i think every time a new track comes out that he’s somehow exhausted all his innovations, that he couldn’t *possibly* get any better, because he’s already reached such a high peak. i think to myself, there’s no way he could invent yet another technique.. and then as always goosebumps cascade down my skin, and i am absolutely floored! he is a master of his craft
It's because he's like an athlete, always finding new stuff to do with his body as he trains his breathing techniques on different forms of sax, so there's always new stuff for him to do that he couldn't physically do two or more years in the past. It's incredible!!!
what an absolute master of the craft, i've never known of anyone so in-tune and one with their instrument. the level of control you must have to be able to perform half as good is astounding
Seeing the videos on this channel made me interested in bass sax and was considering getting one for months. Finally made the plunge, and I've had it for about a week now. It's incredibly fun to play!
My main experiences with the instrument was back at the height of Ska, a fair number of bands had bass Sax in place of bass guitar. The thing really pushes air into the crowd, even as a small PA pushes the rest of the instruments, you can feel the player’s breath going into your chest
@The_CGA that sounds amazing! It makes sense that it would work in that setting and must have been so much fun for both the bands and audiences. I would love to use it in a collaborative setting, too, someday
I have put a ton of thought into the settings I would LOVE to play bass/contrabass sax in. Carrying the low end with a tuba in a brass band would be SO cool to me. Bass sax in a prog rock band like Thank You Scientist also seems like it would be extremely fun.
My god, 13 years ago a 21 year old me listened the crap out of New History Warfare Vol. 2, loved that one! Now I can share this with the kids 4 and 6 years old :)
Mr. Stetson truly makes you think about what music is and what it can be. No one on the planet has a sound like his. He is one of a kind. The way he sings through the sax and uses microphones as a percussion is so damn innovative.

A true master of his instrument. It always amaces me that he is able to create new sounds from and instrument, and then make some of the most emotionals songs of this century.

miles
Colin Stetson - in a league of his own 🌠🖖🏽
No matter what, Colin Stetson continues to push and refine his style of music.
Words cannot express how happy I am for this man to scream in that sax
His music is probably the most unique I've ever listened to.

Bro invented like six new techniques for this track alone
Colin Stetson could play at a jazz festival as well as Wacken. An he is probably the only person who can say that.

I want a bass sax or tubax so bad man it's my dream

Amazed but not surprised he's finding new ways to push the saxophone. How legends are forged. Slowly but undeniably.

colin stetson and his clones
His playing here calls to mind a Middle Earth style battle horn

Can someone design an instrument specific for this man ?! He room for potential is infinite
Multilayered Sonic Boom
Thank you for still producing and sharing❤
The effort you put into actualy being your sound is incredibly sexy
Check out Luca Mai of Zu and Colin's pal Mats Gustafsson AKA the Beast!!!
weirdest shit i’ve ever boogied down to
Lost Highway found.
Bravo sir 🎉🔥🔥
Sir - to play the baritone sax like that is one thing but how the are you playing a base guitar at the same time?? Amazing stuff!
This gave me an asthma attack
Está pero bien, bien, bien cabrón.
how do you not hyperventilate circle breathing so fast
so angry!
I'd like to believe that he trained so much on the sax that he lost all his hair, one punch man style
i want to hear how the vocalizations would sound without the saxophone :)
where did the hair go
jesus are you alright?
What did you learn from him
