Same! I currently am training for the world championships too and the routine is so overwhelming that i literally nearly faint after because i hold my breath lol
I've been dancing for at least 8 years and I've never learnt how to use breath during dance or that it's important . I currently do dance as a subject in school and I'm always being corrected for not using breath and therefore I'm not able to dance to my full potential . Thank you for this
Totally guilty of not breathing (hardly at all) when I'm concentrating 😬 until I feel like I need to gasp. It's such a bad habit that's really difficult to break. Will try this in the slow parts of the choreo I'm working on and see if I can break some of the habits. Thanks 🙏🏻 ❤️
Thank you fot this! I've got a competition coming up, and I realised that 2 minutes into my practice sessions, I'm out of breath. Trying to work on my breathing technique, so I can perform for 6 whole minutes
Happy to help champ! Breathing is ofc essential, but harder than you think sometimes=) Feel free to find more dance specific content here on the channel. Let me know if you have any questions and I might make a video out of it;) /coach
I'm trying to work on being a famous dancer for (electro) swing dancing since I cherish the 20s and 30s alot and I wanna try to carry on the legacy of the music. I run out of breath in 3 minutes, and I wish to try to run out of breath slower. I barely focus on my arms, the legs are what its all about. The things I focus on are speed, balance, transitions, and timing. When dancing, I tend do alot of things with my legs and it plays a big role in swing. I'll try these techniques out and go from there, thanks for the advice!
Love your ambition to carry on the legacy! Very inspiring. Hit me up on IG and lets have a chat there, I might have some more valuable tips for you. instagram.com/sebastian_befit/
Thank you for this video! This is super interesting!! I constantly hold my breath while dancing and wonder why I am so tense and don't look like a flowly dancer lmao!
While I agree holding the breath does make me tired out faster I disagree that it makes you slower and weaker in fact it's the opposite at least in my case but I'm still here to learn to not puffer out so quickly
I have a HUGE habit of holding my breath when I’m dancing,it cause me to get tried easy,I’ll try this method today
Same 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

@@DesertJacks oops I still don't focus on my breathing once I'm doing things. So hard to remember it do it consciously 😬
@@EmerInspires thank you for responding. Much appreciated.
@@DesertJacks it's always good manners to respond. Sadly, like breathing, people are forgetting basic manners online I find 😔
