Kari Rueslåtten was one of the founder members of the progressive doom metal band The 3rd and the Mortal. The band was a source of inspiration for many other bands worldwide, among them Nightwish and The Gathering. After leaving The 3rd and the Mortal in 1995 she has released four solo-albums; Spindelsinn (1997), Mesmerized (1998), Pilot (2001), Other people’s stories (2004) and Time To Tell (2014). Kari’s magnificent voice is the result of natural talent combined with classical training and roots in the Norwegian folk music tradition. She has since 2014 been part of a joint music project “The Sirens” together with Anneke van Giersbergen and Liv Kristine.
Kari Rueslåtten, bosatt i Trondheim, startet sin musikkarriere i det progressive metalbandet The 3rd and the Mortal. Etter at hun forlot bandet allerede i 1995 og fjernet seg fra metalsjangeren, har Kari Rueslåtten gitt ut fem soloalbum; Spindelsinn (1997), Mesmerized (1998), Pilot (2002), Other People´s Stories (2004) og Time To Tell (2014). Rueslåtten har tidligere blant annet vært nominert til Spellemannsprisen og hatt radiohiter som ”Make Me a Stone” og ”Other People’s Stories”. Hun har siden 2014 startet et felles musikalsk prosjekt “The Sirens” sammen med Anneke van Giersbergen og Liv Kristine.

Here i found the lyrics.- just amazing Kari as always.-
Original by Peter Seeger
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time of love, a time of hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late
Kari, you Goddess ♥, she just has the most charmingly haunting voice my ears have been lucky enough to listen to. Thank you Norway.
Beautiful song and video
WOW, What a very cool version!
Kari, you are the best!!!!
I absolutely love this version!!!
Better than I expected! I'm just speechless *.*
LOVE HER ♥
An amazing, beautiful treatment of this song. I've been a fan of the Byrds since the early '70s and have loved this song for as long as I can remember hearing music. You've done something incredible here, Kari.
Such a beautiful song ♥
can barely wait for the whole album
♥
Годы идут а Кари всё также хороша
This is insanely beautifu Kari, if your read this sometime let me tell you that you did an amazing job with this one, The Byrds's version is extremely catchy and has a very different atmosphere compared to this, one of the most difficult challenges for an artist when thy do a cover is to make 'theirs' the version and not a copycat of the original one, and you just did it, you made another song, congratulations, a fan from Chile!
So, this video is about how while Kari was with her staff at the recording studio a baby ran away from the place to have an adventure?
the voice at the end sounds a bit like Vinnie from Anathema
+Neueregel more like Danny
Above Azure Oceans well maybe it's Danny actually. Danny lives in Norway nowadays
How could "Game Of Thrones" consider this song for the season 7 trailer and then REJECT it? The baby in the video is cute enough, but imagine this song with a broody Jon Snow walking the hills around Winterfell...Would have been the perfect trailer.
Hate covers, she has so many beautiful songs of her own, why do covers??
because this is so different.and byrds version is from 65
we are now in 2019
