023 GTR 230. We've only had it for 2 weeks and took it out one time so far but I can't wait to get back out there and see what it has for me. I've yet to try the Sport Mode but I'm going to be trying it when we go to Alamo Lake in AZ for my 58th birthday. I lived in CA for just over 50 years and love Oceanside but now I'm in AZ so lots of opportunities to ride my Doo. I've enjoyed your videos so far and look forward to see more. I just installed my snap in fenders installation kit using the tips from your video and it made installation so much easier. Rock on Deric and thanks so much for the video! 🚤

Hey there Sparky! Wow. Thanks for reaching out! Im having a blast with my Sea-Doo! So will you. Be sure to get your 'break in period" done before you get into SPORT mode. My wife and I are wanting to go to AZ with the Doo! Hope to be there this summer.
Absolutely love OSIDE! We can hit up a lot of different ports from here with in 10min or 45min even an hr. We want to go to AZ!
I always say, "time waits for no one and tomorrow is not promised." So lets GO and do the DOO!
Next time...."I'll see ya on the water!"

    • @steelers4sparky
      @steelers4sparky Год назад

Thanks Bud! The owner's manual says 5 operating hours for the break in period so I'll definitely make sure to follow the manual. I can wait on the sport mode until then.
AZ is a great place and I love it more and more the longer I'm here. It's not CA but it's just different. Having the Doo is going to make it so much better. Lake Mead is an awesome place and huge with endless opportunities so we're going there after our trip to Alamo Lake.
I agree, tomorrow is never promised so let's have fun and I do hope "I'll see ya on the water!"

How does the GTX handle if you want to every so often throw it in to sharp turns or jumps?

    • @TheOceansideGuy
      @TheOceansideGuy  11 месяцев назад

Hi Thanks for the question. The GTX holds good with sharp turns with the stock Sea-Doo sponsons. How ever when you install the RIVA Pro Sponsons the tight and sharp turns become that much better. Meaning, the ski will stick and hold the turn without much tail slide like the stock sponsons would. Here is a link to our explanation to the RIVA Sponsons and how we did the install.

Thank you Deric for answering my question on how fast your Sea Doo goes. The reason why I got the GTX 170 is because in Michigan lakes and rivers the speed limit is 50mph you go 55mph BUT! you have to be 1 mile out from shore and the Sheriff Patrols are waters very closely. Question, Did you put your own registration sticker letters and numbers on your Sea Doo??? This summer I'm starting my own RUclips channel but it's not just going to be me on my Sea Doo I'm going to diversify do a lot more things on the channel. Like your channel can't wait for your next video bro you and your wife be safe and have fun. (Live Life Live Strong) ciao for now you 2

How many hours you waited before using SPORT mode? there is 10 hours break-in period you should not use that mode. I got the same model GTX-230. Got it to the water only once for 1.5 hours. Throttle should be max 1/2 or 3/4 according to manual. Good video ! We are in 1 daily digits temperature again here in Canada.

The manual recommends 5 hours for the break-in, page 108.
      BREAK-IN PERIOD
      Operation During Break-In
      Period
      A break-in period of 5 operating hours
      is recommended before running the
      watercraft at sustained full throttle.
      During this period, maximum throttle
should not exceed 1/2 to 3/4 opening.
      However, brief full acceleration and
speed variations contribute to a good
      break-in.
      NOTICE
      Continued wide open throttle accelerations
      or operation, prolonged
      cruising speeds are
      detrimental during the break-in
      period.
      NOTE:
During the first 3 hours of operation,
the engine management limits the engine
      maximum speed for engine protection.
      The engine performance will
      progressively
