i think every time a new track comes out that he’s somehow exhausted all his innovations, that he couldn’t *possibly* get any better, because he’s already reached such a high peak. i think to myself, there’s no way he could invent yet another technique.. and then as always goosebumps cascade down my skin, and i am absolutely floored! he is a master of his craft
Gawddamn. Every. Time.
Incredible.
Colin Stetson - in a league of his own 🌠🖖🏽
there isn't another musician in this universe that has mastered and become one with their instrument like Colin has 🎷
miles
Wahnsinn Gott sei seiner Seele gnädig, schaurig schöne Klänge aus dem Bauch der Hölle, Absolute super Leistung.
Amazed but not surprised he's finding new ways to push the saxophone. How legends are forged. Slowly but undeniably.
I set this as my alarm
No coffee needed.
My god, 13 years ago a 21 year old me listened the crap out of New History Warfare Vol. 2, loved that one! Now I can share this with the kids 4 and 6 years old :)
Mr. Stetson truly makes you think about what music is and what it can be. No one on the planet has a sound like his. He is one of a kind. The way he sings through the sax and uses microphones as a percussion is so damn innovative.
No matter what, Colin Stetson continues to push and refine his style of music.
Words cannot express how happy I am for this man to scream in that sax
Seeing the videos on this channel made me interested in bass sax and was considering getting one for months. Finally made the plunge, and I've had it for about a week now. It's incredibly fun to play!
Look forward to seeing your videos some day here on RUclips 🙌🏽
I want a bass sax or tubax so bad man it's my dream
My main experiences with the instrument was back at the height of Ska, a fair number of bands had bass Sax in place of bass guitar. The thing really pushes air into the crowd, even as a small PA pushes the rest of the instruments, you can feel the player’s breath going into your chest
@The_CGA that sounds amazing! It makes sense that it would work in that setting and must have been so much fun for both the bands and audiences.
I would love to use it in a collaborative setting, too, someday
I have put a ton of thought into the settings I would LOVE to play bass/contrabass sax in. Carrying the low end with a tuba in a brass band would be SO cool to me. Bass sax in a prog rock band like Thank You Scientist also seems like it would be extremely fun.
This is exactly what it feels like to live in Toronto
he is the real Six God
its like an entire heavy metal band in one instrument
The type of song you hear when THEY are coming...
I just imagined someone accidentally stumbling upon this while on psychoactive substances, I think this would basically immediately kill you
Makes me panic horny.
colin stetson and his clones
His playing here calls to mind a Middle Earth style battle horn
@@Jack_nnn_ Like the Orcs are chasing someone through a dense forest?
Your talent continues to amaze me!! The amount of coordination is something I'll never comprehend, but it is always awe inspiring! That @4:45 Wow!
So uniquely captivating.
I think Colin Stetson and Author & Punisher would be a great collab.
Colin Stetson could play at a jazz festival as well as Wacken. An he is probably the only person who can say that.
I’m so honored to have heard this live in Toronto. Absolutely unreal.
Damn I wanted to be there. Hope I can make it to Montreal next month.
Seeing him play this on Toronto was crazyyyyy. I actually thought at one point there would be a mosh pit lmao
2:05 that section was so cool sounding, very ritualistic.
Holy frig that was good
Colin Stetson never ceases to amaze.
Bro invented like six new techniques for this track alone
Absolutely brilliant! 🤍
Well, if it isn’t the goat. Glad to hear another masterpiece.
Hearing this one live for the first time was life changing
"Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost."-Dante Alighieri, Inferno, Canto I
Might genuinely be one of his best songs ever. Wow.
Im in a trance while listening to this
Incredible and so authentic.
What a creative and fun song! Who else has noticed his circular breathing technique!?
And thats just the beginning
this is incredible...
A true master of his instrument. It always amaces me that he is able to create new sounds from and instrument, and then make some of the most emotionals songs of this century.
What a Titan!
His music is probably the most unique I've ever listened to.
That was great, probably the best one I've heard from Stetson so far.
Made me wish for a Stetson - Forest Swords collaboration
Мощно и очень красиво, очень бы хотелось побывать на концерте, всё может быть!
Feels like a massive horde of brass creatures stomping your soul.
always a pleasure to hear new music from you
What a godly genius talent you are and what a time to be alive. Thank you for sharing this class act.👏
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
this is gonna be album of the year for sure
This man has knowledge, near to gods
You are an absolute machine. Incredible set up as always
this album is gonna change instrumental music forever
Close your eyes and imagine murderous elephants on rampage.

Mindblowing.
Incredible!!
yeah man that's what I'm talkin about
marvellous
Superb, man.
I felt panic with this one, real physical panic.
MUSICAL MAGIC
Sir - to play the baritone sax like that is one thing but how the are you playing a base guitar at the same time?? Amazing stuff!
The effort you put into actualy being your sound is incredibly sexy
I'd like to believe that he trained so much on the sax that he lost all his hair, one punch man style
Lost Highway found.
Está pero bien, bien, bien cabrón.
i want to hear how the vocalizations would sound without the saxophone :)
so angry!
how do you not hyperventilate circle breathing so fast
where did the hair go
m
jesus are you alright?
Another performance of Colin yelling through a pipe to some synth bass while tapping some finger cymbals.
impressive in terms of technology and technique, emotionally can't really connect with it.
First
Is this crossfit for musicians?
There is a rumour that whales have actually heard him play and think he is one of them. Before I forget, it's not possible to play a bass sax the way he does. Well, this sounds erroneous, because he plays it, but it's practically not possible. Believe me.
THE ENDING OH MY GOD
I really wished you were at the Nosferatu movie 🥲
