Thanks for posting this interview. What a sad state of affairs, we have here in American. Pollock is one of the greatest living writers on the planet and this is the only interview on RUclips and it's only had 1,099 views. People are really missing out; his 2 books are precious stones that can be stared at for hours and their beauty never diminishes. I've literally read 1000's of books and "The Devil All the Time" is the best book I've read, even surpassing "Blood Meridian" & Roth novels.
Like many of the Greats in the Arts, maybe he will get the deserved recognition sometime in the future. Most of what I read comes from referrals or blogs and not Media Hype or bestsellers.
Knockemstiff is horridly beautiful! I haven't been this excited about discovering a writer in a long time! Pollock's wit is sharper than a butcher knife. He can really turn what would normally be an overlooked situation and really draw out the important aspects. The human aspects. I grew up in a town very similar to what you would find in rural Southern Ohio and I, as well as many others, can relate. Pollock really knows how to set them up then knock em down.
The writer comes across a a really, really nice man. Very articulate; I think he blushed at the last question which is lovely. I, for one, will buy and read anything he writes as he moves forward. Great US writer. Greetings from Germany.
He's slowly gaining some recongition, thankfully. The Heavenly Table was one of the best novels I've read since McCarthy's Westerns. I just hope he comes out with a new book soon, its been five years.
