Thanks so much for the support! Absolutely no idea what I'm doing but that's the fun isn't it!
Lots of Love, Georgie xxx
God I hate when employers tell you they'll call you no matter the outcome, and then never do. Why say you will if you won't?
please talk about the auditions and how it works to get them! It would be greatly appreciated xx
Yes please
I’ve just found your channel and as someone who hopes to be on the west end when I’m older I love your videos! Xx❤️
One thing that surprised me about auditions are how important a dance/movement call is even though it’s more
Of a singy 🎤 type of musical. I’m graduating this year but I’m VERY worried about that as my short term memory is absolutely awful and it takes me a while to remember any choreography! 🤯🙈😂 xx
I promise you, it is less important than you think. I’ve managed to survive many moons in the business and I have had about 3 dance calls in my life😂. (Worth mentioning, I was abysmal at all 3 of them ha ha.) You just tend to end up in rooms for things that suit your skill set so please don’t worry xxxx
Yep completely agree with @allysonbrown. Last 3 jobs I've done I've had no dance calls at all even though all had movement lol
@@allysonbrown9159 thank you soooo much for such a lovely comment! 🙋🏽🙏🏽 whenever we have dance calls at drama school I can NEVER remember the choreography on the spot so I usually improvise a lot of the moves because I’m just not a dancer. 👀😂 But THANK YOU so much for reminding me that I’m not expected to know how to do everything and that the jobs I’ll audition for will be suited to what I can do. You’ve definitely put my mind at ease! ✨☺️ xxxx
@@CuppaCupboard this is so good to know! What a relief! 😅 thank you so much for letting me know! 🥳 xx
@@JuneStay definitely practise as much as you can. But if you're very good at singing and acting there are still jobs. The only downside is that you then have to go straight for leads, so getting that first job can be a little tougher as you won't have the ensemble experience to reassure the panel. But again not impossible.
Thank you so much for making these types of videos!! I hope you’re doing well 💖
Thank you! You too! xxx
I love these videos. Really helpful to me who loves theatre and wants to get into the industry
Thank you so happy you enjoyed :) xx
I’m so glad someone finally said it out loud - I once got down to the last 2 for a big show and never, ever heard anything/got feedback 👀 lol nightmare!
Love your videos! So interesting x
Thank you so much!! xxx
Awesome video! Very informative and useful 🤗💖
Glad it was helpful! Thank you :) xxx
omg this is so helpful thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful! You are so welcome :) xxx
I am playing billy in school of rock UK tour so I am just here for lots of tips
Had no idea that you could go through rounds and rounds of auditions for a part and then find that the actor in that part had decided to stay, so even though you might be perfect, that 's the end of the line for you! Only ever done auditions for amateur shows 😉
Loving the snazzy backgrounds lately 😁 How is the house coming along?
haha thank you! It is getting there slowly but surely 😅 hopefully have some updates soon!
I got a shot on a close audition for Miss Saigon, pure cos I am Asian (adopted), was ill prepared, however I will still try
You really explained the truth about west end auditions very clearly. Honestly, it's the same here in the States. I'm in NYC and so many of these are the same for us here.
hi from an aspiring broadway actress !! just wanted to say you are so sweet and i rly look up to you
Hello!! Aw thank you so much :) xxx
Everyone wanting to be in the Industry should watch the movie ‘ AChorus Line’
Michael Douglas, proarrr!!
Or read Making it on Broadway
Strongly agree!!
Was required for us at my college cause we’re trained by Broadway professionals/legends, and actors/actresses
I definitely dont have the skills or experience for West End shows yet, but how would you go about actually finding the audition for one? I want to be a West End actress when i finish my a levels, but im genuinely not sure how to get there.
You could go to a drama school/MT college which would give you a huge step up and help you get training and an agent
I was more surprised by the things people didn't know eg I thought it was well known that you tend to take songs from your own repertoire. They even show that in movies
Yep very true. It's shifted so much since 2020 here in the States though. Most of the time in NYC/LA we aren't bringing in our own songs anymore.
Not sure how it is out there, but in the US, every Equity production is required to hold open auditions every year, regardless whether they have openings for roles or not. The actor's are informed that there are no open roles, but it's always good to go in for future casting.
Yep so true. Thanks for sharing this point about us here in the States.
Never knew that the big shows prep auditions and go through the process on the off chance lead actors may leave and then they actually don't. I suppose it gives you a chance to learn the audition ropes but must be disheartening.
This is such a great point thanks for sharing!
