Really nice video. Not walked up via that route, will have to give it a go one day. A friend directed me to this video as I get a mention from Richard. Keep 'em coming. Subscribed
He does mention you yes, and even though I said I didn’t know you, I had actually watched quite a few of your videos without realising! Thanks for the sub mate, will give you one back if I haven’t already. All the best.
Looks quite hard 😂😂 Was looking forward to watching this Dave and it didn’t disappoint. Was nice meeting you too mate. My video is currently uploading so should be on soon. ATB mate, Richard 👍🏼
😂 Cheers. I know how it feels when you think you’ve got somewhere to yourself and then someone rocks up! Made a nice change sharing the experience though. Looking forward to seeing yours mate, I know it won’t disappoint 👍🏻
Great video Dave (as always).. you clearly have some good geographical knowledge of area, pointing out key peaks within the topography of the landscape.
Thanks Anthony. Yes I really like the tent. I’ve popped in to Mountain Warehouse a couple of times recently when in Keswick to say hello but you weren’t around. Be good to find out what’s “tools” you’re using for your videos.
Hi Dave, sorry I missed you. I have retired now, my last day was the Easter weekend. I am now a gentleman of leisure! Lol! The cameras I mostly used are the Sony ZV1 and a GoPro hero 8 for timelapse duties. I also used a Lumix S5 but I found that a bit too heavy. For audio I just use a Rode Videomicro mounted to the camera and for editing I use Da Vinci Resolve. I hope this helps but please ask if you require any further info. Atb Anthony
@anthonypayne1 good for you! I used to own a really good quality compact camera, but old it on as thought it was only a matter of time before smartphones caught them up so cashed in. iPhone 14 max pretty good quality actually, I use it in lowlight when the action camera isn’t really up to the job. All the best Anthony.
No you shouldn’t need to, it’s only the dye on the fabric. As it happens I had a bit of good fortune when I pitched it up in the garden, had lots of rain and no leaks at all. Always worth testing before you take it out proper just in case.
Looking at this myself. The only thing that puts me off to be honest is the inside height (not, strangely, the price). I'm also considering the cheaper option of the Terra Nova Pioneer, or poss the Wechsel Exogen 2, which is a better suited to the non winter months . I'm 65 and I've had enough of crawling around trying to get dressed in low tents. It will primarily for solo use and Cycle touring with the occasional mountain trip in good weather.
I’ve had the Voyager 2 as well, good tent, but similar sort of problem in that the headroom tapers off at one end . Definitely more spacious in the abisko though, especially lengthways.
Thanks for watching! Ive got a lot more than footage than this but have had issues with my editor and the files. There’s always bloody something!!! I know what you mean, I wish I was braver with it but always afraid it’s going to take off somewhere it’s not meant to! I need to keep practising though.
Nice video 👍 I camped up there a couple of months ago it’s a good one to do. I thought you was going to say she told you off for wild camping 😂 I always turn the camera off if there’s people about it’s not worth the grief especially in today’s world where everyone knows there rights. 🙄 ATB Karl
To be fair I only had the camera behind them so you’d never recognise who they were. Maybe she had a point, but it was the way she made it. It’s very rare I meet someone as bloody miserable as that when out on the fells!!! Yours was one of the vids I used for research, thanks for that mate, I’ll give you a sub if I haven’t already 👍🏻
Great video mate, some people ey!!(cow😂) I watched your sidepike video what is the signal like up there when I walk past it I can never get signal is it better at the top 😁
🤣 Signal is really good on Side Pike. I’d had a mare that day and lost my bag in Ambleside. It had about a 1000 quids worth of video equipment, plus my power banks and credit and debit cards, hence the issues with that video! The bank called me whilst I was in the tent to tell me it had all been found and I called the lady to get it all back the next day. Massive relief!
24:57 that vern 1 was hyped to death, so much so that I was sucked in and was a click away from buying, but decided against it at the last minute. I can understand why there has been some blowback. RUclipsrs did their absolute best to sell it as the greatest tent ever.
I avoided mentioning individuals mate. But that’s the negative side of RUclips I think. Disappointing when you see certain channels bigging them up on RUclips ( having been given them for free) then seeing them trying to sell on a few weeks later. I’m still waiting for my refund from Nortent!

Thanks for the video...enjoyed it very much... Appreciated the mention that your tent was the b grade.... That comment was most helpful...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, I've been looking at the Abisko 2 lite for my proper 4 season tent. Really like the look of It 👍
It’s a quality bit of kit. Got full confidence in it when the weather starts turning again.

Yeah I’ve spent quite a lot of time up there but still much to explore. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant Video Dave , Great shots of the scenery
Cheers gog. Imagine having 6 Samosas though in a tent. Be a bit drafty!
Stunning views and sunset Dave. Loving the new tent👍👍

Just found your channel.great filming and format.cracking camp.subscribed.
Cheers mate, appreciate that 👍🏻
Did you bother to seam seal the tent? I have just bought the same 'B' assortment with the stripes. Price was too good to pass up.

@@boolay75 Thanks, I will definitely test it first before I do anything. Seam sealing never looks very pretty

Great drone footage! Keep meaning to get ours out but as inexperienced flyer's it's a little intimidating!

Can’t Record without permission in a public place 🤣🤣🤣 I hope you told her ! Loved the video 👍

@@boolay75 weirdly enough I received an email today from a uk supplier that it’s back in stock. I’ll pass thanks 😂
I ordered the Nortent Vern 1 and cancelled mine.
Well I never got to try it, so hard for me to judge the Vern, but purely based on the specs the Abisko seemed more suitable for me.
Valley and Peak I’m guessing. I don’t think it will be a bad tent, just way too overhyped to get RUclips views if you ask me.
Plan B 🤣🤣🤣💪
😂
